So that tube is meant to be putting water into the overflow tube?
This video confirms my deduction.
WHY DID I TRY TO SAVE 30 SECONDS OF MY TIME BY NOT USING THE CLIP!!! Thank you for the assist, I was going insane after replacing my toilet kit
It helped!
Does the refill tube constantly have water flowing from it?
Such a helpful video! I had replaced a flapper for a customer thinking that was causing the water level going down in the tank. I was prepared to change the flush valve when I stumbled on your video. As soon as I shortened the overflow tube the problem disappeared. Thank you for saving time and expense!
Turn to Jesus people, he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved, if you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live by his teachings. God bless you all in Jesus name
I'll check mine to see. I replaced the gasket/flapper disc on the actuator and it's still leaking. So I'll check the hose out. If it's not that it has to be cracked somewhere. Thanks.
But where is water siphoned to? Leak to the toliet bowl? If it siphon back to the tank, why the water level in the tank drop so it need refill?
Thank You! that only cost me one extra flapper valve because I thought the new one was the wrong one for the Kohler Toilet
YT videos are like good wines - the older the better 😂
This video saved my sanity, thank you so much! I had no idea there was a syphon effect, and now that I've watched this video, it makes so much sense. I will never make this mistake again!
Thats crazy.... usually i am able to fogured out everything pretty fast. But this just drove me nuts. Was planning to replace my flapper tube even thought i didnt feel any imperfections on plastic tube. Something new today. Thank you.
I was looking for a video on how to replace the overflow tube, because water was slowly running into my toilet bowl. I almost stopped watching it until you mentioned the refill tube may need to be cut. Tried it and problem solved. Now to figure out why my furnace is working. Haha. Thank you!
OMG. Thank you! Replaced the flapper. Toilet still ran. So frustrating because this is all anyone else ever says to do. Watched your video, literally pulled the refill tube 1/2" upwards, and my toilet is fixed. Probably would have paid a plumber $250 to come out for that one second fix. Thank you, sir.
Hey man, this solved my issue, you're a saint! Thanks
Million dollar tip!🥉🥉🥉🥉🥉
Nailed it exactly siphon problem
Fantastic! That was driving me crazy. Couldn't figure out why it kept refilling. That you much
Thank you. This is very helpful.
I was proud of myself for replacing the fill valve and flapper (which legitimately needed to be replaced) on my own but so frustrated that the water was still running. Approx every minute or so it would run for maybe 5 seconds and then stop. And then start up again. Thank you so much for the tip!!!
The toilet in my apartment has been ghost flushing for ages, maintenance even tried to fix it by replacing a valve and the problem kept on happening. Plus it would make a horrible honking noise every time the tank refill started. Moving this tube fixed the problem! Thanks!!
Thank you.
The pause before like a baby’s butt… 😳😳 WTF?
Absolutely outstanding! I was going crazy! I guess everything is on a toilet for a reason (clip). Thank you very much!
my toilet is constantly running and I've discovered the tube is entirely missing! No idea how it was working fine before this. I've guess any plastic 1/4 inch tubing will do?
Will that cause water to actually leave the tank? I changed the flapper and lever. Water leakes and caused the float to engage the valve every 5 or 10 minutes
This solved my problem! Thank you Robert!
THIS! I hope you know how many people you helped with this video!
Solved my problem! Thanks so much man
You are an angel! THANK YOU!
Brother my understanding was that having that tube to far down would stiffen the commode trap so your commode would run off and on . I been to a few repairs in my long retired plumbing life to where I would just pull the hose out and hear a stiffen the the commode would stop running problem fixed with just the proper clip . I guess different fill valves work differently. What do you think ? Good content thanks for sharing 👍
YES! THIS WAS IT!!! Thank you for this video and sharing your knowledge!!
That was my issue after replacing everthing in the tank... thank you!
My tube constantly pops out! I need a clip. Amazon?
Excellent! Followed your instructions and bingo leak gone! Thanks
Thanks for this video. The random ghost-flushing was stressing me out and I finally found the solution.
Thanks, Dad!
What happens if the tube is connected so that water coming out from hose goes into tank ?
If the tube is too long, can it cause water pouring into the overflow tube?
Still helping 7 years later. I had this issue with my toilet, was driving me nuts. Changed flush valve, flapper and everything. Thanks so much.
Odd mine is short yet it still leaks water
THANK YOU!!! - the amount of time is have spent for such a simple fix...trim the tube to the right length!
Thank you! Makes so much sense when I think about it now.
Dude. I never comment on social media. However, YOU ARE THE MAN. Thank you!
Thank you! The noise has been driving me insane after my landlord “fixed” the toilet.
Thank you! No telling how many gallons we have lost.. That fixed it!!!
It's 1am, my toilet just flooded and this video saved me. Thank you so much!!!
this has been driving me crazy and I've spent a lot of time looking for solutions before I finally found this video. Thank You!!!!
this just solved my problem!
