​@@hollycaputowanderlust Google gave you a wrong information my dear . Since the beginning the French colonial government of Indochina already designed that building as a city hall . And it was built in the same style as the Hotel de Ville in Paris ( have you ever seen that building in Paris ? ) Only the Continental Hotel on Dong Khoi street ( not too far from the Saigon city hall ) was designed as an hotel . I think you can throw your Google App. in the trash bin lady . Also it's not the IMPERIAL PALACE , but the INDEPENDENCE PALACE or the REUNIFICATION PALACE or the PRESIDENTIAL PALACE . FYI there is no imperial palace in Saigon but only in Huê city and Hanoi city for the simple reason that the ancient emperors of Vietnam never resided in Saigon .

I appreciate your information, but I cannot go back & forth on the information provided by the internet. When people are not from the city, and only have the internet to research our information, we have to rely on that information & hope that the internet was correct, and I did use multiple sources.

If you are using the rail a lot - a Rail Pass can be handy...but more complicated..if just booking from Milan & Back...then Omio is great, b/c it will give you all options, once you put in your dates.
