I binged your 10 video series, which is very unusual for me. I am late to the comments, but I still wanted to let you know that I very much enjoyed your video series. I felt like I was on the journey with you, but without having to get wet from rain or sweat. The emotion you had finishing the hike was very powerful. Congratulations on your accomplishement, on your video series and on completing a wonderful, albeit lonely at times, adventure.

I honestly love your videos. I found your CT video series first (I'm doing the CT this August) and then watched this series. I live outside of Chicago and use the Lusk Creek Wilderness area of Shawnee for shakedown trips - but honestly, the River-to-River trail is relatively unknown for a reason - it kind of sucks especially compared to the CT (or any trail in Colorado), the AT, etc. Have you thought of doing the John Muir Trail? That was my first solo backpacking experience and it was a life-changer for me in 2020 (I'm old enough to be your dad). Regarding solo female safety, I definitely recognize the issue as I know several female hikers who wouldn't consider doing it solo. It really pisses me off that there are creeps out there that make you feel unsafe. I've met several solo females along my hikes and I try to go out of my way to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Definitely a bigger deal in towns and near trailheads - once you get into the wilderness, 99.9% of the people are awesome. Hike on!

Watched your whole CT trail series - loved it! I've done parts of the CT and going back in August to do the full thing. Hike on!

I really enjoyed my R2R hike. I didnt get too far though. Took a bad ankle twisting fall just West of Garden of the Gods, so it was really short. A local who lives right on the side of the trail rescued me. I camped on High knob, as well as a few other spots in that area. Sat at that exact same park bench!

Great series! I’m considering doing this hike in the Spring 2024. Hopefully, the water situation will be a bit better! I did a four day hike around the Garden of the Gods area the end of October 2023. The water situation was horrible! That said, I really enjoyed your journey! Thanks for blazing the trail!

Way to represent solo female hikers -- great videos! So much good info shared for others to follow in your footsteps. Congratulations! Those trail markers suck -- no wonder you struggled.

I’m an amateur backpacker and have been making plans to do this trail in a couple years. My eight year old daughter started watching your R2R videos with me and for the first time ever said “daddy I want to go backpacking with you.” No doubt you inspired her. So thanks for the great videos and thanks for getting a little girl interested in backpacking with her dad.

It's not just you. I am a middle aged man 6 for 3 and 240 pounds. I always get people asking me about my safety. Do I carry a gun, does anyone know where you are, why are you out hiking alone? It's irritating. Another thing, that only happens in the south. When I am in the west or the upper great lakes area nobody finds it odd.

You started your hike just over a week before I finished the CT in the same year!! Would have been cool to cross paths! Segment 17 is roooough. I struggled the day that I did segment 17 as well. The terrain isn't that great so that doesn't help. I just could not keep pace at all that day. But the next day I did 18 and 19 all at once ending in a 30 mile day and felt great! I think its just segment 17 that sucks the life outta ya. I am not sure if my videos shows my struggles that much that day...

I want to say I’m really enjoying this series of the CT. You truly show the highs and lows of thru hiking. I’m hoping to finish the PCT this year but with the insane snow levels I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get on trail so if that’s the case I’d like to come do the CT first to give the snow more time to melt. Just a tip for future hikes when you vlog. Maybe consider giving the dates your on trail in your videos because I realize what the season is for the CT so I use these videos for research and I have no idea when you hiked and it’s looking like you hiked a ton in the rain so it would be nice to know what dates you hiked. Anyway thanks again, really enjoying your journey. Cheers Marmalade

You are one tough hiker!! I so enjoyed watching your AT journey….I summited Katahdin on Labor Day of 2020, and I know you would have made it, if not for your virus. I watched your 2021 CT hike also, and I can’t wait to return to the CT the end of June this year. God willing, I’ll finish it.

I started watching your channel because I plan to thru-hike the Colorado Trail, but now I’m hooked on the content, even if it’s two years old. It was sad/funny that your birthday present to yourself was fresh socks, and the way you told the story of the “cougar warning” had me rolling. 😂 I hope all is well and I hope you’re still enjoying the outdoors! Thanks for the content.
