I fully believe zip is a better material. The question for me is whether it's 171% better because that's the price difference here. I'm comparing it to traditional housewrap which at the cheapest around here is 8 cents / sq ft vs 11 cents / sq ft upcharge on the forceshield for standard 7/16.

China sales are way down on just about everything. The company’s are filling up containers, the ones with 4 double doors on the side and sending them to auctions. They get $6000-$7000 for the container, and get $3000-$4500 for the mini excavators. I got a H15 for $3500 + fee, you will have to do the normal up grades. I saw about 100 sold so far another 30 coming up this week. The auctions aren’t the big name, like Richie Brothers. I think Rippa or Vote would be better machines. I haven’t heard one bad comment yet from the buyers. They keep coming back to get a machine to sell on Facebook.
Put a quick attach on, about $175.
I just noticed this isn’t a new video.
@@denslod2930 a different quick attach?
Glad u tube showed you in search. Mine came off at drive end, so first attempt was to (gently) force, that end back on. Failed! Powering onto idler, instead of trying to catch at drive end, makes sense. After I back off locknut and shorten track adjustment screw. Thanks for sharing. Like, share, subscribe 😂

1:13 How does OSB not deteriorate underneath wet ground for 3 years? AFAIK, Zip doesnt claim anything special about their OSB other than the green barrier bonded to one side.

Videos like this are why the general public now needs warning labels 14 pages long. You start off the video by giving an anecdotal story about not using a product for its intended purpose as somehow proof that the zip system is “better”. I’m reminded of the scene from Apollo 13 - “I don’t care what it was designed to do, I care about what it CAN do”. That’s you…and this video. The same guy that invented the zip system also invented the force field system. The zip system was originally designed for roof sheathing, hence why it’s more durable - basically overkill for vertical sheathing. However, when used for their CORRECT purpose, which is sheathing BEHIND siding, they both perform nearly identically. Let’s face it, you’ve abused your stack of force field and then call it crap when it fails.
I know a guy that sells these on the side, he says you don't have to loosen the track, just put it back on. He said you didn't loosen it to come off.
@@denslod2930 you may not have to… but you should. Why put the extra strain on yourself and the machine to avoid 2 minute of turning a wrench? 🔧
@@jakebell1947 that's a good point to consider.
@@denslod2930 if you don’t have a wrench… then it’s probably the right time to try and put it on Without loosening.

Jake - I live on the outskirts of Seattle; and Kent, WA is extremely close. I am very much looking into purchasing an excavator direct from China. Please, if you remember - what was the Business Company name of the Shipping Place in Kent - where you picked up the equipment? I would like to use the same place... Also - we have sales tax in Washington. I know Montana does not... but you picked it up in Kent. Did you pay any sales tax? You have a quick breakdown of various fees paid... but not sure if Sales Tax was in there. Appreciate any info you can give me. Thank you.

ZIP is meant to be stronger due to the creation process, as it was originally created for roofs (being walked on). It was found to be overkill for walls, which is where Forcefield comes in. Obviously both have come a long way since then (Forcefield can now being used on roofs), but they're all good at their primary uses with similar failure points. If you do ZIP vs Forcefield search you can find what each product was designed for by the person that helped create these products.

I have been wondering, because I just searched exactly that to see if my mini can unload one off a flat bed to get $300 cheaper delivery.
Zip Sheets are not sold in the Big Box stores though!! I checked Menards and Home Depot - maybe Lowes? Sure enough Lowes does have it!
Great vids Jake, nice to see the machines being operated smoothly. It''ll be the Kubota for me.
Ya that sucks
Force field and joint tape is still more cost effective and serves the same purpose as OSB or Zip with barrier wrap.
I would assume the Kubota sounds much better than the Brinks & Stranton
Omg, so much more pleasant!

How much was it?
Word- force field developed by same inventor-he concedes readily this is inferior to zip -weather logic (blue) . Is better but I think they lost a patent lawsuit to Huber (green)? This tape is very very thin…what I don’t like is zip on roof- as Huber honestly notes, u nmust cober zip on roof-trsut me it will leak- so we do zip on vertical surfaces, osb with the ebst membrane you cna afford-and seriously two layers of jumbo tech can be slapped on quickly and you are more weathertight than zip on roof before you cna get shingles on
Does anyone need a small electric loader? 1150 weight, 600kg lifting weight. Matching equipment can complete shovel, clamp, bracket, fork, dig and other work tasks, the important thing is that it is cheap and easy to use. $3,120

The contractors hate these cheap Chinese machines because they can't charge you a massive price to do your work. These machines are great for home owners to save money.
forgot to mention Hydraulic Thumb vs. manual thumb. good video though...
Oh man, we shouldn't let our ignorance make us look silly. The same engineer develop zip sheathing and force field! Zip was originally designed for an intended to be used for roofing. It's made for the roof it has been commonly adopted to be used for normal siding which means that it is grossly over-engineered for siding which is why it's so much more expensive. If you use the force field the way it's intended which is for both sheathing and sheer but also as the barrier for air and water for vertical panels it is perfect for its job it's job. But if you stick it in the dirt or just paint it and expect it to be your siding that's just ridiculous. Find the UA-cam video where the engineer that developed both of them explains the differences in the systems, don't just listen to some well-meaning but uninformed guy that doesn't build to code.

How wide bucket is? There are options of 60cm (2ft), 80(less than 3ft)cm and 1m(little over 3ft) wide. Is it 1m? I’m thinking of 80cm is ok. 60cm too narrow and 1m too hard on boom?
I have 3 bucket I’ve been using: 8inch: great for trench in soft soil without rock, but not great if rocks are bigger than 6” 14” most useful bucket, good match for machine and general digging 36 inch smooth with tilt. Not for digging. But great for grading, backfilling or cutting an inch or 2 off grade.
@@jakebell1947 14” I got. Works good. I got 8” too but haven’t tried. I’ll dig water pipe trench with 8” because 14” makes too big piles of dirt on grass. 8” probably easyer to backfill. 36” is between 2 option they offer here (32” and 40”) Would you go smaller or larger?
@@artur8403 wouldn’t go bigger
I am intrigued by the fact that you painted the zip panels on your shed and used that as your exterior surface. How is it holding up over time? I might like doing something like this for my shed build instead of using the outrageously expensive hardie panels.
