Henry VII Meets With The Spanish Ambassador Rodrigo de Puebla (The Six Wives of Henry VIII, 1970)
Very impressive lady.
The extra nail thing is so stupid
She almost out maneuvered Henry so she kept her head in more ways than one!
I think the new he ry makes it seem like he was a total Monster. He was led by his circumstance.
The cult of courtly love. Anne was an aficionado. And it cost her her head.
He should have changed the religion back
The king was a monster
Henry Vlll was desperate to have a male heir or heirs
It’s taking me several years to consider that she might have indeed been unattractive, sent intentionally to displease Henry for the purpose of saving the German princess‘s life. No father, not even foreign royalty, would want to send his daughter to Henry at the risk of being executed or dying from childbirth. Anne must’ve known the strategy, and perhaps the best they could’ve hoped for was Henry putting her away and taking care of her as he did.
Women!!!
Oliver Cromwell and Thomas Cromwell were related although many years apart.
Keith Michell was extraordinary in this part.
She was executed by the swordsman of Saint-Omer, Jean Rombaud. He was the most fashionable carnifex in Europe at that time. He was paid £23 6s 8d, which Henry VIII thought was rather expensive.
If only the King had an aspirin or two…maybe a better mood and outcome…
Cranmer was such a tool.
Charlie Rampling was a cutie Did Anne really have small deformities?
I like these "small moments"
Thanks for all these uploads, never seen this series or film
Loved this series . The Tudor family for better and for worse maybe changed the world when they seized power from Richard III . It was fate . Well it was in this universe but fate wasn’t going to allow them to hold on to the thrown and that might be why no biological Royal line of succession male heirs could be produced . Disclaimer. I am open to all manner of thoughts from parallel universes , fatalism , and even reincarnation but I am not going to join your tribe and send you money because nobody can prove anything and that goes for interpretations of Daniel and Revelation .
Henry sent for the French swordsman before Anne was even arrested so poor lady had no chance.
The son Jane Seymour gave him only reigned for 6 years. All that strife seemingly for nothing. And so much for the person who thinks or seems to think I have a subnormal I.Q.
Keith Michell IS Henry VIII.
Not quite historically accurate but this series was far more accurate than most all of the others
The English Caligula finally gets his.
Catherine should have removed Henry and made princess Mary the queen. Catherine loved him, God knows why.
The one he should have kept was the one that got away!
A GOAT Queen with the rutless mind of a male politician and a knack for self-preservation.
Catherine of Aragon is it played by the same actress (Annette Crosbie) who played Victor Meldrew's wife in the TV series ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE. A famous catchphrase from the show was, "I don't believe it."
henry VII was related to princess , queen catherine of aragon, they were distant cousins, as both were related to PRINCE JOHN OF GHENT.. the disputed king of castille... & duke of lancaster. son of EDWARD III plantagent, also countess magaret beaufourt of richmond, mater rex* the mother of the king and cousin to portugal, burgundy, spanish via beaufourt ancestry,,,, book by nathen amin... and also to a earlier ancestress,,, queen & duchess of ELEANOR OF AQUITANE,,,of france & england,,,wife to HENRY II of england, wales & ireland..france.. whos daughter was queen elanor plantagenet of castille....
queen ann of cleeves, ann of claavs & julich was a distant cousin to Henry, Harri VIII tudor... died in 1557, but did not have a consideration as a dowager queen consort, or even a princess of wales..,after the annulment of the marriage ... a important royal funeral for the *kings beloved sister*... mary I did however provide a funeral fit for a former queen consort and a burial in westminster abbey , with a plaque .. queen ann of cleeves, queen of england, died 1557... also ann of cleeves was a reformed catholic, she may have sympathised with the protestant reformation but was not protestant... her sister in law.. queen jean III of navarre, Jeanne d'Albret was a protestant, her new sister in law .. her brothers new wife after annulment of queen jean III marriage.. was Archduchess Maria habsburg of Austria * def a roman catholic...
You Bastard....
His shoulder pads? Are off Dallas and Dynasty 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Annette Crosbie was such a delight to watch, she made a wonderful Fairy Godmother in one of the Cinderella films a few years back
very intelligent individual, realised her neck was on the line, gave him a quick way out
I love this film so much. Thanks for al the clips. I'm going to get the DVD out of the cupboard and watch it tomorrow
Anne of Cleves, Henry's "loving sister", was wise indeed.
Anne was far more independantly minded than given credit for, and more intelligent than Henry. She was also very good at embarrassing him which was not wise.
Such a bad idea Henry
What? All English people there? In a film about 16th century England? Where are the Africans and the Muslims??? Where are the lgbtq+'s??? This is Soooooooo, like, rayciss and eksclooooooozhunary.
Keith Mitchell: the only actor to ever really BE Henry VIII. A genius portrayal. Makes you think Henry was really on film.
Lynn Frederick was so poignant and lovely as the young Queen, you just want to reach in to the screen and protect her from harm.
This was an Oscar worthy performance. Keith should have been nominated.
Thank you for this. There is a counterpart scene in “Elizabeth R” where Elizabeth is taken to see Cranmer now imprisoned himself, I hope you will post it. “This lady Elizabeth, your goddaughter, stands in as great a peril as the woman you married to her father.”
Poor Mark. The evil Mary Tudor often mocked Elizabeth by claiming Mark Smeaton was her real father.
Anne Boleyn would have her revenge when her daughter became Queen Of England and she was his glorious successor and not Henry VIII son with Jane Seymour Edward VI.
Even more so when Elizabeth died childless and ended the Tudor dynasty.
Supreme Head On Earth Of The Church Of England Insofar As The Law Of Christ Allows. That Was The Full Title Henry VIII Gave Himself. Henry VIII Was Truly Full Of Himself.
While this portrayal of Catherine of Aragon got the hair color right, I wonder why they made her look 10 to 20 years older than Henry VIII when their age gap is only 5 years.
I do think the years of fasting, miscarriages, and weird medieval catholic rituals and remedies aged her hard
Not even a 18 year old would remain looking young after being exposed to so much emotional and physical stress, so many failed pregnancies and such a growing sense of rejection. Every portrait of Catherine of Aragon which depics her as looking far older than Henry VIII is historically accurate for showing how her complexion grew older and weakened very early in her life. There are many contemporary accounts on that from people who met her.
Little has changed with many rival's now having a sinful sexual past and present. Bringing shame on themselves and the UK.😱😱😱😱😱
Little has changed with the royal's many have a sexual sinful past and present. To there SHAME and disgrace to the UK. 😱😱😱😱😱
Such A Strong 💪 Woman. The Daughter Of The Mighty Spanish Monarchs Would Not Bend To The Second Tudor Monarch Her Unworthy Husband. Henry VIII Truly Did Not Deserve Such A Good And Loving Woman 😪 As His Wife And Queen.
She was the luckiest lol. It’s when Henry V111 finds you attractive, that’s when you’re in trouble 😂
