I Bought this E34 535ia with engine damage without knowing the exact problem. I expected to see a blown head gasket or in a bad case a cracked cylinder head. Worst case would be a broken engine block but since the M30 blocks are known as 'indestructable', that wouldn't be the case... Since July 2011 owner of this E30 318is, built in september 1989 and painted in the color 'Sterling Silber'. I bought the car with 222.228 km's on it and did the rebuilt (with help from a friend) on 252.772 km's without any known engine problems except some worn camshaft sprockets.
