Then here is something that is going to take all that worry away. ►► www.nextedgetutorials.com/competitionchecklist A completion day checklist that gives you everything you may need to give your best performance. So download our FREE “Competition Day Checklist” Guide →
Have you ever gone to a competition, only to realise that the warm-up was more stressful than your actual program/routine. You only have several minutes to warm up, but so many elements to check! What do I check first? What if I fall over? How do I know what order to do everything? While it may seem daunting, it's much less scary once you know what to do!
In this lesson we're going to show you exactly how to go about an OFFICIAL warm-up for competition. Learn how to take control of that warm-up so you feel confident as soon as you hit the ice. We'll also show you how to stay focused and prepared while waiting for your name to be called. All of this combined will ensure you have the best performance you possibly can!
In this lesson you'll learn:
- How to set out an official warm up
- What to do while waiting for your turn to skate
- How to keep your body warm before your name is called
Happy Skating!

I'm taking my 3rd ice skating class ever tonight at 6, at the age of 39 :D I've been roller skating my whole life [though not competitively except for one year of roller derby], and I've always wanted to figure skate, but we didn't have a nearby ice rink until I was in high school. I'm realistic and have no Olympic aspirations [although if I turn out to be some type of middle-aged prodigy, of course I wouldn't say no! lol] but my only goal at this point is to just be more graceful on ice, or as graceful on ice that I am on wheels! My *dream* is to be able to someday land a double *anything*. If that happens, I'll feel like I can die knowing I've achieved my dream I had since I was 6. If not, that's ok too because I'm having so much fun! Skating is the closest feeling to flying. <3

Just wrong! Salchov is actually only half rotation in the air. Like a walz jump. You started your take off a quarter ealier. It will create problem even with 2S. You will jump "around a corner", it will be never a stable jump.

So happy you like our videos ❤️ I really helpful tip I have found is to practice your official warm up. Let’s say if it’s 4mins you want to know exactly what you’re doing for those 4mins. That way you feel like you’ve maximised your warmup and feel great going out for competition. Set small goals for this competition. Don’t worry about placement as it’s your very first competition and don’t want to put extra pressure on yourself. Have fun and take in the experience. You will have a blast. Let us know how you go ❤️❤️❤️ good luck 😉
