Today we will be talking with Preston about his new book Exiles: The Church in the Shadow of the Empire.
CONVERSATION QUESTIONS
What would your journey like in writing this book and your political journey?
What is this book about and what do you hope people will take away from it?
Before we dive into some of the content and exegesis of the book, could you explain some of the terms you use such as Empire and Babylon? And do you see these as paradigms? (People will often claim that America is not an empire or is not like Babylon as a democracy to a constitutional republic)
Let’s dive into some of the OT context of your book. Tell us about Israel in the OT and how they were supposed to be an upside down kingdom of priests
Chapter 3 really gets into the concept of exile and Babylon and how were the Jews called to respond to Babylon in exile?
Chapters 4 and 5 are all about Jesus and how his kingdom is not like this world’s kingdom. Walk us through how Jesus subverts the Empire with his kingdom?
Throughout the NT the proclamation of the Gospel is politically subversive. Speak a little to this then and how should it be this way today as well
We know Exile was definitely a OT and Israel thing but where do we find this concept of being exiles in the NT for the church. Also, I find when people read exile language in the NT they just see it as spiritual (This world is not my home, I’m just passing through- going to heaven) rather than about citizenship now.
The book of Revelation maybe one of the most politically subversive books in the NT but many modern evangelical readers do not interpret it that way. But scholars such as yourself, Scot McKnight, and Michael Gorman are bring out the political nature of the letter. Walk us through some of the themes in Revelation and how this applies to living as exiles
You begin the book with: “Going to church should be a subversive political act”. Speak a little to the three approaches you bring up in the book Separatism, transformation, and prophetic witness. How should the church be the church in the world, especially politically? (Eklessia)
So let’s get to the practical part of this book in Chapter 10 where you look at what it might look like to live as an exile today, as a prophetic witness. What about:
• Abortion
• Political parties
• Immigration
• Pledging allegiance to the flag

This would have been much better without the commentary and interjections of “how we think”. Just get to the point. I had to put this on 2x speed to get through it. I’m not sure what you think “everyone” has missed, but I was never confused. I 45 years old and have been taught this throughout my walk. Some of what you said is opinion but for the most part I think your overall point is there was and is a heavenly host and counsel. You could have just said that.

You are wrong - Heiser was right.

'll just post Psalm 82, because that is what Heiser is famous for, This is for people to read, so Jesus can be shown and exalted, instead of a mere man like Heiser. Who do you chose the scholar or the Shepherd????..........The Shepherd makes more sense and is the Right choice. Mike Heiser is 100% wrong on Psalm 82 and misleads so many on this. The Scene of Psalm 82 is on the earth. Heiser likes to use Psalm 89 and 1 Kings 22 becasue the scene is in the realm of Heaven, probably the throne room and has NOTHING to do with Psalm 82 which is on the Earth. Jesus answers the question on who the Psalm 82 "gods" are in John 10, of whom Heiser ALWAYS IGNORE!!!!! Jesus quotes and repeats what God the Father had spoken thru the Inspired Prophet Asaph, Again Asaph wrote in Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.” Jesus says in John 10:34 “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods”. Here in John 10:34 Jesus links himself to the same God (Father) in Psalm 82. Prophets were the VOICE of God in the OT, God would SPEAK thru them. Prophets handled and carried the words of God to write down and also to Speak the words of God to the nation of Isarael (Jews). John 10: 35>>> " If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came and the Scripture cannot be broken" Notice in this verse mentions the "word of God" Jesus Links himself to the same God that spoken thru the Prophet Asaph in Psalm 82. Psalm 82 is for the Jews and directed to the Jews. Asaph the prophet wrote Psalm 82. Asaph was the voice of God in Psalm 82. The Jews received the word of God from Prophets as well as the law. The word of God and the law was for the nation of Israel (Jews). The Divine council, more specific would be Jewish Judges and Rulers, because they had the law to judge and rule with, so that would be a HUMAN Divine Council, NOT a non human (angels) Divine Council that Mr. Heiser promotes. Heiser's Divine Council theory is sensationalism, meaning he is not accurate. Heiser is TOTALLY false on his Divine Coucil Theory. This is also fulfilled prophetic words fulfilled by Jesus so scripture cannnot be broken with OT scripture and NT scripture, Psalm 82 "gods" are Linked with the John 10 "gods" so the gods are human in both Psalm 82 and John 10. Jesus is addressing Humans ("gods") in John 10, Probably Jewish rulers. The phrase and title given "you are gods" is a legalistic title of Authority because the Jews were given the Law and as well as judge with the law. The Jews were given the Law and 10 commandments to govern them and council them, so it is imposible for this to be nonhuman spirit beings or angels. God also established covenants with Humans, not nonhuman spirit beings or angels. In John 10 Jesus is equating Himself to the same God in Psalm 82, Jesus uses an "I said" statement. Let's focus in on the words Jesus uses,. He uses an ‘I said”. The “I said” stament is no different than an “I am” statement. The “I am” statemanets and “I said” statement of Jesus in the Gospel of John are really one and the same. These are not metaphors; rather, they are declarations of God’s name, as applied by Jesus to Himself. The first instance of an “I am” comes as Jesus responds to a complaint by the Pharisees. “I tell you the truth,” Jesus says, “before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58). The verbs Jesus uses are in stark contrast with each other: Abraham was, but I am. There is no doubt that the Jews understood Jesus’ claim to be the eternal God incarnate, because they took up stones to kill Him (verse 59 that would be blasphemy to the Jews because Jesus made Himself out to be God). The same logic is applied to John 10:35, Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” which directly comes from Psalm 82:6 I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High.” The word children in verse 6 can also means "sons", how this is used is in an "ADOPTED' sense and use of the word....Again that would be 'Human", NOT non human like Heiser promotes. A person can clearly see in Psalm 82 and in John 10 it would be Jews being addressed, not nonhuman spirit beings or angels, like some promote, which Mr. Heiser is Huge on, this made him famous. Heiser is a blind teacher. Smart on Hebrew language and how to speak (Very Inticing and Luring), But bad on Application and Interpretation. Focusing more on John 10 Jesus is using a figure of speech for the sheep to "HEAR" His Voice with 2 of the "I am" statements Jesus uses. John 10: 3 To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice." Heiser and so many IGNORE the voice of God, whether it is the Voice of God thru the prophet Asaph in Psalm 82 ("gods") or the Voice of God from Jesus in John 10 (god's), Jesus is God the 2nd person of the Godhead (Trinity). There are 3 persons in the Godhead>>>>Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This all in CONTEXT because the "I said" statement" in John 10: 35 " “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods”>>>>>> Jesus as the Gate/Door and Good Shepherd John 10: 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10: 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10: 16 " And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd." >>>>>>>>>>> Jesus is speaking ot TWO flocks of sheep, One flock are Jews and the other flock are Gentiles. The Shephard lays His life down for His sheep>>>>>>John 10: 17,18 "For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.” Basically Jesus being the Good Shepherd the sheep would hear the voice of the Shepherd with the "I said" statement of Jesus in John 10: 35, which refers to Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods. The gods in Psalm 82 are 100% human, just like John 10 the gods are 100% human, not non human in Psalm 82 like Heiser promotes. When reading John 10 Heiser would be the "Thief" that is discribed. Johyn 10: 10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." Heiser's blindness of the "Voice" of God whether by the prophet Asaph in Psalm 82 or in John 10 makes him apostate, he litteraly robs and steals the word of God, which is fulfilled by Jesus. Hieser actually destroys Truth and the Promise of Jesus fulfilling the words of God on who the "gods" are in Psalm 82. What Heiser Ignores In John 10 and Psalm 82 1. The law (Authority for the Jews and Jewish Elders/Judges) Also see In Exodus 22:8 & 9 here is where a person can find how the role of these Elders/Judges ("gods" or "elohim), established by Moses. The law was given to Moses. 2. The prophet (Asaph wrote Psalm 82)....Prophets were given the word of the Lord in the OT, they carried and handled God's words to be directed to the Jews. Prophets were the VOICE of God in the OT, God spokle thru them. 3. The " I said" (word/Word of the Lord Written/Spoken thru Prophets in OT Revealed in NT Word bacame Flesh (John 1)>>>>Jesus/Son). 4. Linking OT Scripture with NT Scripture (Scripture cannot be broken). John 10: 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)" The word of the Lord and the Law came to the Jews (Human) 5. Psalm 82 and John 10 are directed to Jews, NOT nonhuman spirit being or angels like Mr. Heiser promotes. 6. Explainig the Godhead/Trinity as always existed even before creation, Father, Son, Holy Spirit are THREE persons of ONE and the SAME God, 7. Expalining since the Jews had this law of God and from God, Puts them in a High level of Authority to Judge and carry out the law of God and represent God, but they will die like men becasue they do a poor job of representing God and the law. Heiser is an expert in Apostasy and misleads many on his teaching, because he is BLIND and also DEF. I have studied Scripture for more than 20 years and Mr. Heiser is probably the biggest heretics on Psalm 82. I listen to Heiser becaus of his error, his error leads a person to the Truth. You can not look at people who have that have degrees like Heiser does, that is the problem with people, because people do not study scripture for themselves, they beleive what some so called scholar says. Jesus gives the Death Blow to Mike Heiser's FALSE Teaching of Psalm 82:6 “I said, you are gods.” , in John 10........Jesus Says.......... "Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods”in John 10: 34. the gods (elohim, little g) are human!!!! Jesus answers the gods in Psalm 82 long before Mr. Heiser was even born. A person has to listen and hear the WORDS and the VOICE of the SHEPHERD!!!!!! Heiser is a sheep that has gone astray and so many follow him.

Deuteronomy 32 Genesis 6 sons of God Explained!! Heiser is correct when he said it should be sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8. Heiser was a word guy the Hebrew would be >>>>(בני האלהים‎, bənê hāʼĕlōhîm<<<< So Heiser "Translation" is Correct, But Heiser's "Application" is Incorrect. To touch on the Greek Septuagint is in ERROR, becasue it put angels in the text, reason why is the Greeks believed that the pagan god Zeus (king of the gods), married and impregnated mortal human woman Alcmene and she gave birth to Heracles. So a person can see instead of Zeus, that angels was the thought in the Greek Septuagint, because of Greek Mythology. This thought was inserted into sons of God of Genesis which is an ERROR. Why Application is Incorrect is because of the Context. A person Cannot just look at verse 8. Let's look at more Context with verse 7 included. Deuteronomy 32 7 Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you. 8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. KEY words are "MANY GENERATIONS" in verse 7 this is all in CONTEXT. One Translation may use "sons of God" may another may use "children of Israel". The sons of God are found in Genesis 5 the years of Many Generations. Many people do not NOT recognize " The Years of MANY GENERATIONS" in verse 7. Where you find " The Years of MANY GENERATIONS" is in Genesis 5. The Patriarchs of Genesis 5 are the sons of God, listed from Adam to Noah which is Genesis 5. What is posted is chapter and verse with the years of Many Generations that they lived. Here they are for you, look at the longivity of Life they had and would have saw "Many Generations" (Deuteronomy 32:7), this just makes sense. Also what is list is up to Jacob (Israel). 1) Adam (Genesis 5:3-5) Lived: 930 Years. 12) Arphaxad (Genesis 11: 12-13) Lived 438 Years 2) Seth (Genesis 5:3, 6-8) Lived: 912 Years. 13) Shelah Genesis (11: 14-15) Lived 433 Years 3) Enosh (Genesis 5:6, 9-11) Lived: 905 Years. 14) Eber Genesis (11: 16-17) Lived 464 Years 4) Cainan (Genesis 5:9, 12-14) Lived: 910 Years. 15) Peleg Genesis (11: 18-19) Lived 239 Years 5) Mahalalel (Genesis 5:12, 15-18) Lived 895 Years. 16) Reu Genesis (11: 20-21) Lived 239 Years 6) Jared (Genesis 5:15, 18-20) Lived 962 Years. 17) Serug Genesis (11: 22-23) Lived 230 Years 7) Enoch (Genesis 5:18, 21-24) Lived 365 Years/Translated never saw death. 18) Nahor Genesis (11: 22-23) Lived 148 Years 8) Methuselah (Genesis 5:21, 25-27) Lived 969 Years. 19) Terah Genesis (11: 32) Lived 205 Years 9) Lamech (Genesis 5: 25, 28-31) Lived 777 Years. 20) Abram (Abraham) (Genesis 25: 7) Lived 175 Years 10) Noah (Genesis 5:28-29) Lived 950 Years. 21) Isaac (Genesis 25: 7) Lived 180 Years 11) Shem (Genesis 10:10-11) Lived 600 Years. 22) Jacob (Israel) (Genesis 47: 28) Lived 147 Years Genesis 5 would also be in Context with the sons of God of Genesis 6. When scripture was first written in Hebrew there was NO Chapter Breaks or Verse Breaks. Today with Chapter Breaks and Verse Breaks it is easier to look up passages of scripture. Another Point with verse 7 of Dueteronomy 32 is >>>>"Remember the days of old". Since Moses wrote Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, which are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These "days of old" that Moses mention in verse 7, what Moses is doing is taking the reader back to the Pre-flood time period. Taking Verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) Can 100% be applied as "sons of God" in Deuteronomy 32:8 as well as Genesis 5 and sons of God in Genesis 6. All makes sense and fits with the Author of Torah who is Moses. The argument is, is that there No Abrahamic covenant yet, that is 100% true when a person applies verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) it is more clear and plain to see who the "sons of God" are in both Deuteronomy 32:8 and Genesis 6 Nations are named after a father in scripture. Abraham is considered a father. Jacob (Israel) is the father of the twelve tribes. Explaining sons of Israel. Exodus 4:22 says "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son". God is speaking to Moses in this passage, also this is another book of Torah. The passage of scripture of the name change for Jacob to Israel Genesis 32:28 "Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Israel (Jacob) had 12 sons which would be 12 tirbes with Many Generations. Getting back to Exodus 4:22 says "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son". Since Israel was the "firstborn son" to the Lord God, which would means Israel/Jacobs offspring would be "sons of God" or also to say "children of Israel" The twelve tribes are as follows: Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Ephraim and Manasseh. See how many Generations came from Isreal (Jacob) Even the following verses of how the "Text" allows for "sons of Israel" . Deuteromony 32:9 'But the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. 10 “He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him" Clearly verses 9 and 10 is talking about the "sons of Israel" which would be Jacob's 12 sons/tribes, key words in the text Jacob alotted heritage (Israel). "The Lord's portion is his people" Israel was the Lord's Chosen people The 12 tribes were the ones wondering in the desert land which verse 10 is talking about. That is WHY there is such a debate in the text, both sons of God and children of Israel had "Many Generations". Heiser's divine council of watchers/super angels Can Not or Do Not have "Many Generations" Even looking at Psalm 82:6 "I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;" The word "sons" is used in the Plurality, which would be referencing that the "sons" are human pretaining to the 12 tribes of Israel (Jacob's sons). The word "gods" Jesus answers that in John 10 also human. Heiser taught gods/elohim and sons are non human, Psalm 82 is his foundation for his false divine council of watchers/super angels. These 12 tirbes (Israel) had the Law of God to govern the people. Elders/Rulers/Judges (gods/elohim/divine council) were part of that governing authority. Nothing angelic (Nonhuman) could govern the people. So naturally Humans are getting scolded in Psalm 82, not anything Nonhuman like watchers/angels/spirit beings of a divine council. The "divine council" are the Chosen people of God who given the Law of God. Also had the True Prophets of God. The proper way of interpreting the scripture of Deuteronomy 32:8 whether it should be sons of God or children of Israel? Well which came first the Patriarchs/sons of God, of Genesis 5 and 6 or 12 tribes of Israel, of course it would be the Patriarchs/sons of God which are listed in Genesis 5 with "Many Generations" the longivity of life spans that they would have seen "Many Generations" and did lived old ages. This is ALL in Context, Context Is King!! Have to remember when scripture was first written there were no chapter breaks or verse breaks, that was added later in English Translations of scipture. Small summary, Moses tells us who the sons of God are with Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations in verse 7 would be Applied to sons of God. Clearly this is NOT about a divine council of watchers/super angels. This Heiser guy did NOT understand verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) or Context applied with proper Hermeneutics. He WAS a Blind and False Teacher of scripture when it came to "Application", but he was correct in the "Translaton" of the words sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8.

My Spirit shall not abide in man forever," Notice the word "man", does not say watchers, angels or a spirit beings. Absolutely sons of God are Genesis 5. Heiser's false teaching like the rest who promote this nonsense redefine marriage, no different then what the LGBQT+ Community promotes. The whole point is deception and dellusion, because both redefine marriage between a man and a woman. God’s institutioin of marriage is NOT between the same genders, marriage is NOT between wathcer/angels and human woman. Same kind of LIE and concept, just packaged different. Also goes against the creative order, each kind produces after its own kind. Humans of the same gender CANNOT produce offsping, it is imposible. Wathcers/Angels (spiritul) and human woman (flesh) are a different kind, spirit and flesh CANNOT produce offspring. Again Same kind of LIE and concept, just packaged different. Woman was created from man so it is fitting the 2 marry, procreate and fill the earth. Even with Heiser's view and others that teach this false view is anti-patriarchal, because they replace the Genesis 5 sons of God who are fathers/patriarchs and replace them with watcher/angels/spirit beings. Seems like you might understand "Many Generations", but not really. Do Watcher/Angels Bleed? Men have the XY Chromosome and Women the XX Chromosome. What kind of Chromosomes do wathcers/angels have? Just some questions to think on. So Genesis 5 is "Ridiculous" to you, Really, the sons of God of Genesis 5 point and are associated with Jesus who is the Son of God. The genealogy list from Adam to Noah would be the sons of God. Also this line leads to Jesus who is the Son of God found in Luke 3 Luke 3 1) Adam (Luke 3: 38) 2) Seth (Luke 3: 38) 3) Enosh (Luke 3: 38) 4) Cainan (Luke 3: 37) 5) Mahalael (Luke 3: 37) 6) Jared (Luke 3: 37) 7) Enoch (Luke 3: 37) 8) Methuselah (Luke 3: 37) 9) Lamech (Luke 3: 36) 10) Noah (Luke 3: 36) 11) Shem (Luke 3: 36) 12) Arphaxad (Luke 3: 36) 13) Cainan (Luke 3: 36) 14) Shelah (Luke 3: 35) 15) Eber (Luke 3: 35) 16) Peleg (Luke 3: 35) 17) Reu (Luke 3: 35) 18) Serug (Luke 3: 35) 19) Nahor (Luke 3: 34) 20) Terah (Luke 3: 34) 21) Abraham (Luke 3: 34) 22) Isaac (Luke 3: 34) 23) Jacob (Luke 3: 34) 24) Judah (Luke 3: 33) 41) Judah (Luke 3: 30) 58) Judah (Luke 3: 26) 25) Perez (Luke 3: 33) 42) Simeon (Luke 3: 30) 59) Joseph (Luke 3: 26) 26) Hezron (Luke 3: 33 43) Simeon (Luke 3: 29) 60) Semei (Luke 3: 26) 27) Ram (Luke 3: 33) 44) Matthat (Luke 3: 29) 61) Mattathiah (Luke 3: 26) 28) Amminadab (Luke 3: 33) 45) Jorim (Luke 3: 29) 62) Maath (Luke 3: 26) 29) Nahshon (Luke 3: 32) 46) Eliezer (Luke 3: 29) 63) Naggai (Luke 3: 25) 30) Salmon (Luke 3: 32) 47) Jose (Luke 3: 29) 64) Esli (Luke 3: 25) 31) Boaz (Luke 3: 32) 48) Er (Luke 3: 28) 65) Nahum (Luke 3: 25) 32) Jesse (Luke 3: 32) 49) Elmodam (Luke 3: 28) 66) Amos (Luke 3: 25) 33) David (Luke 3: 31) 50) Cosam (Luke 3: 28) 67) Mattathiah (Luke 3: 25) 34) Nathan (Luke 3: 31) 51) Addi (Luke 3: 28) 68) Joseph (Luke 3: 24) 35) Mattathah (Luke 3: 31) 52) Melchi (Luke 3: 28) 69) Janna (Luke 3: 24) 36) Menan (Luke 3: 31) 53) Neri (Luke 3: 27) 70) Melchi (Luke 3: 24) 37) Melea (Luke 3: 31) 54 Shealtiel (Luke 3: 27) 71) Levi (Luke 3: 24) 38) Eliakim (Luke 3: 30) 55) Zerubbabel (Luke 3: 27) 72) Matthat (Luke 3: 24) 39) Jonan (Luke 3: 30) 56) Rhesa (Luke 3: 27) 73) Heli (Luke 3: 23) 40) Joseph (Luke 3: 30) 57) Joannas (Luke 3: 27) 74) Joseph as suppposed Mary’s husband (Luke 3: 23)>>>>>>Jesus the Son of God Let Scripture define Scripture.

Israel is the "gods" in Psalm 82 Israel was unique from the pagan nations that surrounded them, Israel had the law of God, 10 commandment, prophets and a Levitical priesthood. Since Israel had the law of God, it put Israel in the position of being "gods," becuase God chose them, Israel is God's chosen people. Psalm 82:6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; John 10: 34-35 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)," 1. >>>>"I said, “You are gods” >>>>>ONCE by the God (Father) in Psalm 82. Aspaph is the Author and Psalmist of Psalm 82. Prophets of the Old Testament like Asaph the "word of the Lord" would come to Prophets like Asaph. Prophets were the "Voice" of God. God (Father) would communicate His words through the prophets, God does that here in Psalm 82:6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;">>>>>>>>Israel, Psalm 82 uses the word "all". This clearly is not about a bunch of watchers/super angels of a divine council. The Psalms were written to and for Israel. 2. SECOND time Jesus in John 10: 34 Repeats >>>> ‘I said, “You are gods” <<<<< Jesus is addressing humans in this text, the humans are Israel, we know that, becasue the text in John 10:34-35 Jesus also tells us in scripture in John 10: 34-35 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)," The law Jesus is talking about is the "law" God gave Moses in verse 34 and in verse 35 "gods" (Israel) is to the word of God came, which would be prophets of the OT, like Moses, Asaph, and ect.. Okay lets look into this. People like Mike Heiser beleived that the audience and listeners (gods/elohim/sons) of Psalm 82 is about a bunch of watchers/super angels of a divne council being addressed and talked to in the heavens in the spiritual realm. So that would mean that Jesus would be in the heavens in the spiritual realm addressing His audience in John 10: 34, that makes ZERO sense and No logic!!! Very Clear that Jesus in John 10 and all of the NT Jesus is in the Physical realm addressing humans, so that would mean that Humans are being addressed in Psalm 82 in the physical realm, Heiser taught that Pslam 82 is in the spiritual realm about a bunch of non human spirit beings (watchers/super angels) totally false, that is why Jesus answers the question of the "gods" of Psalm 82 in John 10, Hesier blindly oppossed Jesus, which is anti-Christ. Israel as a son>>>>> Exodus 4:22 You are to say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Israel is my firstborn son." If you know your bible Jacob is Israel and there would be 12 sons borns to Jacob, which make up the 12 tribes of Israel. When a person reads Psalm 82:6 when it mentions "sons" it is referring to the 12 tribes of Israel in the physical world. In reality what a person can get from scripture is that Jesus tells us who the "gods/elohim" are in Psalm 82 when we read John 10 34-35. Jesus is the One who fulfills the words of the prophets from the OT in the NT, that is why Jesus REPEATED the exact words " I said, “You are gods, from Psalm 82 (God/Father) in John 10 (God/Son). The gods/elohim in Psalm 82 are not disembodied spirits/angels/watchers, they are Israel, all of Israel. To Point out, "To die like men" from Psalm 82, are referring to the "gods" would be Israel. Israel had the law, prophets, Levitical preisthood with animal sacrifices, a day of atonement, passover and ect... under the Old Covenant with the blood of an animal. Israel also had the Tabernacle and the Temple which is a shadow or a model of the Heavenly Tabernacle/Temple where God resides. Hebrews 8: 5-6 5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” 6 But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises. Israel was Unique among the pagan nations that surrounded them, they were the chosen people of God and God gave them His law, had the prophets, Tabernacle/Temple for sacrifices. They represented God so that makes them "gods/elohim" elevated to a higher status and rank among the other nations, but they will "die like men". Israel was to represent God but was not following through with Justice, because God is on the side of Justice. Since Israel (gods/elohim) did not represent God they die like men. This Psalm was actually sang by Israel, Asaph was the lead musician at the time as well as a prophet of God. Psalm 82: 2-5 This is all in Context 2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” 5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. What is going on in the passage is that the nation of Israel (Jews) would have foreigners (people from non Jewish nation) or to call them Gentiles coming into the nation of Israel. The Jewish people and even Jewish Elders were not living up to taking care of these foreigners. The foreigners probably were in poverty, were poor and needed to be delivered from pagan gods and Idolatry, the nation of Israel was NOT representing the True God. When a person reads Psalm 82: 2 - 5, that makes more sense that HUMANS (Jews) are being scolded rather than super angels/non human spirit beings. God is on the side of Justice in defending the weak and fatherless as well as rescueing the weak and needy. Israel failed at their delegated task of helping foreigner, which would be individuals from other nations, this just makes sense and logic. Also Israel at times would fall into Idolatry, because of the influence of these pagan nations that surrounded them. The word "gods" also can mean Idols from other nations> Baal or Asherah are examples of false gods.

The sons of God in Job 1: 4-6 Expalined!! A person has to use CONTEXT....Context is King. 4 His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate (SANCTIFY) them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually. 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. When Job presented the animal sacrifice/burnt offering (Job 1:5) this was in the days (Plural) of Feasting. There are Two "DAYS" mentioned in the days of feasting found in Job 1: 4 and Job 1: 13 and there are also Two "DAYS" when the sons of God presented themselves Job 1: 6 and Job 2: 1. Job 1:4 " And his sons would go and feast houses, each on his DAY, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them Job1: 6 "Now there was a DAY when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. Job 1: 13 " Now there was a DAY when his sons and daughters eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house;" >>>>>the sons and daughters are Jobs, his household. Job 2: 1 "Again there was a DAY when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. Job 1:5 So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and consecrate (SANCTIFY) them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly. The proper interpretation is pairing together Job 1: 4 with Job 1: 6 and pairing together Job 1: 13 with Job 2: 1, keeping Job 1: 5 in mind and applying that thought to with the verses that are paired together. Basically what happened is in Job 1 :4 and Job 1: 13 the feasting would be taking place, then the following day Job 1: 6 and Job 2: 1 early in the morning Job would present the animal sacrifice/burnt offering unto the Lord God. Job is being made Holy as well as his Household (wife, sons, daughters), because of the sacrifice (burnt offering), sanctification, atonement and shed blood of the sacrifice, this brings Job's Household into a position of "Adoption", hence forth sons of God are explained in Job 1:6 and Job 2: 1 which happened the following day. This all took place during the days of feasting. Job 1: 4 "and his sons would go and feast houses, each on his day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them." Verse tells us the days of Feasting each had there own day and there were probably 7 days of Feasting or could be 8 days of Feasting with Job because the Jews had 8 Feast days, 7 is more likely, because Job had 7 sons. Job was not a Jew, he was a Patriarch/head of the household and lived before the Jews and the Law was given. In the context given there are 4 separate DAYS mentioned in the text with in the 7 or 8 DAYS of Feasting. My view overall that Job's children were predestidated to Christ, since they were Concecrated/Sanctified (Made Holy), meaning the Soul. Have to apply the Context and which means applying the burnt offerings/animal sacrifice. The sons of God are clearly Job and his household.....This is all a fore shadowing of the Complete Sacrifice and Promise of Jesus on the Cross. Also to note like it says in Romans the wages of sin is death, Jesus made the final payment for sin with his death, but before the death of Jesus and before the Law and Israel, people like Job a Patriarch would offer death unto the Lord God for sins. Like it says fpr Job's children. The conversation between God and Satan is in the spiritual realm while Job and his household are in the material/earthly realm, while a burnt offerig is being offered to the Lord God. Has to do with Sanctification, Justification and Glorification. Of course the Glorification is future since the soul is atoned for a future Glorified body. These souls of the OT, like Job and his household. Job had to continually offer sacrifices unto the Lord God, just like all of the OT sacrifices even the nation of Israel with the Levitcal priesthood offered sacrifices with shed blood, this was the old covenant with the blood of animals. These sacrifices were only good until the next sacrifice was offered. Looking at Job since he was a father/patirarch he is serving as a priest and offerings burnt offerings/animal sacrifices unto the Lord God for the sins of his household, which is a shadow and fore shadowing Jesus who is the true High Priest in Heaven and the heavenly places. All these animal sacrifices are with the shed blood of animals under the Old Covenant ot the animal sacrifices. This is all in association, relationship and identity with Jesus the High Priest is the Son of God, so natually the patriarchs/fathers like Job (household) are given the status to be called sons of God. Angels or any kind of spiritual beings of a so called divine council of super angels NEVER were given priestly duties and offered burnt offerings/animal sacrifices unto the Lord God. The same is true with the nation of Israel, Israel had a Levitical preisthood with animal sacrifices, a day of atonement, passover and ect... under the Old Covenant with the blood of an animal like a lamb, bull or goat, which point to Jesus as High Priest and the New Covenant in His Blood which He shed on the Cross and making the final payment for sin. Israel had a tabernacle and later a temple which is mentioned in Hebrews 8: 5-6. The patriarchs like Job never had a tabernacle or a temple, but they did offer animal sacrifices like the Levitical preisthood. See how many Generations came from Isreal (Jacob) All the animal sacrifices is a offered by earthly priests (mediators) like Job, Noah, Abraham, patriarchs and Israels Levitical priesthood is just a model and a foreshadowing of Jesus and His role of High Priest, which is a better sacrifice and His shed blood as the True Mediator between God and man. Jesus on the Cross made the FINAL PAYMENT for sin and the FINAL SACRIFICE. This is why it mentions sons of God in Job, this is all tied into the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, who is the Son of God. There would be NO sons of God mentioned in both OT and NT without a Sacrifice and Shed blood offered unto the Lord God for the payment of sin and atonement for the soul. To call sons of God angels, watchers, fallen angels or a so called members of a divine council made up of a bunch of non human spirit beings/superangels in the OT is actually blasphemous against Jesus (High Priest) and the Cross, as well as how God dealt with sin of the Individual in the Bible.

Deuteronomy 32 and Genesis 6 sons of God explained!!>>>>>he leaves out "Many Generations" The text is correct as sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8. The Hebrew would be >>>>(בני האלהים‎, bənê hāʼĕlōhîm<<<< "Translation" is Correct, But "Application" of the NLT of angleic beings is Incorrect, because if angelic the text is would not agree with Moses and the thought of Moses. The Greek Septuagint is in ERROR. Deut. 32: 7-8 A person Cannont just look at verse 8. Look at Luke 3 this same genealogy line is listed that leads to Christ, Super Angels DO NOThave a geneology line that leads to Christ. Angels can not procreate, marry women, and have offspring/genealogy line. This also goes against the creative order that each kind produces after it's own kind. It is no different than what the LGBQT plus community promotes when they redefine marriage. Marriage is between a man and a woman, Not an angelic/nonhuman/spirit being and a woman. Another Point with verse 7 of Dueteronomy 32 is >>>>"Remember the days of old". Getting to the thought of the author Moses, Since Moses wrote Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, which are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The argument is, is that there No Abrahamic covenant yet, that is 100% true when a person applies verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) it is more clear and plain to see who the "sons of God" are in both Deuteronomy 32:8 and Genesis 6. Nations are named after a father in scripture. Since Israel was the "firstborn son" to the Lord God, which would means Israel/Jacobs offspring would be "sons of God" or also to say "children of Israel". The twelve tribes are as follows: Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Ephraim and Manasseh. Some promote is a this divine council of angels, like the Greek Septuagint says, but "angelic beings" does not fit the Context or the thought of Moses in Deuteronomy 32. The conclusive evidence is that angelic beings Can Not or Do Not have "Many Generations" like it saysin the text of verse 7, this is just common sense and logic. Angelic beings cannot marry, procreate, and start families it goes against the struture of the family and institution of marriage, because God created marriage between a man and a woman. Also it would go against the creative order, each kind produces after its own kind. Even looking at Psalm 82:6 "I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;" The word "sons" is used in the Plurality, which would be referencing that the "sons" are human pretaining to the 12 tribes of Israel (Jacob's sons). The word "gods" Jesus answers that in John 10 also human. Michael Heiser a well know teacher of scripture taught gods/elohim and sons are non human, Psalm 82 is his foundation for his false divine council of super angels. He was totally false. The proper way of interpreting the scripture of Deuteronomy 32:8 whether it should be sons of God or children of Israel? Think chronological order, Well which came first the Patriarchs/sons of God, of Genesis 5 and 6 or 12 tribes of Israel, of course it would be the Patriarchs/sons of God which are listed in Genesis 5 with "Many Generations" the longivity of life spans that they would have seen "Many Generations" and did live old ages. Clearly this is NOT about anything angelic/watcher. The The Greek Septuagint is in ERROR and is misleading just look at verse 7 "Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;" or Context applied with proper Hermeneutics, and what the author Moses was telling the reader.

Sorry Mr. Heiser is WRONG Both " sons of God" and "sons of Israel" Can be applied to Deuteronomy 32:8 BECAUSE of Deuteronomy 32:7>>>>"Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you."<<<< KEY words are "MANY GENERATIONS" in verse 7 this is all in CONTEXT. One Translation may use sons of God may use children of Israel. The sons of God are found in Genesis 5 Many Generations. Many people do not NOT recognize "MANY GENERATIONS" in verse 7. Point made of why it is sons of God is becasue of "MANY GENERATIONS" Where you find "MANY GENERATIONS" is in Genesis 5. The Patriarchs of Genesis 5 are the sons of God. Here they are for you, look at the longivity of Life they had and would have saw many generations, this just makes sense. 22) Jacob (Israel) (Genesis 47: 28) Lived 147 Years sons of Isreal (Jacob) had 12 sons which would be 12 tirbes with Many Generations The twelve tribes are as follows: Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Ephraim and Manasseh. "The Lord's portion is his people" Israel was the Lord's Chosen people 12 tribes were the ones wondering in the dessert, because found him (Israel 12 tribes/sons) in a dessert land. That is WHY there is such a debate in the text. The proper way of interpreting the scripture is which came first the Patriarchs or 12 tribes of Israel, of course it would be the Patriarchs which are listed in Genesis 5 with "Many Generations" the longivity of life spans that they would have seen "Many Generations" This is ALL in Context, Context Is King!! Have to remember when scripture was first written there were no chapter breaks or verse breaks. The "sons of God" is Correct for verse 8, But is referring to Genesis 5 which is listed from Adam to Jacob. Clearly this is NOT about a divine council of super angels. This Heiser guy does NOT understand ""MANY GENERATIONS" or CONTEXT applied with proper Hermeneutics. He WAS a Blind and False Teacher of scripture.

Psalm 82 He NEVER explains the "Job Description" of prophets in the Old Testament. Most people are even unaware of who wrote Psalm 82. Asaph the prophet wrote Psam 82 as well as other Psalms 50, 73-81 and 83. Asaph the Prophet writes ESV Psalm 82: 1 "God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.” Hebrew word for God is Elohim, when a person read it in the original Hebrew, and you will see the difference between Yahweh as God/Elohim above all Elohim and the council itself as a lower classification of gods/elohim. Jesus answers the lower classification of elohim (gods) in John 10: 34 35. Jesus is the "word" that became Flesh John 1:1, In the Old the Testament the "word" of God was given to prophets, like Asaph who wrote Psalm 82. The "word" was Incarnate in Jesus in the New Testament. John the Disciple/Apsotle writes, "Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), The lower class of elohim (gods) in Psalm 82 are human NOT non human/angels like Heiser promotes. WHY because the word of the Lord came to Prophets, God Spoke thru Prophets to the nation of Israel/Jews (Human). The Jews were also given the Law and had the Prophets. The Jews are Gods's CHOSEN people so the Messiah can come into the world thru them. NO nonhuman/angel is ever referred to as a Prophet in scripture or were given the Law, Of course angels are messengers in scripture, but that is it. The Law and Holy Scriptures were given to the nation of Israel/Jews NOT to non humans/angels. How God takes His place in the divine council in Psalm 82 is by the Prophet Asaph who was given the "word of the Lord" also who wrote Psalm 82 and by the Law which was given to the Nation of Israel. What is KEY is that a Prophet of God like Asaph carried and handled the words of the Lord God, this is the "Job Description" of a prophet in the Old Testament. Prophets were the VOICE of God that is why it is IMPORTANT that Jesus Repeats, Quoates and Fulfills these words...... Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.” ........John 10: 34-35 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)," Notice there is a lot happening with the words Jesus uses John 10 1. Verse 34, Jesus says....... "Is it not written in your law">>>>>This tells us that Jesus is addressing Humans (Pharisees/Rulers/Jews) in John 10. The Jews/nation of Israel was given the Law, which would be the Law of Moses found in the Old Testament. 2. Verse 34, Jesus says...... "I said" "You are gods". What the "I said" is, is a declaration of Jesus as God. The "I said" is not different than an "I am" declaration", Jesus is God and is the Son of God. Another point with the "I said" of Jesus is that He is REPEATING this from the Old Testament which is found in Psalm 82, this is not just a mere qoute of Jesus, but an REPEAT of what God spoke thru the prophet Asaph........... Psalm 82: 1 "God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.” Since Jesus is God and is addressing HUMANS in John 10 and is REPEATING what God said when He spoke thru the prophet Asaph in Psalm 82, that means the "gods/elohim" in Psalm 82 are also HUMAN (Judges.Rulers.Jews), Jesus Literally answers the question of the "gods/elohim" in Psalm 82. NOTE: ESV uses "divine council" other translations use "congregation of the mighty" or "great assembly", this is HUMAN. 3. Verse 35. "If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),"....Here again "gods" is used which refer to Humans (Judges/Pharisees/Rulers/Jews). Notice the text also says..."to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), This again goes back to the Old Testament, because God would speak thru prophets in the Old Testament, like Asaph who wrote Psalm 82. Asaph was the "Voice" of God to the Jews, like all prophets in the Old Testament are the "Voice" of God. 4. So when a person puts the "gods/elohim" in Psalm 82 and who God is adresseing thru the prophet Asaph>>>>>>>Psalm 82: 1 "God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.” Now you apply Jesus and the "gods" He is adressing in John 10>>>>>>>John 10: 34-35 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),"...........A person can CLEARLY see that the "gods/elohim" are HUMAN in both Psalm 82 and John 10. God Inspires and Lifts up Prophets in the Old Testament so Jesus can FULFILL what is written and spoken in the Old Testament Fulfilled by Jesus in the New Testament. Jesus holds the answer of the "gods" (lower class elohim/gods), they are human in both Psalm 82 and John 10. To address to "die like men" In Psalm 82: 7 is Referring to those bad elders, rulers, leaders or judges within the nation of Israel that have High Authority, they favor the wicked and judge unjustly, they do not follow through with their responsibilities, duties, and do not represent God or the law, these High Officials are just men, they have High Rank so they will die like men. They are human not divine beings. In Numbers 11: 16 “So the LORD said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you.” Psalm 82: 2-5 2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? When a person reads Psalm 82: 2 - 5, that makes more sense that HUMANS (Jews) are being scolded rather than angels/non human beings. God is on the side of Justice in defending the weak and fatherless as well as rescueing the weak and needy. God has ALWAYS set up Governements in the world not just with in the Nation of Israel, Romans 13: 1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." Heiser also likes to use Psalm 89, Deut. 32 or other passages where it mentions sons of God, these verses in scripture really have Nothing to do with Psalm 82.

Job Part 2 When Job presented the animal sacrifice/burnt offering (Job 1:5) this was in the days (Plural) of Feasting. Job 1:5 So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings the number of them all.

Here is Job for you. Blameless and Upright are mentioned 3 times in the book of Job. Job 1: 1, 1: 8 and 2: 3. Blameless and Upright are words used to describe Job. KJV uses "Perfect" instead of Blameless. The word "Upright" means "Righteousness" or "Righteous". Job 1: 1 "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was BLAMELESS and UPRIGHT, and one who feared God and shunned evil. Job 1: 8 "Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a BLAMELESS and UPRIGHT man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” Job 2: 3 " Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a BLAMELESS and UPRIGHT man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.” The word BLAMELESS connects to what Paul writes in Ephesians. Ephesians 1: 4-5 4 "just as He chose us in Him BEFORE the FOUNDATION of the WORLD, that we should be HOLY and without BLAME before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to ADOPTION as SONS by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will," Ephesians 1: 4-5 is a perfect fit with Job 1: 5-6. Paul in these verses is explaining qualifications of being HOLY (SANCTIFY) and without BLAME as well as ADOPTION of SONSHIP>>>>>sons of God. The "us" Paul is referring to are the ones of SONSHIP. This can also refer to the Children of God. Also since God choose "us" BEFORE the foundation of the World to be in Christ to be HOLY and BLAMELESS this should take a person to Genesis 1:1. Job presented animal sacrifices and burnt offerings unto the Lord God. Job 1: 5 "Job 1: 5 So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and SANCTIFY them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly. Job was RESPONSIBLE for his household and their sins, Even Adam was RESPONSIBLE for Eve in the Garden when SIN entered the World. Job being the head of the household/Patriarch it was his duty to offer and present the sacrifices to the Lord God. The animal sacrifices and burnt offering atoned for sin and sanctified Job's household. Sanctify means to make "Holy", just like what Paul describes in Ephesians 1: 4 "that we should be HOLY and without BLAME before Him in love." This also says this "He (God/Father) chose us in Him (Jesus/Son) BEFORE the FOUNDATION of the WORLD," what this means is BEFORE the creation of the World. Verse 5 of Ephesians 1 says that God "ADOPTION as SONS by Jesus Christ." What God had in mind is an "Adoption Plan" to Holy and Blameless BEFORE the earth was even created. This "Adoption Plan" points (Predestinates) to Jesus, so do the animal sacrifices and burnt offerings points (Predestinates) to Jesus. The animal sacrifices and burnt offerings foreshadow the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. There is a blood covenant with shed blood between sinful man and Holy God. Today the Blood covenant that matters is with the Sacrifice of Jesus and the Blood He shed on the Cross. In the OT the Faithful were looking Forward to the Cross. Today the Faithful look back to the Cross. Job offered and presented these sacrifices "Regularly Job 1: 5">>>>>"For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly." Regularly means constant, definite pattern, accordingly, routinely or repeatedly. Since Job offered and presented these animal sacrifices and burnt offerings unto the Lord God, this leads into the next verse. Job 1: 6 "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them." What is happening in Job 1: 6 is that Job is presenting a animal sacrifice and burnt offering unto the Lord God, The sons of God (Job and his household) are in the "Adopted Status" when they are "Presenting" themselves. The scene is on the earth and the realm of the earth. Some think this scene is in the 3rd heaven, that is not correct. Paul helps us on this as well. 2 Corinthians 12: 2-4 "I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows such a one was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know such a man whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows 4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter." The word heavens can be used to refer to different realms. Heaven can refer to the sky and the earth’s atmosphere, making it the "first heaven" (Deut. 11: 11, Psalm 104: 12, Isaiah 55: 10). Heaven can also refer to outer space, where the stars and planets are the "second heaven" (Psalm 8: 3, Isaiah 13: 10). Heaven can refer to God’s dwelling place, which is beyond the other 2 "heavens," a place known as the "third heaven" (Psalm 33: 13-14, Isaiah 66: 1, Matthew 6: 9, Hebrews 7: 26, Revelation 11: 19). With the conversation with Satan and God, the conversation was the "first heaven", while the sons of God (Job and his household) are in "Adopted Status" presenting themselves with animal sacrifices and burnt offerings. Even when Satan tempted Jesus it was in the realm of the earth found in Matthew 4: 1-11. What is really interesting with the book of Job is that Blameless and Upright are mentioned 3 times in the book of Job. Job 1: 1, 1: 8 and 2: 3.......so are "sons of God" mentioned 3 times in book of Job....Job 1: 6, Job 2: 1 and Job 38: 7. Something else to point out is that God is 3 persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So what it comes down with the Help of Paul in Ephesians 1: 4-5 is that the sons of God in the book of Job are in "Adopted Status", not an angelic status like so many are lead to believe. In Hebrew language the sons of God is "bene elohim" referring to the Adopted. This is also true for Genesis 6, because Genesis 5 list the head of households/Patriarchs from Adam to Noah and Noah's sons. The animal sacrifices and burnt offerings also displayed "Faith", "Obedience" and "Belief" towards the Lord God. These sons are credited "Righteousness" by their "Faith", "Obedience" and "Belief" towards the Lord God. A person can see "Sanctification" and "Justification" (Justification by Faith) with sons of God in "Adopted Status" in the OT and NT. "Glorification" is yet to happen for the "Adopted" sons of God, that happens when the sons receive a "Glorified" body, which is part of the inheritance. Sanctification, Justification and Glorification are Supernatural Realities of the Lord God.

Heiser is an Apostate on Deut. 32, He leaves out verse 7 (many generations), Here is the proper explanation...... Deuteronomy 32 7-10 ESV 7 Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you. 8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind,>>>>>>>>some translations say "sons of Adam" he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. >>>>>other translations use "children of Israel" 9 But the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. 10 “He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. Now lets dig into this. What is left out is verse 7, this is all in Context. The debate is in verse 8, should it be sons of God or children of Israel??? Actually both can fit. Reason why Verse 7 HAS to be applied becasue it reads "years of many generations" that would refer to Genesis 5 the Patriarchs which would be the sons of God. 22) Jacob (Israel) (Genesis 47: 28) Lived 147 Years As a person sees this it is clear the Patrairchs lived and saw many generations and lived many 'years", this genealogy list from Adam to Shem is also the "sons of God", which is fitting this is listed before sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6, the sons of God are Adam to Shem. VERSE 8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, (OR "sons of Adam") he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. How God divided mankind is with animal sacrifices/burnt offerings, this started with Cain and Abel the "sons of Adam" or to say "sons of mankind." When God separates the "sons of Adam" or "divided mankind", this is referring to Cain and Abel, found in Genesis 4. All of mankind comes from the FIRST man "Adam" Gen. 4 2-5 "And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground. 3 In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground, 4 and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, 5 but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell." Cain’s offering (Ground offering) to God was displeasing so God reject that offering, while God accepted Abel’s offering, because the offering was the first born of his flock (Sheep or young Lamb). Note Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, even Abel's sacrifice is foreshadowing Jesus and His sacrifice. Cain then dwelt in the land of Nod>>>>Genesis 4: 16 "Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden". Nod in Hebrew means wandering. Abel was of True Faith, while Cain was NOT. Abel presented his offering by Faith......... Hebrews 11:4 " By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks." 1 John 3:12 "not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous." Simply putting it, the Lord God separated the boundaries with the "Righteous and Unrighteous" Abel was Righteous/Cain Unrighteous. The Lord God has Always used a Sacrifice by Faith to separate the peoples, starts back in Genesis. Notice that Cain was of the "wicked one (1 John 3 12)" and Abel was the righteous one (Hebrews 11:4). The separation of the Wicked and Unrighteous like Cain and the Faithful/Righteous like Abel. This is how the nations are separated and how God set the boundaries of the people. Today God separates the people with the Gospel and the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, those with Faith and without Faith. VERSE 8 (cont.) Speaking on the boundries of the people we see that Cain went and dwelt in the land of Nod, Since Abel was murdured, Seth was NEXT in line. Reason why Seth is Next is because he called on the name of the Lord. Genesis 4 25-26 "And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and called his name Seth, for she said, “God has appointed for me another offspring instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.” 26 To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord. How we know this is with Abram/Abraham When Abram entered Canaan, he camped between Ai and Bethel. There, “he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord” (Genesis 12:8). In other words, Abram publicly thanked God, praised His name, and sought His protection and guidance. Genesis 22 3-6 "So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him."4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar. 5 Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy[a] will go over there and worship and come again to you.” 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together." Years later, Abraham’s son Isaac built an altar to the Lord in Beersheba and also “called on the name of the Lord” (Genesis 26:25). So we can tell calling on the name of the Lord as to do with an altar, animal sacrifice/burnt offering......This is part of worship and prayer with the Pariarchs or to say the sons of God, because these animal sacrifices established covenants between God and man as well as pointing to the sacrifice of the Son of God on the Cross who is Jesus. God establishes covenants with an innocent life given with shed blood, that is why the Patriarchs are the sons of God in an Adopted sense. VERSE 8 ESV "When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders[a] of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God" When a person looks at VERSE 8 when translated to the NKJV "When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples, According to the number of the children of Israel." The NKJV says "children of Israel" Not "sons of God", Okay why children of Israel, have to understand Israel is the "chosen" people they have the Law and the prophets as well as a sacrificial system. God had established an animal sacrificial system for them. Both the "children of Israel" and "sons of God" would have the bloodline that leads to Jesus who is the Son of God. The complete Bloodline and Genealogy of Jesus is in Luke chapter 3, that is why "many generations" mentioned in verse 7 is so important. The nation of Israel/Jews also had a day of Atonement and a Levitical priesthood for animal sacrifices/burnt offerings. The Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:27-28), also known as Yom Kippur, Every one of the Old Testament sacrifices typified Christ. The Passover, or paschal, sacrifice was a type of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God. The Passover lamb reminded the nation of Israel of their captivity in Egypt. VERSES 9 & 10 of Deut. 32 9 "But the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. 10 “He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye." The nation of Israel is also a "son" of God in an Adopted sense.

@@campcollins2 Do angels have "Many Generations"? Y or N Is there a Genealogy line of angels that lead to Christ? Y or N Are Angels flesh and Blood? Y and N Yes Heiser was an apostate and full of error, he mislead many on his view of this unseen realm. I am glad he was full of error, because his interpretation made me study the scriptures for my self. Credtionals really do not have anything to do with this, People say that a lot, just because someone has degrees does not make them correct, that makes no sense. As Students of scripture we are to study for ourselves and test whether it is true or false of what is being taught. I found a lot of Heiser's so call divine council, super natural, unseen realm, and etc... as False. In my life I have had Bible teachers with no "credentials" like degrees, phd's and seminary far better teachers of scripture than Heiser.

Go read what the Catholic Visionary Anne Catherine Emmerich said she saw about Melchizedek in her complete works - it is truly fascinating and insightful on this topic - she sees how he is a being of a higher sphere, like man, but not really of the race of Adam - she also sees another figure of this same Order of M.. in another being who assisted Jeremiah

The Bible is interesting, especially the Tanakh (Old Testament). However, it's just mythology; you shouldn't take it seriously.

Who in the Bible were very studious full of learning with names and titles? Jesus & His disciples were rejected as being unlearned Look at how Matthew uses the prophets in The New Covenant! A totally new interpretation. It’s imperative that we have The Holy Spirit The Life Giving Force The Pharisees had & knew the scriptures by memory! 1 human is The Resurrection Jesus Christ The Messiah Entry into His Kingdom is by The Holy Spirit! In Him we live & have our Being

The only problem with what you said is that the Most High gave an inheritance to the LORD. You dont give yourself an inheritance. Deuteronomy 32:8-12

The Dead Sea Scrolls, the Samaritan Pentateuch, Aramaic Targums, etc, agree with the Septuagint against the MT (and KJV/NASB/NIV) for Deut. 32:8-9 in using sons/angels of God and not sons of Israel.
