    When applying linseed oil as a maintenance to resaturate the colors and protect, how long does that new application last? My experience is linseed oil on raw wood doesn't last long outside. Since just adding plain linseed oil like in this video does it go away fast, or does it last as long as the original application lasted?

      @@jupitercyclops6521 hope what answered it? Their original video didn't answer the question....basically wondering if this maintenance coat of oil will last as long as the original or if it has to be done every year or two to keep from getting chalky.

      I can't see boiled linseed oil lasting more than a year when it comes to maintenance better off spending the 50 quid more and just give a fresh coat

    You should really etch zinc before painting. It is very non stick when oxidized

    Am I correct in thinking painting this way will take approximately 1-2 weeks for one item ? Probably not ideal for a one off project then ?

    • @darrens3
      @darrens3 3 роки тому

      The red paint is red oxide primer and contains raw iron oxide which prevents rust by giving the metal a thin pre-rusted layer essentially.
