The Most Beautiful Kitefoil Ride I've Done!
This 2024 season the winds where excellent for Kitefoiling on Lake of two Mountains, Oka National Park, Quebec, Canada which gave me the chance to practice and progress.
Here is a very short video of The Most Beautiful Kitefoil Ride I've Done!
From Oka National Park, it is possible to kitefoil with most wind directions but the exception of North winds:
East winds from ``La Grande Plage`` Bay 10 km long and West winds from ``La Plage de la Crete``Bay 3 km long. North winds are offshore from both beaches and it is better to ride in ``Anse à L'Orme`` Bay or Vaudreuil Bay on the same Lake.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting together Kitefoiling with friends at Oka National Park on Lake of two Mountains in Quebec, Canada and in Platburgh Bay, Lake Champlain New York State, USA Please notice Wind was light most of the time and sails were from 10 to 15m depending on the front Foil Wing. Kitefoil is a real game changer giving access to kitesurfing with the lightest breeze and this precisely increase the number...

What an amazing feeling kite skiing whith the presence of a HALO. HALO is circle of white around the Sun caused by the refraction through Ice Crystals in the atmosphere. Magique!

``Foil Away` is a short video to help getting started kitefoiling in 3 wind directions I advise to start with: On Shore Wind because it is the safest even though more difficult to reach deep water because of the body drag and Side Shore Wind the easiest but could be risky to lose the board which can go away of the beach! Combining the first 2 situations of wind would give us: Side On Shore wind...

And Yes!! level of the water of Champlain Lake is very high because of a lot of rain and launching and landing a kite is Sketch(dangerous because no room on the beach)! This video is the second one of this list of Foil Progression. This summer wind is very light so I decided to practice behind the boat to progress. So I ride Gooffy or Regular and Slalom from one side to the other side of the wake of the boat which was tricky in the beginning but possible with some practice! This practice is very useful for Kite foiling and Wing Foiling which I do when wind com...

Boy, spring racing is different from middle of the winter hard snow! Looks awfully turny for a FIS GS course. Nice skiing by your athlete!
Exactly. On that day Snow was very Wet and near the end of the course skis were breaking, I had to spray wax his skis for a warmer temperature than it was prepared to adjust to the very hot temperature we got by surprise! It was so hot I was in Tshirt! Thanks for your comment
Greetings from a Saint Sauveur skier/snowboarder
Thanks
Great !!!
Thanks
He needs to be more patient when starting/finishing turns. His moves are not smooth, very nervous.
Thanks for the comment! Last season his coach has already worked with him on that point and Philip improved since! Please have a look at this video ua-cam.com/video/M8FQoHd6hSs/v-deo.html
So this is admittedly a nitpick, but FIS regulations allow 188 cm GS skis at the FIS level. The 193 cm requirement only comes into play for Continental Cup (NorAm), Junior Championships, and above. They used to allow 188s for men all the way up to the World Cup level, but they eliminated that option at the same time as they reduced the minimum radius from 35 -> 30 meters. Great job to Philip getting down and getting points! Rock-hard FIS courses like that are a whole different universe.
The information you are providing is excellent and more precise than the broader point I gave! You are right to say that if Philip wanted to race on his first year with 188 cm GS and 157 cm SL he could. I saw other first year athletes racing on 188cm and 157 cm! Because he has the choice at his age 16, Philip tested a lot of skis last year of different sizes and brands and he chose GS 193cm and SL 165cm !!! Actually Philip was already skiing U16 in SG with 193cm GS and loved them and later during the season he tested the 188 cm so he told me, Please I want another same ski! Luckily 193cm is the rule for NorAm(Continental) and it is playing to his advantage even though he is not their yet! Philip loves longer skis!
@@georgeskassir6117 Yup, absolutely. He avoids another adjustment if he moves up to NorAm or is selected to Junior Worlds.
good
Thanks
Ça l'air le fun de profiter d'un plan d'eau comme celui-là. 😊
Much better
Niceee! Va falloir que tu me montre ton setup de caméra next time 💙
Thats what I call seriously foiling around. Foil kite on a hydrofoil.

Thank you all for your interesting comments. Here is Philip free skiing one year later after a strong progression in his ski carving and racing results ua-cam.com/video/M8FQoHd6hSs/v-deo.html He is skiing on the same Run at Sommet Saint-Sauveur: Nordic which is used every year for FIS Slalom Races.
From the clip at the end, the transition and release way too late. Edging should start at the high C not near the fall line.
I agree. Thanks for the comment, and what about these runs in Progression2 Philip is already working to improve being earlier on his transition? ua-cam.com/video/AO7plhi3WIo/v-deo.html
Yes!!!!
thanks for watching. Here is his new video: ua-cam.com/video/AO7plhi3WIo/v-deo.html
Not bad, but there is a drop in the heels.
Thanks, I agree about the ``drop in the heels`` and the skier Philip is working on it to improve it. In this second video don't you think that he is more dynamically centered ? ua-cam.com/video/AO7plhi3WIo/v-deo.html Actually These videos are for watching progression at this level of skiing and the best way to benefit from it is to compare Video Progression 1 versus Video Progression 2 Versus Video Progression 3 etc...
Some one should softer this kids boots so he can get off the toilet
How much time do you need to get to this level?
Philip started ski carving in U10 (Under 10 years old)and in this video he is at his Seventh ski season u16(Under 16). And he skis a minimum of 60 days per season. I hope it gives you an idea.
Well done, Georges, tu semble a bien maîtriser toutes la patente ! cheers
incredible place, the camera shots and entire vibe is magnificent . LOVE it
Merci Georges, super beau. Le kite me manque !!!
it was on the 3rd of Marsh 2022 after snowstorm. Snow Kiting was awesome

Merci
GOOD SKI!!
Impressionnant !
now you just need to add the kite :-) il reste juste d'ajouter le kite :-)
