Does the points cover just pop out? I can't find any fasteners for mine.

I'm running a 1275 and s&s superstock heads, stock cams, drag pipes, 45mm cv, it's bad, ypu need to either tune or jet out shouldn't be running fat....

I like sportsters because there light and nimble and overall fun if someone needs a big heavy bike get 1 then but I at this time anyway like the lightness of these bikes and price range is great too

I totally agree with if you want to use religion as a reason not to...you don't get to tell everyone else they can't... especially as concerning marriage, and abortion....or any other "sin" ....some should definitely be accountable for certain sins/crimes but yeah it's not just a easy one line issue nor solutions

I have the same exhaust, filter and tuner and yes it pops all the time. Mine even cuts out at times but I’ve had two dealers say it the setup and the only way to fix it is go with a less “extreme” exhaust and intake or after market tuner which would void my warranty. I really feel the cutting out is another issue but they insist that’s what it is. Guess I’ll find out if I’m screwed when the warranty is up and if I have to shell out money to fix an issue they claim isn’t an issue.

Your headlight is mounted to the brow like on a normal sporty,there is a bolt that comes up to mount the cowl too. I keep burning out the rear signal lights on my 1200. Cobra 909 Speedsters sound really good on my 1200. Always good to keep it plugged into a trickle charger

Thank you for this video, I used to drive this every day from a young boy till I moved to Florida, my dad was raised on this road at the Spa farm raising tobacco, we lived in winchester and I cut my teeth driving on this road in a 76 firebird, my dad finally moved to be close to the Spa farm and you actually pass his house. I ve been gone for 25 years now and I want to get back and drive these old Ky roads again. Its a awesome drive you did. Thank you.

I like the sporties too, i rode sportbikes when I was young so I like the handling of the sportsters over a large heavy bike. The 1200 is plenty fast for me. Beautiful bike man

I was around during the AMF years. I bought a new sportster right off the floor in 77. In the first year of ownership I went through 3 starters, the plastic for the points broke on me on the way back from Florida. The oil puked down my right leg at a stop light. On the third starter malfunction I traded it in on a 76 KZ900. I've just bought the Iron 1200 in 2018. I've modded it out myself. It hasn't been to a Harley dealership yet. The new Harley's are even better then ever.. I've own a 01 Deuce, a 2015 Street Glide and I have a 2017 Street Glide now also. I've owned Kawasaki's, Honda's, Suzuki's, Triumph's, and I also have a Yamaha XT250. I would rather ride a Harley but If they start building crap again I will move on to Indian. At 67 I still buy motorcycles.

That is one of the best looking iron 1200s I’ve seen so far! The black tank with the lift and wire tuck is sweet.
