How to Make a Danish NO BAKE Apple Cake
This recipe is not very accurate at all (im swedish and i always make this for our holidays)! But the gest is good :) we use "sprats". The brine is totally different, you can get the swedish anchovy in ikea in some countries. the lil fishies are finely chopped. Whole cream, 31%, is preferable, milk. And we would not ever slice tatos or onions. potatos are chips(uk) between to fries. Onions finely shopped. And you put them all in layers. Butter is very important. Grease tray with butter, then a few slabs in the mix.
great video - going to try 2, cant do the pancake as im allergic to eggs
I thought it was the Danish version of mayonnaise., but it like a tatar sauce.
Yes, it's a lot like a tatar sauce
Worst Blender i ever seen in my 55 years on this Planet
Worst blender I've ever encountered myself as well. Glad I got my hands on something better now :)
Thank you for the recipe, Alex! I have a dear friend in Sweden that posted a picture of his and it looked really delicious! I'm going to give it a try. どうも有難度うございます!で、良いお年を迎えください!
A top notch sauce, 😊 thanks for posting.
Glad you liked the video :)
very sad to find this channel, only to find out you no longer make videos. hope you are well!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm doing well, life just got in the way but I may return with more videos in next year
Hey, it's me, Mavi Looks delicious! Keep up the good work 😃
what kind of pickles, sweet or dill???
what sort of coating is it on the fish and what fish? Thanks!
The coating used was flour, eggs and panko. Unfortunately then I don't remember what fish I used for this video, however plaice is the ideal fish. Alternatively, then you can use it on most other white fish such as cod :)
Its fantastic! Thanks for the recipe and glad påsk 2023! I like the background music too 😅
It’s a bit cringe when you speak Japanese. Seems a bit weaboo like.
Where is the white Cabbage ?
How to gain arm strength 💪
Swedish ansjovis is a sweet, pickled sprat as opposed to the actual anchovies in oil. So your recipe which you showcase here most likely tastes rather different from the original one. Just as an FYI.
Wait - you found a random supermarket open at that time of the night other than 7-11? That`s crazy. Where did/do you live? I used to live in Hatanodai and Fujisawa, but I think most markets were closed by 10 or 11. Glad it worked out for you!
It looks like a great cake, not as dry as American cinnamon coffee cake recipes I`ve made. She was lucky to try this recipe; not many people there get a chance to try it. I used to live in and around Tokyo, and I found many interesting, delicate and unique cakes and pastries there.
Thanks for sharing this. I was interested in the omelet ingredients and the way you fold it over, leaving part of it exposed, Danish style. I also liked the simplicity and modest portions. I tend to treat breakfast as a feast whenever I have friends here, so maybe I can make it different by trying the berries and banana smoothie, some rye bread with cheese and parma ham, followed by muesli. Oh and Wienerbrod! You see? I can`t serve up a little breakfast... Guess I couldn`t be Danish after all.
Alex i loved seeing the calligraphy along with the look of this Lemon dessert! 😋
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it means a lot :)
I normally make the pineapple version of this for our Christmas dessert (Miss you, Mormor!). But I think this year I will try this lemon version. Fromage is the best dessert for our Australian summers. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Pineapple could also work for sure! I'm sure you'll like it with lemon as well. Merry Christmas to you too 😊
Do you think you could use honey instead of blueberries and it would still taste good. I have a lot of honey i don't know what to do with. I'm talking about the shake
You could add it instead of the blueberries for sure. I'd just use a netural skyr instead of a flavored one in that case if you don't want it too sweet :)
No lemon juice, but it looks delicious 😋
If you want then you can add a bit lemon juice to it as well, that's true. This time I didn't but thank you for the compliment 😊
Is this silken tofu?
Yes, it is 😊
Looks really nice and icecreamy! 🍦😍 May I know what kind of tofu did you use? (E.g. silk tofu)
Thank you very much! It is silken tofu from Japan. I hope you'll give it a try 😊
Alex where do you buy natto box in Denmark? I’ve literally search for it for years.
I haven't tried them in Denmark as I don't really enjoy natto, as you can see in the video, but saw that you can get them in 'den Kinesiske Købmand' in Copenhagen. They also ship out products if you don't live there :)
Hi, I was hoping to see some savory recipe. I mostly have plain skyr with chopped veggies and olive oil. Awesome icelandic product!
It really is an awesome product! I hope I inpired you to try it in some new ways :)
@@DiningwithAlex This video definitely inspired me to give it a try, thanks
You should add your recipes on Khal, com, There is a very big chance that you will be on the front page........,
Thank you for the heads up, I appreciate the positive feedback 😊
Oh, so you are from Denmark? I almost thought, that you were from Japan. You are so great at speaking The language. It feels so natural, like you have done it for your whole life! Great video by The way. Great to see Danish people make japanese food, ;-).
Thank you very much for the comment, Rasmus. I am from Denmark yes but been living in Japan for 2.5 years. Just returned back a couple of weeks ago though 😊
Looks so good! 😋
Thank you very much for watching :D
Subscribed! 🔔👍🏼 Found your channel through Foodies Japan. Keep it up! 😊
Thank you, glad to have you on board 😊
Yes you are right the oringal Yokan/羊羹 was from China, and made up by mutton and its soup, after the mixture is cold they become jelly shape. However, Japan was forbidden to eat meat or there was not available meat, so they tried from plants and achieved today's Yokan. PS: I'm always wondering why Japanese seldom eat mutton today still...
That's good information. It doesn't seem like they breed it here much. Can't say why but their focus just seem to be on the other things :)
Thats a vit raw you donut
It's medium-rare but glad to see that you are a fan of Gordon as well
Nice video! Thanks!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😊
This looks so simple. I can't eat ice cream, it makes me feel sick, and this looks very nutritional and low cal
In that case then this recipe might do the trick for you 😊

Mange tak! It is a very nice tradition I think. The Ehomaki is also very easy and delicious to make which makes it even a better tradition :)

Glad to hear that you got inspired to make it! I look forward to hear what you thought of it yourself 😊
Looks good but why is that a Japanese recipe? I think everyone basically does they're steak like that😉
Thank you! It is just a Japanese wagyu steak compared to most of the steaks you see cooked on UA-cam. It's more or less cooked the same way, though 😄
He's a really nice and down to earth man
He really is yeah :) Can learn a lot from him, I think
:poggers japanese!
