I've been jamming on the Donner B1 for a while now, and I'm loving it! In this video, I dive into one of the pre-defined tunes and let it rip. The Donner B1 delivers some seriously savage sounds. I've also hooked up an Arturia DrumBrute Impact to spice things up. The audio was run through Audacity for a bit of reverb and EQ-because, sure why not?

Midi connect a beatstep pro to a korg nts-1

Got an Arturia Beatstep pro and a Korg NTS-1. If you dont have a conversion cable from TRS type A and type B, then you may find this video useful. thanks for explaining all of this. on a side note, i like that little case you have, did you buy it or make it yourself? (if bought, where from?)
I was thinking about using it as a replacement for my Xenyx Q502USB I'm using for In-Ear monitoring to get a more compact rig for live usage. I would plug in my FX processor and maybe a monitor mix coming from the sound guy (i.e. to get some keyboards in my ears). Would it work?
I have a Donner B1, I use it with my dawless jamming rig, awesome synth.
Its pretty cool alright. Doesn't take long to get some good sounds out of it.
CV > midi is opposite that generates constant sound unless you mute it?
Passive lowpass gates are fairly easy and would go well with those modules and the envelope you build next.
Cheers, I ended up getting a DIY LFO on reverb, hopefully not too hard
Thanks for this. I almost fecked the both of them out the window. The magic adapter doesn’t work!
No worries, nearly did the same thing myself.
❤️🔥❤️🔥👏👏👏
Good demo except your volume (voice) is good but the instrument volume is too low. I now know I'm using my s&h wrong.
Thanks, I have to work on getting the audio right. I thought it was ok in the Editor, but now that you mention it, it is a bit low.
Nice one, Tom! It's a funny module but it does reward experimentation.... I agree with you about the "range" of the S&H... Apparently Behringer did model this precisely in the OG 100m but it is frustrating!
Hi Andrew. I think with these modules its a great way to get introduced to eurorack without breaking the bank. I haven't used any other S&H module yet, so not sure what i am missing :)
I love the neon yellow 💛
It's so eye catching, isn't it. They should have done a range of modules in that style.
Wow! What a brilliant lesson! I have never made my Sytem100 sound like that! what a great idea to use a resonating filter as a mod source! I'm off to give it a try! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi 56K.... really enjoyed that little demo! was really interested in your set-up, as my own modular journey also started with the Behringer's System100 range. I, too, quickly added the Doepfer Wasp filter and I love it! It "breaks" in beautifully unexpected ways! Obviously I have no idea what other modules you own, but I would totally recommend the Doepfer A-156QNT Quantizer... it makes life with the 182 so much easier. No, this is how much of a nerd I am... I recognise the cables as those which come (came) with the Arturia BSP.... so, I assume you have one. Have you tried sending rhythms from one of the drum gates to the trigger in of the 182? It means you can have much more interesting sequences than the standard 8/16 step. Lastly, you might be interested to know that I and my musical partner Grace have a track called 56k Baud which features theWasp filter to make the "modem" sound... New subscriber.
Hiya, thanks for the feedback. Nice spot with the cables, you have a keen eye! Indeed i have a BSP. I bought a load of new bright pink cables but forgot to use them in the video. Thanks for recommending the Quantizer, Just this week I added a Disting MK4 to the setup that has quantizer among many other things. I never used one before. Also checked out your track, 56k baud took a listen, and very cool. +1 subscription for you!
Nice info
i love it
Trust me - Eventually you want the mixers and the multiples as that’s one of the best parts of modular - layering and treating multiple streams of audio to make some really complex waveforms. Plus if you get buffered multiples and the right mixer you can use them for CV as well as audio. It’s a journey but if you can learn soldering not to bad an investment if you get complete kits
Way ahead of you! Already got a mixer and i no longer use this case. Modules start to pile up quickly.
@@56kAudio-101I see no point in abandoning this case, as it saves a ton on modules - just get another case to add into it. But that’s just my opinion.
Hello, although there isn't any headphones output, is the audio quality good when you directly plug 6.3 headphones in the output channel ?
Hi there, yes it sounds great. I used the headphones called "OneOdio A71", you can find them on Amazon, and they have both the 3.5 and 6.3 connectors. If you input mono signals into the mixer it can turn it into stereo output.
i had a porblem. i can not using beatstep sequencer mode with nts?? can you do it? if you can you show with an video how?
i did it with using channel2 in arturia. i really don't understand something, but working.. lol
i did it!! ty so much:)) wuhu
thank you so so much :) from turkey.. tomorrow i will going big electronic bazaar places..
Have fun!
I like that module. CV mixer with attenuators is so convenient and allows control of those interesting cross-modulations nicely. Thanks for the demo 👍
i thought i could record with it but nope
What issue did you find with recording?
hey, thank you for the video. besides what's with the sequencer ? why are there 3 steps indicated?
Thanks for watching. Either its underpowered or broken. Not sure which, yet as I have not done any trouble shooting. It also stops working completely when I lower the tempo below a 1/3 of the way.
100€ ? That's half the price I am getting, where did you get it for that price ?
Hi, I got it on a local buy and sell site. So it was (maybe more) second hand.
Was the audio for this video recorded using your phone? My first camera was the OM1, purchased when introduced (sorry, first camera was actually a box brownie in primary school). I've used the quality metal-clad DM-670 audio recorder for some years, now using the LS-P5. Thank you for this review with its interesting challenges!
It sure was, i used a google pixal 7a,
Where did you get it so cheap ???
There was a crazy sale on the bundle "OM SYSTEM LS-P5 Wind Protection/Outdoor Kit" on amazon before Christmas. Seems to be back to the regular price now.
thank you
Great value, have two myself. 🎉
Hey. I wonder if this recorder has voice guidance Majority of voice recorders from Olympus, or OM system, use voice guidance. I’m actually a blind person that is interested in this recorder.
Hi. I went through the manual and I also browsed through the menu of the device, but I could find no reference to voice guidance. Sorry, but it seems like it doesn’t support it.
@@56kAudio-101 Ok, just wanted to make sure. Thank you for your time.
@@56kAudio-101 also, thanks for looking. I’m also planning on doing a video about voice recorders for the blind in general. It seems like the age of accessible voice recorders for blind people is dead.
@@KennethTheAwesomeBlindGuy777 That's a great idea, it could bring some attention onto the topic and get something done about it.
@@56kAudio-101 yeah.
