@@phillippearce9680 thank you
Clamp down next time. Dont hurt yourself my friend
Make some hooks and a grill for cooking
I hadn't even thought of that until someone else had suggested to me too.
Just got the Mig 180 from primeweld was wondering your thoughts 💭 on it . And if your wite speed fluctuates between 2 to 3 vaules say you want to go to 234 . Mine will go to 233 than jump too 236 . Gene from primeweld said this was normal . Was curious if yours did this .
I did do a review in a previous video. Still it's a good machine that I've put a lot of wire through. The speed thing I've heard about from one other person. My machine doesn't do that but it is about 2 years old.
@@HoodTimeWelding copy that thank you for your response. I do love my Primeweld just wanted to ask . Great videos 💯
@@charliehuntsman9827 thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it.
That’s a great project🎉
Thank you. I had a customer looking for something a little different. This is what I came up with. I should actually have it totally finished tomorrow so the video with that should be out Thursday, May 27 at noon. Have to see what you think of that.
trace it out with card board a nd cut new deck layers
I thought about that but you are still dealing with some different curves and depressions with one big piece. It was easier I think to piece it like I did.
@@HoodTimeWelding your probly right , it took me like 11 hours to do one of these . I used 1/8 for a little extra life span
Do the blades all balance out
I had no way to check them. What you might not have noticed and I didn't point out is the plates already on there had points where the bolts holding the rings in running through them. So this was part of the reason I didn't remove them. They were holding the pulleys in place.
Was that flux core wire or solid mig wire you were welding with ?
Solid wire .030 ER,70S-6
Turn the heat up a little bit
The bottom hupping up was more about me not being in practice on doing 2". Having to move quick and all. In the 9-12 and 3-12 the weld laid in the joint really nice.
Thank you for the very thorough review.
Sorry I didn't respond at the time but I really appreciate the feedback. I try to do honest reviews.
Are the edges sharp?
You do have to run the grinder down them quickly on thicker stuff. You can feel a little edge.
I made one out of 1/8 steel
Cool, thanks. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I got about 250 ties to install, this will make it easier.
Glad to hear I could help out!
What steel is the targets
1/2' thick mild steel, but it can be changed to meet people's needs.
Water pipe repair clamp!
That's where I got the thought. Looked for them and they cost $20 a piece and so I just made them.
that is really nice ideal
Thank you. I try to come up with something a little different on each of my giveaways on Facebook. If I get enough subscribers on here I'll probably start something on here to.
Thanks. I was considering it but don’t have a welder to prevent that cocking to the side.
I'm glad the video helped you make a decision.
that was a nice job you did
Thank you. I tried coming up with something a little different and the customer loved it.
I am looking for a 4" hole saw for going thru raised datacomm floors. Bi metal types, even new do not work. Any ideas?
These type of bits work on everything but concrete and cement so if you can find one in 4" I think you would be good. They chew right through steel no problem.

This was a fantastic review. I’m on the fence a little, been learning tig on this exact PW 225 tig and have been liking it. The customer service stories are a strong selling point.
I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I try to be informative. I also have a video of welding with it if you are interested.
thanks for that great info

nice job!
Thank you.
Looks amazing!!
Thank you
Yeah, I'm definitely experiencing workshop envy!
I got lucky that my neighbors sold it to me for a great price and we are able to afford it. I had looked on it enviously since I had moved in 2 years ago.
great job
Promo-SM 😆
👍💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you for the input.
You mentioned you lose cut capacity when cutting at 45 degrees. Would the saw cut 2x2 square tubing at 45 degrees?
If I remember correctly it will not but if you put it at 40 degrees it will. It just catches on the safety stop on the one side.
Could this go in solid rock tho. Is the drill powerful enough for solid rock
Truthfully I'm not sure. The concrete I was drilling was old stuff which is usually pretty hard in the center.
Can it drill through steel / metal?
It does function as a regular drill but I find it a bit high speed for that. You can feather the trigger a little to help with that.
that was good repaired. job
Thank you, I try.
Any reason why my primeweld 180 mig would suddenly start sputtering when I weld? I called they said it’s the settings but I have been using the same settings and suddenly it started sputtering. I use .024 for body work with 75/25 gas, clean tip and 20 scfh gas flow.
After thinking it over I thought of a couple of things. Maybe try to blow out the liner. Second maybe a kink in the liner. Check your feed wheels and the tensioner. Bad wrap on the roll of wire. Without being there sorry I can't help more.
Easier to understand seeing it in action. Good solution. 👍
Thank you for the feedback. It's nice to have a different perspective so I can make better videos.
that was good fabricating of a bandsaw
It was fabricating the stop for the bandsaw. It makes it still portable and you can use whatever steel you have on hand to a point.
Sorry to say, that's not a zero turn deck, that is off of a Cub Cadet LT1050, same shell, but this one is designed for a forward mounted engine, Zero Turn is rear engine. besides, the zero turn doesn't have the front wheel where the deck connects to the mower. I made this mistake, and I'm gonna have to weld the attachments off my old deck to retrofit the new one. The back latches are further apart on the RZT, and there is a pulley bracket mount that rests in between the two latches that pulley is the last pulley to touch the belt before it hits the motor/
Sorry, I was just going by what the customer told me. He had only brought the deck to me.
Question-What tools did/do you run that others had a hard time keeping up with but this one keeps up well? I ask because my little 3.6 SCFM 19 gallon has always struggled with many of my air tools but worked well until lately for painting cars. Since it's about worn out, I'm thinking of buying this 5.1 SCFM instead of the lower cost 21 gallon 4.0 SCFM in hopes that I may actually be able to run some of the heavy consumption tools at least a little better. It would be nice to be able to cut a small piece of metal or buff away gaskets without having to wait too many times for the tank to fill up.
I run my die grinder, needle scaler, and also my plasma arc machine. The plasma arc runs at around 70lbs pressure and it keeps up. It usually starts running after I get going but keeps up.
Thanks@@HoodTimeWelding
@greggc8088 you can get a tank ot buy a broken air compressor on offer up. Take the motor off, close it up, and connect it to your 21 gallon. Use it as an auxiliary tank. You'll have air
Nice repair but with your skills and tools, I’d make an all new base for that chair. Maybe in a sci-fi or steampunk style. Also, get a wood stove in there. Looks freezing.
I had my buddy heater going and it warmed up. I was thinking about a new base but they were talking about a new chair in a bit so I didn't want to go overboard. Thanks for the comment.
I have the Fortress 6 gallon just bought it. very nice
When I ordered my PW 285 they shipped it that day. I ordered it Monday morning it was here at my door in Minnesota Wednesday morning the same week. I love this welder.
My buddy recommended Primeweld to me and couldn’t be happier! I have the mig 180 and also have their cut60 plasma cutter and both have been great! I had the Titanium 170 and that is comparable but the downside is you only get a 90 day warranty. Great video and good review
Thank you. It's nice to hear.
I’m no engineer but it looks solid to me.
Thanks. The hole needed to be fixed for inspection to pass for the customer. I always try to go over the top.
On my short list for compressors. 👍
Just picked one up today.
Good review. Thanks.
I wish I could mig outside around here. 😆 Nice work!
I was lucky that day and it wasn't windy. The little I had I was able to block with my body.
@@HoodTimeWelding What state are you in? I live a couple miles from the ocean so it's windy from every angle here in Melbourne FL. I swear it rains upwards too.
I live in northwest PA.
great ideal
It's actually a customer design with a few refinements by me. I extended the bar down into the plate to give more support instead of doing a butt joint.
Have you tired using the MiG 180 on stick
I have not. I use it so much for MIG I give it a break when I have to stick weld. I will say the 225 runs stick great and since they are both made by Primeweld I think it would too.
👍🏻🔧💯
Just got one a day or two ago and have only had a chance to make a couple weird with it, does yours skip numbers when trying to put wire speed on a certain speed? Mine goes by like 4s when trying to adjust it nothing like the Miller or even titanium I have I’ve gotta message prime weld and see what they say just trying to see if anybody ride has same problem.
I haven't noticed that. Mine seems to dial in right at what I want.
@@HoodTimeWelding thanks for the reply back I figured that guess I gotta message them.
@@ab75901 you can also call. I had a problem with the whip , talked about it on my welding with video, and got answered right away.
@@HoodTimeWelding I may have to Monday but usually Dustin I think is his name messages back pretty fast and problems solved faster then I posted this, they have best customer service I have ever dealt with.
Well they were going to send a new one then he said that it’s normal for it to go in increments of 4 but haven’t got a response to why it barely welds 1/16 maxed out, my luck everybody loves there’s but I get a Chinese dud that they act like they don’t want to fix the problem 🤣
I got the Warrior drill first. Didn't like it was single speed. It was OK for lighter use and fine for smaller screw holes in masonry. But killed the motor quick drilling some bore holes in wood. Just didn't have enough torque so it went up in smoke. Should have got the Bauer from the get go.
Good video. So sad to see people spend money on a new deck or worse yet, ditch the whole mower when a few repairs/ mods will give years more of service out of the mower. Had to do the same last couple of weeks on two Husqvarna 46" decks, plus 1bent scalper wheel bracket. Another weak spot on these mowers is the front leading edge of the deck. There is a small tab, front center, that I believe is for attaching a grass catcher. It has a tendency to dig into high spots in the lawn and over time bends the leading edge inward, often to the point of hitting the blade tips. After straightening the leading edge back out, I bent the tab up, more out of the way, instead of removing it (might need to use it one day). There is also a round support bar that goes only "half way" across the front of the leading edge for support. I am welding a 1/2" x 3' (appx) pipe bent to shape from the end of the original across the front. I am also welding the ends to the scalper wheel brackets for more support. If yours is like that, maybe you could do a video on that mod for others to see.
This was just a customer's deck. Everything else looked good at the moment. I'll keep that in mind though. I also did another deck that I did a video on. Cub Cadet that time. Those seem to be weak around the spindles and like to rust there. Like you said, a little work and you can get decks to last longer. Saves money. Thanks for the comments.
