Needed a solid wood to instead of particle board! yuck! Otherwise it is cute!

I can see where you were going with the idea and you did a nice fake wood paint job but its more of a transformation than a restoration. as a restore would have just cleaned it all out and sanded the top layer and given it a good varnish as the front had some lovely wooden coloured detail.

What a sweet little stool. As soon as you laid down the different colored wood I knew where you were going. A charming and very useful remake.

Real change on what was rather gross and gruesome. Well done you. It might be an idea to try finer paper on the beautiful carvings. It may take a lot longer but you’d be surprised with the outcome !! At least this way it won’t get so dusty…lol…

Some comments are a bit close to the bone.!!!! I so hope it doesn’t make you give up.??
