If you've ever wanted to know what the supercharger whine sounds like from a Roush phase 2, then here you go. At the time this video was taken, the car had mild mods, which included a full Flowmaster 44 catback exhaust, throttle body and tune pushing around 800hp at the crank.

Any cons?
The only con, for me anyway, is 1st gear can be tricky to take off from a light, so you have to raise RPMs so the car doesn't start bucking. Could also be because I have a triple disc Mantic clutch that is very grabby

The coyotes already have aggressive cams factory. Do you know how a factory cam and lockout combo would sound?
I personally do not. The reason I went with aftermarket cams is because of the performance increase. The stock cams are low to mid torque. I went mid to high torque to help with launch. Better launch and higher torque down the track
Look up a ghost cammed coyote and there is your answer. A ghost cam does the same thing as lockouts. It parks the cams at a given angle electronically, so in other words it disconnects the vct at idle to make it chop. However unless you’re making a ton of hp it doesn’t make sense to put lockouts on your cams. You’ll lose a bunch of low and mid range power because you won’t have the vct to optimize cam position at the lower rpm’s. If you want it to chop with stock cams and you’re not making a ton of power just have your tuner give you a ghost cam tune and you’ll be good.
@@ThrottleHavoche’s 1000+ horsepower at the wheel, this cam swap is for high rpm power not primarily for sound so the ghost cam wouldn’t do him any good

I answered his question, I don’t understand what your reply is getting at? A ghost cam is electronically locking out the cams so they cause the car to chop at idle Many coyote owners do it and that’s what it would sound like if the stock cams were locked out manually. Ghost cams have no performance benefit, just sound. I still don’t get what your reply has to do with my comments lol. Yes high power super aggressive cars are better off deleting the vct but in most cases it’s not worth the loss in low and midrange power for most people.
What was the power/ time slip difference compared to the stock cams im looking to get a set myself but alot of people say otherwise about getting cams
I can't say 100%, however because the cams made my engine breath a ton better, I was able to add 2psi of boost. On the dyno the car ranges from 1017whp to 1030whp depending on air density. I will say that I had to re-learn the behaviors of the car after the cams. Run great, just have to slip the clutch more. Before the cams I was at 925whp.

Your car won’t chop like this without lockouts or a ghost cam which has the same effect as lockouts at idle but it’s electronic. Don’t think you can just drop cams into a dohc vct engine and it will chop like this.

Yes they are spec'd to my car, perfectly degreed and checked for valve to cylinder clearance. You might be able to contact Todd Warren who designed them and get a set. Search for him in Beavercreek Ohio on Facebook. I don't have his info handy

This car sounds MEAN! Is this on pump 93 or e85? Also, how is the daily drivability with the cams locked out? Who tuned it? I have a Gen 3 Aluminator 9.5:1 with LM1 cams locked out I’m just about finished building. Sweet car man
Most of the details are in the description. RGR lockouts, E85, drivability is good. Starting off a traffic light can be a little tricky because the clutch is so grabby, Brandon with Lund tuned the car

@@briangarcia5.0 Coyotes do with a lockout, when I decided to do cams I ordered lockout kit and did it all at same time. People think my fox is an SBF... it sounds nasty. I get compliments on sound all the time.

That’s the best cammed coyote I heard yet. What model spec cams are these? I have a 2014 Procharged 5.0 GT - I’m building a 9.5:1 Gen 3 Aluminator with Gen 2 heads and I want to put these cams and lockouts in my new build. How’s daily around town driving?
The cams are a custom spec from Todd Warren who designed the 7.3L Gozilla cams. He took my specs and had Comp Cams grind new cams to the specs. The biggest difference was having to disable VCT. Drive ability is good with the occasional challenge from a dead stop. I have a mantic triple disc so once it's hot, it grabs like a bitch! Still, very pleased!

Where did you order your cams from?
They were custom cams designed by Todd Warren who has Comp Cams grind them to his specs. Todd is the guy who Ford hired to develop the cams for the 7.3L Godzilla motor
how have the lockouts affected driveability? Any issues moving around town? I'm interested and hearing how your experience has been since not many people have lockouts
It's all about the tune. Lund tuned the car. I think it drives better without the VCT. When you have high horsepower(1000whp) applications like myself, the VCT starts to interfere. I agree that there aren't many S550s with lockouts. Been a wonderful experience
that whine sounds exactly like the supercharger in the 2019-20 shelby supersnake. 😁
