Canyon Rim Honey Bees
United States
Приєднався 6 бер 2017
My journey with honey bees began 40 years ago. Beekeeping has been a part of my family for a long time. I am the 4th generation in my family to keep bees. My grandfather had bees in Europe and so did his father, my great grandfather. I got my first hives when I was only 13 years old.
My primary focus is breeding queen bees in the Black Hills of western South Dakota. I am a certified Master Beekeeper (University of Montana program), and yet I continue to learn new things every year.
It is wonderful to see so many people interested in bees and in becoming beekeepers. I enjoy teaching and over the years I have had the privilege of mentoring many new beekeepers. I created this channel so that I could upload videos relating to honey bees and beekeeping in general. I hope you will find something of interest. Thank you for watching and subscribing!

Monofloral Varietals of Honey
In this presentation I review 80+ monofloral varietals of honey*
I explain the difference between polyfloral (wildflower) and monofloral honeys, what beekeepers do to encourage the production of a monofloral honey, and how do we determine that a honey is indeed monofloral.
Then, I discuss each honey including the plant which the nectar came from to make that honey, what the honey looks and tastes like, and other general information regarding the floral source and the honey itself.
*Monofloral honey = honey produced from primarily a single nectar source
Time stamps to more easily go to each honey
