Absolutely. Prime example is SGC. Go back to pre-boom in 2020, SGC had values much closer to what PSA is. Maybe 10-15% difference at most. However, from 2020 through late 2022, Content Creators on UA-cam and IG absolutely destroyed the relevance of SGC. Complained and lambasted them to garbage values. Continually trashed them when compared to PSA and Beckett. It wasn't until early 2023 that they started gain relevance and value again with some creators speaking good of them.

Agree, ESPN reports on players might initiate hype easier than an influencer. But do not forget, rare trading cards (low numbered) can be moved in price simpler than u think. U just need two people biding on a single item to drive the final price. Bigger channels have the substance to animate just enough people to jump on board.

eBay, whatnot, UA-cam, Facebook groups ….. all aspects has an influence on all types of collecting areas. FOMO is a major aspect (fear of missing out). I was around for the 90s crash. When investors take over from collectors, the bubble will pop.

COMC is terrible. Especially their grading services. No communication at all on grades. Least they could do is update the card’s status with PSA. Their ripoff pre grade service, don’t fall for it. I sent 3 for pre grade review. 2 didn’t pass because I got it back with no response (COMC version of not grade worthy), 1 passed. I sent all 3 into PSA. 2 that didn’t pass got a 9 & 10. The one they passed got a 7. They don’t describe listings accurately. Don’t take quality photos of any flaws you don’t see until purchased and received. Don’t recommend at all

Cajun is covering the high end market. Easily to drive those prices up, if there is less supply. My observation is similar, 4-8weeks before the NBA season starts the card market for basketball cards heats up, until 3 Weeks into the season. Then the hope for most teams to be competetive is diminishing.

I might have to check it out again. I checked it out early and couldn't believe the crazed bidding. I have COMC open (I want to immediately move it to my COMC account) and compare the price on the site while the live auction is going and 70% of the time, the auction price exceeds if they just bought it off COMC. I'm talking 60%-125% more. People just get caught up in the bidding. Thanks for this video.
