We believe that this variety highlights the importance of seeking truth and understanding God’s will. One primary reason for this diversity is that God has given us agency to choose, as seen in the Bible. In Joshua 24:15, it says, “Choose you this day whom ye will serve,” which affirms that we each have the freedom to follow our own understanding of God’s will. Additionally, intentional attempts by some to obscure the true nature of God have contributed to this confusion. As Paul notes in 2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,” showing that not all interpretations are clear or accurate. A key doctrine of Christ evident in the scriptures is the role of prophets. Amos 3:7 states, “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” This emphasizes that God communicates His will through prophets to guide His people accurately. Sadly, many Christian faiths focus on warnings about false prophets, such as Matthew 7:15, which says, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” While these warnings are important, they sometimes overshadow the acknowledgment that a true prophet can be found and that such a prophet communicates with the Lord to bless those seeking His guidance. Christ Himself warned of a great apostasy that would come among the people. In Matthew 24:11, He said, “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” This foretold a period where the fullness of the gospel would be lost, leading to confusion and the proliferation of differing interpretations. The Book of Revelation also foretells the restoration of the gospel. Revelation 14:6 states, “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.” This prophecy indicates that the everlasting gospel would be declared anew in the last days. We believe that this angel did indeed come. His name was Moroni. He visited a young man named Joseph Smith and entrusted him with an ancient record of prophets who once lived here in the Americas. This record, known as the Book of Mormon, not only witnesses to the truthfulness of the Bible but also clarifies doctrines that have caused division among Christians. Along with this ancient record, other heavenly messengers who had authority to act in the name of the Lord prior to the great apostasy came to confer upon Joseph Smith and others the authority to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world. These messengers include John the Baptist and the Lord’s apostles Peter, James, and John, among others. Their visits restored the divine authority necessary to continue God’s work on earth. The most important thing that will bring change and unity is personal revelation. True prophets speak the will of the Lord to man, and the Lord does answer prayers. As people turn to the Lord in prayer with a sincere heart, He will help them know that what has been shared is true. As the Bible states in James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” It was this very verse of scripture that Joseph Smith, as a young boy, read and which led him to pray vocally aloud. This earnest prayer opened the heavens, beginning the restoration of the fullness of the Lord’s gospel with a literal visit from Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father to Joseph Smith. Many people question this heavenly visit, but the scriptures are full of examples of young prophets whom God chooses to communicate with. For instance, the prophet Samuel was called by God as a young boy, as described in 1 Samuel 3:4-10, where God spoke to him while he was still a child. Such examples demonstrate that God can and does choose young individuals to receive His divine messages. For example, anyone can know that the Book of Mormon is a second witness of Christ. Millions have prayed and received a strong personal witness from the Lord. Similarly, you can come to know that Russell M. Nelson is a true Prophet of God, just as I and millions of others do. As he has taught, in these challenging times, we each need personal revelation to navigate our spiritual journeys and make informed decisions (see "Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives," October 2018 General Conference). I personally have found scripture study extremely helpful. The following verse from the Bible comes to mind: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). To truly understand, you may need to feast upon the word of God. I created this channel and titled it "The Words of Christ" for a reason. You can know these words are true, not by trusting me or any other man, but by asking the Lord. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and loves us perfectly, and He will teach you through the Holy Ghost in a way that is perfect for you. One thing I have done and taught others is to get the spirit of Christ to come to you immediately is to think in your mind the following question: What is it that I must start or stop doing to get closer to the Lord? Immediately you'll be reminded of something that most likely you have ignored. Don’t ignore it but comply with the answers, and you'll begin the movement back to our Lord and Savior. Remember, He does not force but invites, and the invitation is very gentle, just like what happens when you ask yourself this important question.

I understand where you’re coming from. We believe that works are an essential expression of our faith. As the Bible teaches, “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:20). However, we also emphasize that salvation comes through Jesus Christ and that our works are a response to His grace and love, not a means to earn it.
