Mine says region free on the back but it can only play all region DVDs not blu rays

I got the same player and followed the instructions to change regions but it didn't work. Any ideas, or was I perhaps cheated?

My dad has this exact same player! But I followed you directions on how to set the player to region free, but it didn’t work. I used a Region 2 DVD.

I don't stream movies because they show in letterbox with bars and b or the full screen as i like it.

Can someone help me make it region free? I am open to all suggestions. Where it goes wrong for me is when I take the disc back out and shut it off, I press the blue button and Its DOESN'T turn back on. What am I missing I even reset it back to the factory settings. Still didn't work. I bought this brand new.

Player is good tho having to manually turn Dolby Vision on and off is a massive pain in the ass
