I love this! So much dope culture came out of the hood in those days! RIP Bushwick Joe! ❤
REAL. FLAVA
I am African American and Puerto Ricans were at the first Hip Hop party in 1973 and are the FIRST Bboys and Bgirls along with blk and Carribean and whoever else was there. Puerto Ricans also had the Young Lords in the 1960s. Ricans been down since DAY 1! In the 1980s early 80s many of us blk youth wanted to be like Crazy Legs and Rockstesdy Crew!
Dude. I just tried to leave a comment on your "creators of hip hop." video.
Asians are best break dancers either way its like the NBA African Americans got invited and took over well hip-hop was taken over especially tagging and breaking by Hispanics and Asians
Your latest video. There is a lot I agree with, some things I disagree with and you have several factual errors you could probably see needing correction if pointed out. But you have the comments off. I left a 👎 for that reason. If you turn the comments on I will change that to 👍 😂
Thanks for the feed back..what do you think some of the factual errors are?
@@victorvixxjorge4095 I don’t remember everything right now. But you said Taki 187 instead of 183. Julio 204 was probably Colombian instead of PR. I think calling him PR was an assumption people have made. There are discrepancies about what year he started and what years he started to get noticed. Couple these things if I watch again I will take note. I think with an objective look you should not omit CornBread who from my research really started at about the same time as Julio. And there were some other writers who started in Philly who got folded into Cornbreads movement. I would have to watch again to comment on some other things…
@@victorvixxjorge4095 on other thing, you defining terms to start was very good, however the framing of the argument is off, everyone (being serious) agrees there were a number of PRs there from the beginning, the issue really is, does it come from Black American Culture? Because that really is the main contention.
Ok thank you about 183 I can take a note of that in the description.
You made sure to turn the comments off on the racist video you made prior to this lame video. Just like “dr” coloNIZER all yall LIEtinos are the same 😂😂😂
Disrespectful RACIST CULTURE VULTURE
More like a first generation CULTURE VULTURE
Lately there has been a NY rapper saying that Puerto Ricans or any other immigrants should not get any credit or did not have any influence in the beginnings of Hip-Hop. It's a good time for more of the Latinos who were around in the beginning to show their receipts. Great video!
Guys a dffff
Good interview.
Love to Susie, Kim, Jaycee and Brenda K. Starr. Love CoCo Pop. Blessings.😊❤
Don't forget the Dynamic Dolls! Love COCO PoP.❤
That was the most 80's word salad I've heard in a long time.
Sounds pretty clear to me #FFBA
One of the best to ever do it! ❤
“I’m Spanish, but I’m Black! We all have a part of this.” 🫡

Had some great times brother - thank you 💙 Rock in Paradise legend ✨💪🏾
Cant hear the audio
It seemed like there were different crews doing their own thing in different parts of the BX. Some people seemed to be left out.
Yea in each area has its own history and heros...its all important and everyone played a role!
@@victorvixxjorge4095 They played their roll but it's still proven to come from black american culture facts!
RIP Joe, thankyou for the inspiration

Let's 100% honest. In every ethnic group you got haters and racists. Human beings are a mess. So while for the most part all the groups got along, there were contingents i each group who were haters to the other. My mom called them West Indian haters. It wasn't say all black Americans are that, but they did exist. You also had the ones who hated Puerto Ricans too and it went the other way as well. So we shouldn't be surprised when we encounter people like Phase. We just need to keep their comments in the social context. One thing is for sure, Puerto Ricans were in The Bronx for most of the 20th century. Everybody listened to the same music on the radio, we lived in the same buildings, went to the same schools faced the same challenges. If you were West Indian, you were automatically classified as black by the government. If you were ambiguous looking like me, you was assumed to be Puerto Rican, until they heard you had an English last name. If you were dark skinned and had an Afro, you was black till they heard your last name or they heard you speaking Spanish. So how in the World could West Indians and Puerto Ricans not have been co-creators of something that evolved in the streets of the Bronx when all of us were in those streets? It was never about race. In our World view there were two types of people White people and us, black and Puerto Rican. We said black and Puerto Rican like you say Peanut Butter and Jelly. NOBODY considered Puerto Ricans white no matter how light they were and that's a fact!
RIP Bushwick Joe! Thank you for all the inspiration and memories! We love you! 💔💔💔
Thank you for the video!! R.I.P Dad
Your Dad was a very special man and impacted many people through is dance!
