WHAAAT! That's why your hair always look so good! What's the fabric store? I wanna come visit (and ask a ton of questions). :)
I never get circular yokes to fit me nicely :(
Omg that pintucked dress 😍 my jaw is on the floor
Beautiful projects!
thank you!!
I love the pleats! Do you use a special foot on your machine for that?
thanks patricia!! the pintucks are sewn with a 1/4 inch seam allowance so i used a 1/4 inch foot i bought for quilting!
You're such a talented knitter and I love seeing all your colourwork. Your color pairings are always so good! For fit w/ circular yokes, I was reading that if you're moving the sieeves when separating, to only do it by a few stitches vs multiple inches. A little goes a long way, apparently. And since your yokes are turning out big, i know that sometimes people will pick a size based on upper bust measurement then cast on the extra stitches they need when they split for sleeves. I hope to see you post again before rhinebeck, but if not have a great time!!
thanks so much, these are great tips!!
Your sheep camp is beautiful!!!
thank you!!
Your handspun Harlow is absolutely GORG!!! I always love your handspun so much. I haven’t spun anything for a few months, you’re inspiring me to get back to my wheel ❤
thanks madison!! i should also get back on the wheel so i can make more hats!!
Hi Claire, I was super excited to see another video of yours pop up to watch. Yours are always my favorite to watch on a chill morning with my own knitting. And the insights that you bring to your design process are really helpful when thinking about knitting myself too. I love seeing all the things you make, and this time was no exception! I hope you have a good time at Reinebeck, and get to wear your wonderful sewn and knit garments!
thank you so much michele, you’re too kind!! and thanks for watching :)
I’ve also been having lots of thoughts about my circular yoke sweaters recently. I get a bit of bunching in the same spot you were pointing to. But I know I’ll make more in future because I love the designs so much. My ruminating at the moment is that maybe my upper bust is disproportionately smaller than my full bust. Because my chest sits quite low, like the widest measurement is a pretty far below where I separate for sleeves. So I’ve been considering for my next one that I’ll size down for the colourwork and then do some increases after finishing the yoke. Or maybe cast on quite a few extra underarm stitches? Lol I’m just thinking out loud into your comments 😂 maybe this is not a fully fleshed out plan… Anyway! I love the ways you’re finding to use your handspun. They feel very timeless
hahaha, feel free to think out loud here any time! i do think that might be my issue as well. i think my bust is proportionally small for my size… so much to consider. but it’s true that it’s worth considering because there are so many lovely round yoke sweaters out there!
Having the same round yoke issues as well.... my sleeves feel too big, as does the front. Thinking next time I will experiment with using my upper bust measurements for the yolk then increase to full bust size.
this seems to be what i should try next as well!
Go Claire <3
😎
You're a talented human, there Claire. I love how you analyze your sweaters. I just got my knitting mojo back after a long dry summer and it feels good to be at it again. Your podcast was quite timely. Thanks!
thanks so much ann! i’m glad the video came at a good time :))
Have you ever used Illimani Sabri?! One of my favorite yarns of all time and sounds right up your street for summer.
i have not! but i’d love to try it, thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Claire! I'm always so happy when you post a new video. Your videos are my comfort watch every time. Your purple lace tee and Sheep Camp sweater are incredible! I'm not a sewer at all but wow, your projects blew my mind. When you tried on your bedsheet dress, I actually gasped! And that gingham pintuck one...I think that's my dream dress! I love seeing all the projects you've been up to. Looking forward to your next video already.
ohh thank you you’re too kind!! i’m so glad you like the videos and the things i make :)))
Beautiful knits! The purple lace tee looks amazing on you. Just had to chime in to say I’m pretty sure that yarn is named after an old Metric song (Succexy) 😊 which is a thing I know because I am old 😂
hahaha i think you must be right!! i haven’t thought about metric in a long time… so thank you for the reminder!
I made an Azor earlier this year! It was very fun to knit and it’s quite pretty; I think my only quibble is I could’ve done with fewer short rows / something about the fit feels a SMIDGE off but I’m struggling to articulate it without the piece in front of me
hmmm yes there are quite a lot of short rows at the back under the yoke, i could see it maybe feeling too long back there?? but we’ll see! i feel like maybe some of them could be moved to the back of the neck instead.
Your intro always make me sooooo happy
🥰 me too!!!
Hi Claire, I always love listening to your thought processes and your knitting is so neat. It´s remarkable. Also your sowing is inspiring to me. I still have a week of my summer vacation left. Forecast shows rain for the better part of that week. Should be ideal to finally get started with my pile of sowing projects and start a colourwork cardigan as my first fall knitting project. Lots of love to you from Germany.
thank you so much for watching, and for your comment! i hope your rainy week of making is going well, it sounds like a perfect last week of summer to me!!
Hi Claire, your Azor yoke modification is so good! Yay. Love your projects, both sewing and knitting :) Im working on a Vilma top in one strand of plotulopi, which I think will turn out pretty great for the Danish fall weather. My other bigger tip is the Kordy Pullover in Lettlopi, so only Icelandic wool on the needles here. Check in soon, always a pleasure. Take care, Ida
i’m always so happy to see your comments, ida! the vilma top is soo lovely, i definitely have my eye on it. and i love the kordy too! it will be so cozy in lettlopi! happy knitting :))
No worries, I’ve got a flat part on the back of my head too. Love you lots.❤
Hey, just a tip how you measure hats it’s 7 inches for the crown 4 inches for the cuff and another 4 inches if you want to turn the cuff
You know what I’ve started doing with my knitted tops, pairing them with hand sound skirts try sewing some skirts and you’ll love wearing the outfits together
it is a great combo for sure!!
So happy when you post a vid. I'm very tempted to go to Rhinebeck this year with my sheep camp so I can be one of the cool kids 😎
let me know if you do!! would love to meet everyone and wear our sheep camps together!
@@purlwise.knitting I think I will be going after all! It's close enough to be a day trip for me, so I am gonna go for it. I'd love to get the chance to meet you! 😻
Your Sheep Camp looks amazing! I’m also glad to hear that I’m not the only one cross stitching because of Amy Beth. I’m currently sitting in my cozy cross stitch nest while getting over a bout of covid which has thankfully not been too bad.
she’s an inspiration!! glad you have your stitching to keep you company and i hope you’re on the mend ❤️🩹
I ran to watch this. You´re knitting is so inspiring :)
ohh thank you so much! i hope you liked the video!
Your projects are knit so clean, love your yarn choices as well. Beautiful episode!
thanks so much!!
It always makes me so happy to see another upload of yours! I will save it for later. Already looking forward to it. Love from the Netherlands 😊❤
thank you!! i hope it was worth the wait :))
Yay!! So glad to see your show come up ….😃👏🏼🥰🧶🧶🧶 from Connecticut… cool new jobs ✂️🧵🪡
thanks judy!!!
filer does mean spun :)
I got the supported spindle from urso this summer :D hope you like your turkish spindle! :)
Does anyone know if she has a public Ravelry account? I'm so inspired by her makes.
i don't have a public one, i'm sorry! if ever you have questions about my makes though please feel free to leave a comment - or you can reach me on instagram @purl_wise
She's done it again!!!
Your wilder dresses are gorgeous - that silk one!! 😍 I’m so impressed by your quilt too. I also just got some Santolina to knit the rib lace raglan. I’m going to have to resist casting on another dappled lace with it though. Your dappled lace is so pretty. The lace is addictive and so fun to knit.
That quilt you made for your friends is absolutely beautiful! I am not a quilter but I love how the colours vs black play together. I hope you enjoy your time in BC, it's my home province. 😀
What lovely projects! The dresses look lovely on you, I think the Wilder gown is really nice to wear. Love the quilt too. I’m definitely going to look at that pattern. Love all the knitting projects too. 😊❤
Wow, Claire, your dresses are so beautiful!! The little bow on the collar is adorable and suits you so well. And that quilt with the little embroidery you made is lovely and so special. I'm sure your friends will treasure it. Of course, I love all of your knitting projects (as always!). Your podcast makes my day! I'm really sorry you got C0vid. I'm immunocompromised and my partner and I continue to be super cautious, N95s everywhere. You must be taking precautions too to be able to avoid it for 4 years (if so, thank you!!). I really hope you recover quickly. Oh, and I know your hair was bothering you but I thought it looked so cute! I'm always inspired by your style.
Your Wilder Gown look grate and I love the fabric for both ?
I love your podcast. Your gentle way is so lovely!
You’ve got to knit the T U L C sooo goood❤❤❤❤
Sending you love, I can relate❤
Your dress for the wedding is fabulous! The quilt? Your knitting? You’re knocking it out of the park!
I adore everything in this episode omg!!! Also hope to run into you at Rhinebeck this year! 💓
thanks madison!! we should try and meet up, i would love to meet you!!
@@purlwise.knitting yes please!!! Same!!
Beautiful quilt.
thank you!!
Claire, your sewing 😍😍 So beautiful! I plan to copy all of it! Thank you for sharing 🌻 I just finished a dappled lace raglan in that exact color and love it. All the best and your hair looks great 💝 Ida
thanks ida!! i'm so glad we can match in our dappled lace raglans!
I love the purple! Also, I had covid the first time last year and it was rough. I hope you feel better soon <3🌷🐞☕🍰
thanks alekz <3 it sucks!!
Theme song got me hooked! Love it <3 The dresses was astonishing and really cool construction with bow in the collar! And I hope you will wear them again because you looked absolutely gorgeous! I'm making some scrappy projects now (bonnet, scrunchie, maybe a Simple Thing scarf if pattern is simple) and then will be continuing pink socks with mohair Also wish you a speedy recovery from C*vid
thank you!! i should be doing more scrappy projects because i have so many scraps! those sound like good ones.
Your wilder gown is gorgeous. It's both elegant and fun.
thank you, kristin!
Oh my goodness I love your silk dress. The collar is gorgeous on you and that quilt! Are you kidding? You are definitely inspiring me to do my first quilt
thank you!! and you definitely should, quilting is so fun and satisfying!
Your silk dress is a triumph!
thanks mom!!
