Pac RP5-GM31 installation and operation.
Переглядів 213 тис.8 років тому
Installing a Pac RP5-GM31 on a 2011 Chevy Silverado Z71 with factory Bluetooth and backup camera. After the video, I realized that the factory mic for Bluetooth was not going to work. The aftermarket mic that is supplied with your stereo will need to be installed. You may also need to reprogram your stereo wheel controls in order to utilize all functions. Pac RP5-GM31 Interface w/o Backup Camer...
YOU'RE THE MAN !!!! Excellent video and THANKS for the Amazon link.... 1A-Auto wanted $45 for the exact same switch !!
Glad I was able to help you out bro.
This work work a tahoe 2014 ltz with navigation?
@@oscarvicpe7650 if the aftermarket stereo is setup for navigation it should work. There's also a version of this harness that comes with a connector for the backup camera if it's originally displayed from the dash and not the rear view mirror.
Thank you! When you have no one to help fix things like this, your video is greatly appreciated!!!
Man thank you lol. Mine went bad too, everything worked except going forward.. figured start with the switch and that did it.
Very Helpful Video !!!!
Can i tap to the amp remote wire for my external amplifier, even though it’s connected to the PAC
You should be able to tap directly into the remote wire of the stereo harness without going through the pac if need be.
@@ramzsgarage316 thanks for the reply. I did but the PAC is also connected to the stereo remote wire. Its working fine so far.
what tool did you use to remove the first clip?
For the clip on the reclining lever, I used a pick tool. I have a link in the description for a set you can pick up at Amazon. Or, if there's a Harbor Freight in your area, you can pick up a set there as well.
Don't loose the screw!!
Dude your awesome!! Fixed!
You're welcome. I'm glad that helped.
I’m getting a t-shirt made that says “Don’t loose the Screw!” So funny
Thank you did this in about 15 minutes. Very helpful
Very helpful video. Thank you.
A little later but uhhh do I have to install this chime box, it’s very digital sounding. (Mine idk about yours) sounds like shit. I prefer the stock sounding chime. No dropping or anything. It was installed and I noticed the different sound right as I turned out of the installers place.
Of all the videos out there, that I have seen. You are the ONLY person to go into detail, on how to remove the lever for the reclining seats. awesome work thank you.
You're welcome. Glad it helped you out.
Dude I have so much problems trying to program it with my original steering wheel controls
Are you pushing the controls in order that the instructions show?
@@ramzsgarage316 yes I’m having so many problems with it since I can’t program it
Best video I have seen by far.
Thank you
kenwood dmx4707s I installed it and plays music from idk where, you know what’s the issue? I connect phone snd shows apple play but no sound from it also no sound from fm or am radio
I uploaded this so long ago, I don't remember a lot of details. But that sounds like a mess.
How did you get mute/play button to work.
If you're referring to the one on the steering wheel, they have to be programmed.
Is regular rca or is a amplifier RCA?
Standard rcs cables will work as long as the stereo has the connections on the back.
I had the same issue with my radio shutting off when receiving a call. It was also super loud when it was ringing. Disconnecting the Bluetooth on my phone fixed the issue.
Went to replace my radio and the guy before me repinned the entire harness from the truck. So far it's been a nightmare but I've got my basic wire. My issue now has been what does the signal wire from the truck go to, or if anyone can find the pin diagram for a 2012 GMC Sierra SLE with Bose and OnStar. I removed onstars chip due to OnStar being dropped this year back in June. Will be posting a video soon of the aftermath lol
Yikes! That does sound like a nightmare.
I installed the same cmx chime module on a sony stereo for my silverado 2013. I noticed that the sound of the chime is high pitch in all of its functions turn signal, back up sensor, door oper etc etc, it sounds nothing like the original, my question is: is that completely normal, or there is probably something wrong with my chime. I dropped the chime twice before installation, so im not sure if may be i damaged or if thats how its supposed to sound.
I noticed the chime sound from mine was not that much different from the factory chime. Your chime box may be faulty.
Video was very helpful. An yes got mine on Amazon an it did come with the antenna adapter.
showing no amp. saved me. if your speakes dont work. switch the plug to no amp. works perfect. thank you
Glad you got it figured out
What do you mean switch the plug my audio doesn't work any help please
very helpful thanks. my 2010 i have to crank it to hear the speakers. about to take it out for the third time.
I just installed this over the weekend (2007 Yukon) and all of a sudden my battery died and electronics seemed to go haywire i.e. door looks clicking, power windows would stutter when I pushed the button. Needed to jump it. Now it says traction control needs servicing. Did I screw up the communications in the car or was this just a coincidence that the battery died. I don’t know the battery condition as I just bought it used. When installing I didn’t disconnect the battery. Any help is appreciated!
So you didn't have navigation? You didn't demonstrate onstar controls
So this interface picks up on and uses the factory onstar mic?
After testing, I found out it did not. And haven't been able to get the call button on the steering to sync.
Thanks for the video. Amazing work. Question, did you plug the reverse input signal wire to the harness as well? Purple/white? Thank you.
I don't believe I did
My inter face on one of the spots to plug in has a sticker over it that says set radio select switch before connecting vehicle harness what dose that mean
Most likely it's stating that you need to select which brand of radio you are connecting to the interface.
Fuckin bad ass man!!!! Worked for my duramax too cheers
Just got my from Amazon and it does come with the antenna adapter.
bought my 2010 silverado 4 years ago with the same setup and all has been well until 2 days ago..the steering wheel volume control stopped working, but the rest of the steering wheel controls still work. this is also a pioneer..any idea what would make the volume parts stop working? The only thing i did different around that time was pair my new phone with the pioneer bluetooth but i doubt thats got anything to do with it being it didnt bother it when i paired my old phone with it..
You try accessing the device behind the stereo and resetting the link for the steering wheel controls.
Thank you!
Does come with Antenna adapter on Amazon
Thank you! This is super helpful! You answered all my questions that Google couldn't.
i installed the same rp5 gm 31 kit with jcv double din everything works fine but the left side front and rear speakers has no sound the right side works fine. i double checked the speaker wiring for the left side and they are weird correctly. anyone knows what can cause this issue?
Water getting into the doors
Why does my radio turn off when I use my phone hooked up to the factory Bluetooth?
What about hooking the wire up for rear tv??.
This particular deck is not setup for that type of connection
I have this same RP5-GM31 with antenna adapter. The sound is really low, do you know why that would be?
Multiple reasons. A loose speaker wire, speakers could be blown, or something in the settings.
I installed the same radio and connected it as you did but my factory microphone does not work when I make a call I only hear but I cannot speak they do not hear me
Try plugging it into the other input. Let me know if that works
Thanks man, helped out alot!
Good video. I might get one of these to use for my Saab. It'll be a process but hopefully it will turn out well.
awesome video I did mine today in my tahoe with swc an I plugged it into the aux like it says but I couldn't get it to work.so tom.I will put it in the w/r .do u thing that is the problem?
More than likely, that's what I plug mine into
Who makes the best interface ?
If there's a better one or three than this one, I haven't heard of it.
Thanks for the video. I can’t get my steering wheel controls to work! I put in a boss audio system. Let me know if you have any tips
Same here man. Boss audio in my 2011 Sierra everything works but the factory controls
Did you program the # selector for it before you plugged in to it if you didn’t it would cause that to happen…
Wow!! Great job 👏 Wanted to hear the door chime but it’s ok. It definitely looks scary to do myself but I’m gonna try this weekend. Thank you!!
How long does the rca cable have to be?
How did find that plug for the factory camera to tap into I have a 2013 avalanche and want to do the same
How much could be the labor to install this ? I have a 2005 corvette and an aftermarket double din radio which I want to install I have the same device to restring the factory amp
Labor costs vary from installer to another. You would have visit a local shop of your choice and ask for the price of installation.
