My three most gripes of the game: -Monster lifespan is too short, 3 years 4 weeks in average, it feels short given you can only interact once per week. -You can't really control the monster while training and the training adjusts to the monster skills. Imagine if the Errantry (mini quests) are playable... I can only reach the "Wanted" monster fight once in my life. -Adventure events are random and it's easy to miss them. That there's also the amount of steps are limited according to monster skills and it's capping to 999. That i raised my monster rank to B first time (Zuum the Dino) parallel's Korone one, though Zuum is somewhat easier to raise. There's a less sadder variant of "passing away" where if you're raising a Phoenix, the Phoenix will found its true calling and fly away instead at the time where supposedly the monster "dies". Still it was a somewhat memorable digs from the past, underrated compared to pok... Metal Gear Solid. (my parents didn't buy Pokemon for me until FireRed/LeafGreen because it's 8 bit and "we already have PlayStation One) Speaking of Suezo, he is indeed the series mascot. The Mocchi one originates from the anime (kid got isekaied from a "never seen before release of Monster Rancher 200X" he got from an esports tournament after surprised finding out some of the game's monsters are evil, kid uses the CD trying to return home but instead he got Mocchi) until it was ported to the game, though with different story.

Big fan of Monster rancher 2. My childhood game

Broly is one of the only instances I can think of where rebooting something actually ends up making it so much better. Super Broly very quickly became my favourite character. Though I suppose with the hard-on for Kakarrot character we were left with, you can only go up from there.
