The bike had no engine bolts holding the engine in the frame but only a allen key holding the engine to the frame . Lots of missing bolts, lots of disconnected electrical connectors, and lots of dust from storage. Bought as a parts bikes for the main bike. Before I go tearing down. I'll try reassembling the m...

keep the engine in the frame. Suzuki s40 head gasket requires angle grinder corner from top fin of head cylinder on passenger rear side. once you get to remove the head pull up and rotate clockwise (top view) around the tall bolt.

Pls don't do this to your bike. Don't take the short path. Give it a little mire time but do it properly
did you remove any of the high-pressure line brackets? I’m having a really hard time getting the high-pressure lines back on the new pump as they won’t really move at all.
What I finally did is realized the bottom one can just be moved back some, then when I put in the pump, I make sure the top line rested into the compression depression on the pump, then muscled the pump into the hole/keyway. Then connected the rear horizontal fuel line.
Great video!! Thanks so much. Just for an update, nowadays from a good shop (not the dealer) you should be able to get it done for $1800. The part alone (if you get a genuine BMW hpfp) is around $1100 (the dealer near me is actually pretty close in price to places like FCP Euro). You can get cheaper pumps of course, but it seemed the ratings were lower on those.
Very well shown. The distance from where you measure, is it when holding the carburetor upside down?
You can take the stud out instead of shaving fin
Very nice I have to change the camchain nice guide so far ....however I read you are not supposed to turn the engine counter clockwise ... Also why would you use sandpaper on the engine all the small particles ect can get into everywhere ... But yes very nice ... Thank you for sharing !!
1/4” ratchet with a 10mm socket works a charm Your struggle looked real!!
Thanks for sharing this, it’s exactly what I was looking for!
So real, the ending 😂😂hell yeah 👍
Hi... Good job. Where did you buy the pump and is it still working good? also what were the symptoms? I think mine is going. Thank you.
If you get a code showing the high pressure fuel system has low pressure; if you have trouble starting the car; etc. Mine started throwing a code at higher RPM pulls when fuel demands are greatest.
Hi Jet Great video. Do you know if Magneti Marelli HPFP considered OEM for BMW’s? Any other manufacturer or company recommendations would be great.
Hi, Great Video. You mentioned the Charge Pipe what cause the break?
I think he may have forgotten to take the clip off/pop it up before he tried to pull it off. Still, the pipe being right by the engine, it get's brittle. I would replace it with an aluminum one ASAP if you buy something with an N55...but that's me.
Legend, sweet video. I recently did an oil change on my 2013 S40 and a skinny toy like spring was connected to the back of the magnetic drain plug. The engine doesn’t sound bad or have any rattling noises. What would it be from? And before this situation occurred, my motorcycle in full throttle could do 88 mph and now I can only do 70 mph what could make this great loss of power? I already did an oil change and installed a new spark plug within spec. The bike is 200 miles shy of 7500 miles. I am currently waiting for a new battery and to clean & oil the K&N filter.
Check your camchain tensioner to see if it's spilled into the oil pan. That sounds like yours has broken apart.
5:56 how did you remove that black electrical thing
I think just pull the electrical unit down and out towards the driver side
@@jettran4465 I got it thanks
26th minute is so precious LOL!😆
If the charge pipe cracks at the connection point, as a temporary fix, use rescue tape. This tape sticks only to itself and makes a reliable seal. I drove for two months like this, before getting an aluminum charge pipe.

Bro when getting the third bolt, what did you sneak behind the long extension hex socket? I can’t find my 3/8 ratchet behind to take it out to save my life
I might have used a manual long reach hex wrench then switched to socket.
@@jettran4465 thanks man! Ended up using this video and got mine replaced late last night with exactly as you mentioned, I wasn’t following your steps in order. Need to remove the fuel line, push it away, then access the 5mm hex screw. Took way longer than it needed to in order to realize…🤦♂️
Hey como estas? Me podrás apoya, necesito el manual de taller de este motor precisamente.
Why is it sped up? It's so anoying
Thanks, why did you speed it up? UA-cam allows to speed a video up to 2 times if you want. Now it's very stressfull to watch.
UA-cam allows you to Down the video down so is not so stressfull for your sensitive feelings..
@@Comin_at_U_Live lol
@@pablolachmann7044 I know right? I even slowed it down to 0.5 half speed & 0.25 quarterspeed
Wow they quoted you $2000?! This looks very similar for doing a starter job on my n52 bmw. Done that myself
As noted above in my comment, a genuine BMW hpfp is now about $1100. Still, $600-$700 labor is a big chunk if you can do yourself.
Buen video. Gracias. Recomendacion. Mas facil sacar el motor. Saludos
The issue is in another spot, I suspect in the pug inside the head, and the poor air gasoline mix, carburetor may be readjust whith major main jet, to avoid execive heat.
too lean? I have seen vids pointing this out with the LS650
@@youfritter yes, is the point.
I have a suzuki s40 2004 with 12750 miles and it smoke a lot blue and white i need some help buddy please thanks
That is a common sign of bad piston rings Lucully on this bike its not that bad to fix.
😀 I love Suzuki Savage 👍💙
do you mind if i could have a download to 3d models please?
El cilindro sale sin usar la amoladora, no es necesario devastar las aletas de refrigeración
I tried for a hour to remove without the clearance, one corner cut on the fin isn’t going to affect the performance.
Como recomiendas que se remueba?
download file?
Perhaps try running a bigger gear sprocket on the clutch. Local tractor supply should have clutch rings. Safety first make sure brakes are A1.
Hey what is the jose in 1:57 for? Does it connect to something or is it a vent hose??
Sort of a vent or breather line
California models (apparently) require the hose because of emission laws, it connects to a charcoal filter. There should also be an intake beneath the seat that pulls into the same filter. From the filter it goes into the carb.
I found this really helpful, kinda similar to a Tu250x but different to get TDC, thanks man!
Why you took the battery off? Such an overkill!
😂
not really. your working with fuel, and its near to the starter, dont want to risk anything.
Haha thought the same. Did the replacement this week and while trying to access the famous hidden bolt, my tool made a short and there where big sparks a few centimeters from the fuel 😮 lucky me it went well! I took 2hours to do the work, 30min just for the bolt. Overall very easy job
Hey! It looks fire🔥 can I download it to the 3D printer?
0.08 mm intanke and exaust??
?? or 0.003
On first service I used .08 and they were way too loose and the bike ran terribly. Now I have to do it again. .003 is correct? Is it a mm to inch thousandth conversion?
Hi I have one suzuki s40 I am studying mechanic but I am not able to fix my bike my bike suddenly stop after 30 min I need to wait 10 min before to start again I have changed the oild I have checked the stator and coil and replacement the tci any sugestión will be nice and appreciated
Hi that was a Great video... Thank you Very much... I would like to say some of it was faster then I can see. I wish I could have heard your comments and it would be nice to know what solvent you were using... I'm knew... I hope this feedback is helpful...
Any cleaner solvent you use shall be good enough or equivalent
This is very good, I just have a couple of comments. The drum is completely wrong, the center cap is missing, the areas around the lug nut seats aren't offset enough and the seats should be conical.
Yo, i just bought a 1996 Savage, and I have this exact issue. Thanks bro
Great job
Great video bro keep it up. I’m getting ready to do my 2011 135i one handed let’s go 💯
Hold the clutch in and then push the start button. There is a safety switch in the clutch lever. I had the same problem with my s40
Tried that off camera. The problem was the bike sat for so long the starter solenoid was stuck. Was able to save it by rapidly tapping the start button until hearing the starer solenoid click.
very detailed video thank you helped me alot on my 135i
more vids on the 135i
Great work 👍🏼
Where did you get your Delphi HPFP? Price?
Incredibly helpful video boss thank you
Glad it helped
I recommend going back later and actually adjusting that one, you could end up with a lot of engine damage over time otherwise.
Excellent narration and video, thank you for posting this!
