Misfortune definitely feels like a real cost in Dominions 6. Still easier to dump than scales your nation needs to expand, but especially early game when you don't have a ton of provinces, it can cost a lot of momentum.

Dom 1 versus Dom 8 discussion is a false dichotomy prevalent in the Dom 6 community. There are good arguments for say Dom 3 or 4 depending on pretender, bless and scales

1:01:35 I never suicide a twice born mage. I just send them into battle. Them dying is inevitable. Same with any blood hunter if he has death paths when he comes back he can retire.

Painful ending, but such a good battle. It makes some sense that false damage gets dispelled by twilight, but also kind of sucks.

Happy to see another full game series from you! On video length: I like videos with more turns in them for expansion, but one or two turns in a video once things start to get more complex is good

Love this, found you because we're also in an asphodel MP, they're such a fun nation. Did you consider not prophetizing your starting centaur and waiting for a freespawn commander?

Did anyone ever do heavy testing on the Asphodel reanimation and freespawn for the current Asphodel? I tried doing some testing and my results were all over the place… probably need a much larger sample size to see the effects of the different scale values. Also, desperate to find a trick to make darkseed work faster.

I've had a minor disagreement with somebody before about afflictions. That taking just a bit of earth magic for affliction res is good when you have regen just to reduce the chances as much as possible. Because of this. You have E7 and regen and this fuggin elephant still got afflicted by heavy cav. What a world we live in for that rng.

I really hate the order of operations for twilight falling. Attacker/defender should rout, then twilight should fall a few dozen turns afterwards.

Cool battle, so I take false damage don't trigger blood vengeance? Makes sense really. Also, pretender SC death from time out because of enemy crippled unit is a classic, that I think most experienced players have been hit by at least once.

I still haven’t had a chance to play Asphodel in MP, so this should be a fun series. I'm going to guess that you become a terror around turn 20 or so but drop off in the late game - or you get coalitioned, which is always a fun time. 😂

They've changed the elephant idol to be a minimum imprisonment of dormant. So you're not seeing him until turn 12.

Asphodel has done really well in the MP games I've seen them, maybe due to people not recruiting indy priests or coalitioning them early, but they seem to generate an absurd amount of freespawn.

The problem with Dryan Hags is that they get old age as soon as you recruit them...

hmm I was sure I had notification bell turned on... glad to see that a lot of the old guard likes Asphodel and want to play it. Can't wait for someone to win using the new Therodos though that will be hard because of the ethereal nerf...

They should allow growth terraforming to counter pop kill nations. If you have a counter there will be a lot less banning.

Oh Asphodel, the red headed stop child of Dominions 5! They're better in Dom6 and I think more playable now.

This really just shows the level of strategic depth that this game has, holy cow. I'm pretty new to the series and Ill be honest my mindset is so conventional that when I saw the stacks I thought there was no way you could deal with that lmao. Ill take more time to study the magic system in this game, it seems far more flexible, powerful, and interesting than I thought.
