Welcome to Kraken Up Games!
For nearly a decade, I’ve been crafting games in Unity, but until now, most of my work has never seen the light of day. Like many creators, I have countless unfinished projects and prototypes hidden away. This channel is my way of breaking that cycle.
Here, I’ll share my game development process, showcase projects I’ve never shared before, and document my efforts to grow as a developer. Whether it’s receiving feedback to improve or staying accountable to finish what I start, this channel is all about embracing the challenge of creating and sharing.
Join me as I take the next steps toward becoming the game developer I’ve always aspired to be-learning, failing, and succeeding, one game at a time.

I am very excited to finally showcase Paradise Defense Force! It's been a long time coming, but I'm proud of the game I've made.
I’ll walk you through the systems that make up the core gameplay, from player movement and spells to smarter enemies and wave mechanics. There’s still a ton to do, but I’m happy with how things are shaping up so far. Check it out and let me know what you think-I’d love your feedback!
Thank you for watching, and joining me on this journey!

I realy like the videoediting. The soundeffects are suddle but approciate and the drawings are enhancing the quality of the video tremedously.👍
Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad you like it!
good luck on your journey.
nice
So its a bunch of free assets
Yes, I use assets. However, I’m using assets that I paid for. And I’m using animations from mixamo. Creating assets is not something that I am capable of doing. The models and animations I’m using were created to be used, so why wouldn’t I use them? Plus, I mention the use of assets in the full video. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Nobody gives a shit
Maybe. But that’s okay
talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it
What are your honest thoughts so far?
Artstyle looks generic tbh
@@two_dymensional you’re absolutely right. It is generic, but I’m limited to the assets that I’ve paid for. At least for now. Unfortunately I don’t have the artistic talent to create stylized models. The game is still very early in development and a lot of what you see is subject to change. Thank you for your honest feedback!
@KrakenUpGames wish you the best of luck
all the people just commenting but didnt notice the sound being "All i want from KRIMA... is YOOOOOOOOOU-"
Lmao I’m so glad someone caught that
i love *KRIMA.*@@KrakenUpGames
My brain melted trying to comprehend what that would look kike
Yo just for next time maybe don’t start with the add footage. Almost scrolled past😂. Would love to see this project. Keep it up king
Haha I was worried about that! I’ll definitely think twice next time. Thank you for sticking around!
Omg same i almost skipped iy
Yeah, I scrolled past thinking it was an ad, but noticed the little pop up at the bottom of the next short after an ad wasn't there, so a scrolled back up to realize it wasn't an ad 😅
Your stuff just popped into my Feed. My first thought was Adhd? But jokes aside good luck! Subbed for support. :P
Haha! Nailed it! Makes things hard for sure. Thank you for the support!
For the Algorithm!
🙌🙌 Thank you!
For the Algorithm!
You got it man, same struggles here, but it'll be worth it in the end.
Thank you so much! We’ll get there!
Looks awesome man! Hope it goes well
Thank you!
Gl on releasing the game :)
Thanks!
This video showed up in my recommended and I wanted to wish you luck in your development adventure. You are super mature for not only realizing your mistakes, but for working to correct them. I love the idea of creating a game, but don't have the mental fortitude/know-how to do so. Big props to you! The only thing/advice I would give would be in relation to creating a steam page so early. If I were in your shoes, I would have waited until I had a more solid grasp on the game I wanted to create, and more to show for it before pushing it out into the public. Putting it out so early could create more pressure on you and could cause the average consumer to have unrealistic expectations for the game. But, I'm not a game developer, and you already have the page up, so I'm hopeful that it's more of a source of motivation/inspiration instead of a worry for you. I dropped a like and subscribe and look forward to seeing any video updates you might put out! <3
Wow! Thank you very much for the kind words! I think you're absolutely right about the steam page. Originally, I had created only a few months before I planned on releasing the game, but then as things progressed, it became increasingly clear that things weren't going to go that way. Like you said, it's there. And there isn't anything I can do about it now. It definitely puts pressure on me to get the game out there, but I have to look at that as positive pressure since there's no going back now. I will definitely use it as motivation to continue. Thank you again!
@@KrakenUpGames That's great to hear! I'm happy you're looking at it like positive pressure. I'm sure when you can finally update the page with your updated version of the game, you'll feel so accomplished. I'm rooting for you. Thank you for replying!
Good job on restarting the project, in my opinion the most important thing for a game is to make it modular.
Yes! I learned that too late. But better late than never! Thanks for the support!
Thank you for all the support in the last video! I know it looks like a step down visually, but the new Paradise Defense Force has solid systems in place which will make it easier to grow!
your games on awesome
Thank you!
I have some unfinished games too, doing devlogs is great to push yourself into finishing them as long as you have time to
Devlogs are definitely a great idea! Thank you for the encouragement!
Not sure how I found this video, but I subscribed and will gladly wait for your next videos. One thing that can keep you motivated is probably video devlogs
Well I’m glad that you found the video! Thank you very much! I think devlogs are a great idea. Hopefully I’ll be posting the first by this weekend
already subscribed !
Thank you!
what mic do you use nice vid
Thank you! I use an outdated Audio Technica AT2020 XLR through a behringer U-Phoria um2
Like many successful people, you will have projects that fail or are not finished but that's just part of learning. I think you are capable of creating and publishing a game and I am subscribing to see that moment!
You’re absolutely right! Thank you for the support!
were rooting for you my friend
Thank you!
I got you. Devs help each other out.
Hell yeah! Thank you!
is bros mom in the comments?
Lmao that's my girlfriend. She's being supportive!
regardless, this person has bunch of potential. It's just that he need some motivating force to be consistent. Well same in my case lol.
@@KrakenUpGames i assumed lmao the "i am so proud" just reminded me of
Keep it up! I'm in a similar situation as you. Never shown anyone any projects I've worked on from multiple engines and nearly a decade of messing around. I think your taking the right step. I hope to do the same one day. You have way more to show than me from the clips you just showed. I'm bad about going down rabbit holes trying to understand fundamentals instead of just creating. I say that to encourage you and not to beat myself up.
Thank you for the kind words! Honestly, having a strong grasp on the fundamentals is important to letting your creativity run wild! Part of why I'm making these videos now is because I was encouraged by the community of game designers and developers that I see on here, and I hope to be that encouragement to someone else some day.
Nice work! Keep pushing, and maybe link your steam game?
Thank you! I considered it, but i didn't for two reasons. I didn't want this video to come across as promoting the game. That wasn't the intent. And I want to update the steam page before I link it. I'm working on another video about that specific game, so maybe I'll link it then!
most talented person i know! i am so so so proud❤️
