Simple fix, just the tactile buttons going bad and needed to be replaced. Definitely recommend having a good soldering iron/station for this kind of work.
Trying To Fix Stuff: Xbox One X With No Audio or Video
Переглядів 1942 роки тому
Little bit of a shorter video. The TDP158 HDMI retimer IC needed to get swapped to fix the no audio/video issue with this Xbox One X. The HDMI port doesn't normally go bad on the xbox consoles, I've seen a couple, but the HDMI chip is usually the issue. Unlike the PS4 where the HDMI port can get destroyed easily! Common things to know it's the TDP158: No audio/video, colors missing on screen, o...
Tear down of my Statefarm Tracker (safe driver discount)
Переглядів 2,9 тис.2 роки тому
Short little video, just tearing into this since it was extra and Statefarm didn't want it back. Not much to show on it honestly, just some bog-standard BLE chip and flash memory with the largest button battery I've ever seen.
Trying To Fix Stuff: Replace The Cable of a 24v Power Supply

Simple enough fix, the cable for the power supply got cut through at some point. Fortunately the case for this power supply wasn't glued/sonic welded together, but just clipped. Crack it open and replace the cable.

Pretty simple fix, HDMI port was visually damaged and causing no video on the TV. Swap it out for a new one, clean it up, new thermal paste, re-install the OS, and she plays just fine!
Trying To Fix Stuff: Xbox One Elite Controller (Series 2) With a Bad L3 Button
Переглядів 36 тис.3 роки тому
The L3 button doesn't make a "click" and isn't registered when pressed. Time to crack it open and try to fix it. It would be a lot easier to buy a replacement Series 2 analog stick but I didn't want to wait...
Trying To Fix Stuff: Nintendo Switch Lite with No Backlight

No backlight on the screen but the LCD worked. You can test this by shining a flashlight, or some kind of light up close, and see if you can see an image. Also swapped out the broken analog stick. All in all, a pretty easy fix.

I did get new Ssd but isn’t Working Show me Error 106 101 and the POWER button is blinking 2times I waste my money
Gona try and replace it 🤙
Wew... it's really working again. I was really suprise. Thank you.
Mine started with a flashing black screen and now no signal can it be a bad port
Are there any replacement for the rubber thumb sticks? I have seen the whole thumb stick on Amazon but I don't if it will fit
Unfortunately, none that I've seen for these. You might be able to swap the entire analog stick, desolder the old one, with a replacement that would fit the aftermarket replacement gameube thumb caps. The depth of the replacement caps might be too high or low though
cheap sticks that you find on amazon do not work properly, they feel too gummy. and, the stick rubber tends to wear away very quickly.
They aren't perfect, they're not like the original ones, but you can't get OEM thumbsticks from Nintendo. The alternative is keep using the original thumbstick that has no rubber at all left, or torn/missing chunks. They still look nice (color slightly off) and feel fine. Only real problem I've had is the internal hole is deeper than the original, which is why I'm using the UV curing glue to add a little bit of height to the stick. Also gotten away with using a little, tiny, ball of blu tack. Also helps to prevent the thumbstick from lifting up and down
My Xbox one X no longer wants to boot to mainscreen... Stuck on 26016.1002.amd64fre.rs_cbox_dev_flight.231211.2030, which is OS 10.0.26016.1002 Official one released now is 10.0.25398.4478... So does this mean I need to wait till an OS higher than 10.0.26016.1002 is released till I can restore the Xbox again?
Not sure about that one. Usually if it gets stuck on doing an update just wiping the HDD and rebuilding it fixes it. Don't think waiting for a higher update would do anything
what kind of soldering iron do you use ?
KSGER T12. A variety of different tips and around $40
A simple pry tool under the battery and a careful pry of it will remove it every time.
Hi bro,if HDMI port doesnt work,if i buy cablr for and connect does it gonna work…to show picture on tv,by the way great video! :D
I changed its HDMI, but I didn't understand what the update had to do with it.
Been a while since I did this but I think I might have had to replace the HDD at the beginning. I usually scan the HDDs to make sure there's no errors/warnings or bad sectors. Almost all of the PS3s I've worked on have bad HDDs, just due to age
Well, this was completely useless.
mine has black light but no display
Yeah I’m jus finna throw my shii away
Give it to me
Thank you so much for making this vid!! I Had a C stick that was bouncing all over the place and pulling in the opposite direction when I used it, but thanks to your vid I was able to clean up the contact points and now it works like new. thank you so much dude!!
CY = Cypress Semiconductor.
This tutorial is fake if you try and unscrew a thumb stick it fucking breaks
Tried this a few days ago. It didn't go well. First i couldn't get the solder to melt to remove the port. Eventually i got it by ripping it the rest of the way off. Then the holes where it seats had too much solder in them and i couldn't get the new port seated properly. I barely got it attached finally but it's still not in the holes as good as it should be. I'm just gonna put it back together and hope for the best but yeah i probably screwed it up worse. What heat gun is that your using? I think i ordered the wrong one. It was a mini heat gun and it wouldn't even melt the solder at all. For my first attempt at soldering id say i pretty much blew it.
Those ground pins suck up a lot of heat, so it does need a good solder iron with a good tip at a pretty high heat. I was probably doing the soldering iron around 400C The hot air station is some generic 858D. Been a while since I bought it but you should be able to find one for under $40 and it's been worth the investment
Have a like for the big Clive shout out!! 😂
Do you have a video on what to do when the arms for the button are broken? Button clicks, but the shoulder is snapped
Sorry, my friend let me tell you again. I have a 24 vote. Power pack on the lead it's got around black nozle. It's round and it's black. What does it do? Can I cut that off? Thank you
Hello, my friend. I was just wondering. I have a 24 vote, little power pack. It's on the one of the Leeds. It's got a round black nod rule. What does it do I always wondered what it does while it's for
How do you get off the thumb stick like I've been trying for ages
Nice build!
Great vid man!
I enjoyed every minute of this video, Good job sir and keep up the good work.⭐️
That is a lithium ion cell.
My first video from you. I like your style and enjoy fixing things myself. I have one suggestion though. Sometimes you go a little too fast in explaining some things. I know you are fixed on "youtube" time, but some things do get lost. But all-in-all, GREAT content.
Hi do you install the bootloader on you pro mini?
The ones I've purchased already come with the bootloader. If it doesn't though, you can use another preloaded arduino to program other arduinos and load the bootloader. There's also dedicated boards you can get for loading MCUs
Well Thxs but twisting the joystick off completely snapped the inside no clue how but yeah Thxs very much should of just felt with it not clicking bc not I ain’t got a working controller 😢
Hey, i got one recently and drifted after only 3 months, i want to replace the stick with the hall effect ones from guili kit, would this be possible?
Can you fix my ps4 slim because it is not turning on and can you get it out of rest mode because i am selling it thx.
i have a similar problem in mine but the screen turns green and sounds like a tesla coil with a low hz
Trying to fix stuff sounds like a great name for a You Tube channel.
Thank you for this very detailed and extensive video! Although i couldn't save my friend's PS4 Slim
YOU SAVED MY LIFE THANK YOU
Pudiste solucionar el problema ?
Everything was good until "desoldering by scraping" 11:26. WTF was that?
I turned it on amd then it turned off by itself and it wont trun on i tried everything i changed the cords and the outlet and it still wont turn on
Can I pay u to fix mine?
fake
52:15 thank you. I was having trouble reassembling and it was because I also had the screw in the wrong hole.
Same lol
Just so you know u need to use high percentage rubbing alcohol to get rid of the stickiness and most of the smell
What kind of hard drive should I buy? I’ve tried several hard drives that read as good but I keep getting errors. It’s frustrating. It will load sometimes and but other times it goes to error screen.
My ps4 only turns on from the controller and not the console
The power button is bad. If it's a slim or pro it's on its own little daughter board, super easy to swap out. If it's an original it'll be soldered to the motherboard, which I've done a video on
If yiu shine a torch on the screen you will see everything, but it's extremely dim, but it's just enough to do what you need to do, I had to do it it deregister a primary account, I learned this trick through tv repair
I messed up the board trying to desolder the hole.
What did you use to desolder? I wish it shows on the video. Desoldering is the most difficult part, specially the one clogged up the hole.
What temp did you use to remove the stick, and what tools did you use ?(solder braid, solder pump...?) This thing seems impossible to remove. Alternatively, would you consider using hot air for this process ? Thank you !
The xbox controller has a pretty big ground plane, which sucks up a lot of heat. I've taken them off with hot air, and then cleaned up the holes using a solder sucker or braid To make it faster, I just use the soldering iron (about 400C) and solder sucker. Otherwise I'd have to take the green PCB off the board to use the hot air. Plus the hot air might melt the plastics, and I was trying to just swap the button on this
@@KylesTinkering thanks for the fast answer ! I'm trying to do the same as you, only change the button, so I might avoid using hot air. But my solder sucker doesn't seem powerful enough to remove the solder. Do you have any buying advice for this particular tool ? Again, thanks for replying so quickly
@@sim_lmbr add a big glob of solder to all the points and move your iron across them while pulling the analog. Use something like a flat screwdriver to wedge under the analog because the metal will get very hot. Should wiggle out. Then just apply the soldering iron and sucker until you clear the holes
@@KylesTinkeringThxs for helping me destroy my controller rip left joy stick just completely snapped
