One of the first computer games I ever played and helped setthe tone for my gaming preferences to this date. Loved this game soooo much.
I just replayed this game and finally completed it. This making of felt like a really nice bonus content!
Thank you so much for this. I first played the demo on our Apple Mac in Xmas 1996 before my parents bought the full game the following year; I was nine at the time. I haven't played it now for quite some time, but I still have the discs as well as the demo file, and I love how the dialogue and music have stuck with me over the years . I'm hoping to play them both again in the near future. Of course, my new Mac laptop does not have a CD drive, so would downloading through the GOG website I''ve heard about or through Steam now be the best option? I would have wanted to find out from Scott who the character was pacing up and down the A-Deck promenade in the demo, who you could see after descending the stairs on the boat deck. It was fascinating trying to work out who it was. I also would like to know why they opted to not keep the music for the A-Deck cabins in the demo for the full game somewhere, as it was a wonderful, haunting track like the others. I also wonder if Cyberflix originally planned to create more rooms given the sign for the second class library, for example, which we were unable to enter. Anyway, a wonderful game that will stay with me. If you have any tips for running it on a new Mac by using an emulator, please let me know.
Any site we can find the newly done music, I love these songs

This needs to be on TV. Very well done
Back when moon lander's were made of aluminum foil and men were made of steel.
I love the atmosphere. To me it feels like a distant memory and like you're trapped, forever trying to ease your regrets and change your past.
This deserves 5 million views. Expertly done.
The music choice is so good that I find it very distracting! It’s hard to concentrate on the video.😂
Daisy Cashmore was indeed the game’s most terrifying feature. When you least expect it, she attacks from around a corner with endless streams of unwanted social gossip.
for me, this game was emblematic of better, more care free times of being a kid in the mid-90s, albeit fighting over “desktop time” with my older sister. This game was one that we both could play together and bond over. The 90s really was the last decade of the “halcyon days”. we didn’t know how lucky we were at the time.
I want to play this game again! Such a good time figuring out this game and its secrets
One of the greatest moments, achievements in humanity and it has 82K views in 5 years. Mr Beast's video about paying a guy $10k an hour to spend the night in a haunted house gets 50 Millions views in 1 day. Smh...
My childhood.....this game.
I used to play this game all the time, but I never beat it
My birthday is Halloween. I was born in 90. My dad bought me a computer, my mom gave me the game. And I'm 34 now and can't get out of it. I had this game when it came out. Doing my nth playthrough.
Also, where do I get that background?
Love Cyberflix for this. Amazing
And the music

also a 1990 baby, rediscovering this game on steam has been a joy. kudos to being a Halloween baby, I remember Halloween of 1996 being one of the best ever. Nowadays kids don’t even trick or treat. we had it so good, “kids nowadays don’t even know”
23:02 This is great. It's like a time capsule of how naive people from the 1990s were about history.
Im a fan of Dust and will definitely be playing this soon. Any game that has Buick Riviera 'man of many plans' is a must play
I cannot explain how much it warms my heart to have rediscovered this gem from my childhood. I was too young to properly play so i watched my dad, but these songs and images are core memories. Thank you
This was very well produced, and informative. I enjoyed it :)
The game felt very empty. There are so many places to visit, folders to open, faucets to turn on and off, you can even go on the bridge at one point. However there is nothing else to do in those places. Just eye candy, which I enjoyed none the less.
So could someone release a "remake" where they just run every single shot through an AI image enhancer? That would actually be amazing.
Gotta say it kinda bothers me that it’s not cut to be timed with contact the same way it is in the movie
Im from Knoxville myself and we took a tour of the studio back in the 90s. Was very saddened to hear of the closing, after the tour me and my friends from the neighborhood decided to try and make a game using hypercard. It was a hybrid of Myst and Titanic/Dust. It was actually decent for 12 year olds, but probably has been burned in a land fill by now lol. We also trolled people on the Cyberflix forums and would makes posts saying "CAN HELP IF UR STUCK, WILL REPLY IN 5 MINS" just to see the sheer number of replies we would get. We did this all on the local public library computer.
The game is for sale for $5.99 on steam. I remember we had the demo because my mom would never buy us the real game.
I thought this game was made for Windows 98. The fact that this was released in 1996 blows my mind!
Ok but what about GTE Entertainment? They were a part of this game but I thought GTE was a phone company?
Oreos? It would have made more sense to use Hydrox cookies, which came out four years earlier and were basically the same.
In the current cut of H&D's 401 demo, the cuff link is no longer in the chair on D deck, but there is a post-it note in the purser's office on C deck (were there post-it notes in 1912?) reading "REMINDER: find owner of cuff link found in reception"
The guy who gave Alfred Zeitel his face is an old friend of mine. We wound up working in the same office on a contract project for the government, and we became friends, sharing our employment stories and misadventures. I had no idea about his involvement with this game until he told me.
is he still alive?
That's wild, how's he been doing
7th Guest was the only other game comparable.
Maybe one day we can get introduced to Buick Riviera’s cousin, Mr. Cadillac Eldorado
This was brilliant! Great job 👏👏 For me when I was little it was always the music that really did it for me! Of course, the near empty ship and that feeling of loneliness was a major factor too haha, but that music... What a game! I saw that little Easter egg at the end of your video too! Haha. It's actually thanks to this game why I decided to build Titanic on Minecraft too! I'll soon be uploading C deck after a 4 or 5 year break! 😩😄
I remember seeing this for sale at Best Buy, I think it was before the movie came out, and it became my absolute favorite game as a 9 year old. Thanks for the memories!
43:42 fatty And yes, the creative director of Titanic: Honor and Glory and Project 401 is actually the world's biggest fan of this game.
I would LOVE to play a modern adventure game. I really think there is a market for it
33:41 small error, it's Franz not Francis
I'm glad they used that music, it was so atmospheric and really helped to set the tone
I'd never heard of Dust and kinda want to play now
I didn't know that about the casting either, cool!
It's so clever, I think it's quite groundbreaking for the time
This was so interesting. I have lots of fond memories playing the game as a kid!
I loved this game! I still have it on CD ROM but alas the discs are unreadable now. I never managed to complete it. I think I'll pop over to Steam and grab another copy 👍
When do I get me money!? WHEN!?
Great video. Loved this game when I was younger. Good to see the history and everyone’s love for it.
great video! shout out to all the romantic era classical music choices! they fit the game
