Ok, I disagree with you, but I will try my best to explain why and love to see what you think and please read it fully, it will be very long! The first point that I notice is that you put Bitcoin and "Crypto" in one pot, this is fundamentally wrong. I 100% Agree that all the crypto space excluding Bitcoin is a Ponzi sell the narrative scheme with no real world use case outside the crypto bubble. They claim to be decentralized and as safe as Bitcoin which is not the case but sadly enough people buy the narratives and are indeed the greater Fool. The difference with Bitcoin is that it is truly decentralized, and basically impossible unless you match the computing power of all the miners across the world by 100% which is not just matching the hash rate but also being able to get hold of the miners and of course electricity. It isn't impossible, but i'm sure you can understand how unlikely this is... In its early stages the network was supper fragile and easy to destroy because the Idea from Satoshi was a collective truth (the protocol saved on all nodes and miners that ensures that everyone participate under the same rules, for example the 21mio cap due to exponential effect due to the halving. If you change any of the rules like the 21 million, Block time, difficulty etc. you effectively have a second Bitcoin network where people need to update their rules to yours, an example of this is Bitcoin Cash). This also means that the Bitcoin network is and was never controlled by one entity, Satoshi also just mined and developed the system with many other people but never had "ownership" and the network grew organically. That having ownership is impossible was made clear with the Bitcoin Fork (Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin), which is something I would advise you to read your self into of what happened. This brings me to the main criticism you have against BTC, that it's a Ponzi scheme which on the surface when looking at Bitcoin as a speculative investment is true when you compare the textbook definition, but there are 4 main points why Bitcoin can't be a Ponzi: 1. It functions as a decentralized system for transferring value, not as an investment scheme promising returns (Shilling UA-camrs say that and make it seem like that is the key feature of Bitcoin. They promise this because it is naturally happening when any network is young and slowly being adopted more, but it's not the "use case" or selling point of Bitcoin, I will summarize these later). 2. As I said, Bitcoin has no central entity profiting from the system, those who took the risk of the system never working, getting attacked in its early stages now have huge wealth, but this is also the case with anything that can make it big but is fragile, I don't know if opportunity cost is the right phrase though. Ponzi schemes always involve a mastermind who siphons funds, this is not the case. 3. Returns in Bitcoin (if any) come from market dynamics, not redistribution from new participants. 4. The blockchain provides full transaction visibility, which is the opposite of the secretive nature of Ponzi schemes. So we know who owns how much Bitcoin and I personally never took a look at this, but Bitcoin is actually better contributed than I thought with 57% laying in individuals hands, certainly better distributed than the US Dollar... river.com/learn/who-owns-the-most-bitcoin/ and bgeometrics.com/bitcoin-distribution/ The Austrian School of Economics has a good definition of what good money is, that was sort of true during the Gold standard. 1. Durability 2. Divisibility 3. Portability 4. Scarcity 5. Uniformity 6. Recognizability 7. Store of Value 8. Medium of Exchange 9. Unit of Account 10. Market Selection Over Time Bitcoin is durable because it is not a physical good (it is secured by time and energy, more on that in a bit), One Bitcoin is divisible into 100million Satoshi's, Bitcoin is infinitely portable if you know the seed phrase, it is absolutely scarce and It is the first and only good where the scarcity is evident (we don't know exactly how much Gold is in the world, or silver, possibly we find more gold on meteorites or in countries we haven't mined yet, but there is proof that there are only 21 Million BTC ever to exist), Bitcoin is absolutely uniform an incorruptible (double spending for example), Bitcoin is not possible to counterfeit (This is not the case with Bitcoin Cash btw, which is the reason the network never overturned Bitcoin), It is too young to say exactly how volatile the system will be, but we do see it becoming less and less volatile as adoption rises but generally due to the last points Bitcoin brings optimal conditions to be the best store of value we could ever have, Bitcoin is exchangeable in unlimited scale within seconds when you use the lightning network by installing your own Node and also making the system more ridget. Now you could measure economic goods in Bitcoin, but at the moment it is still too young and volatile for that to actually mean anything. Lastly, Austrian economists argue that good money arises naturally in the market, rather than being imposed by governments. Historically, precious metals like gold and silver emerged as money due to their intrinsic qualities. And this is exactly what Bitcoin did and what sets it apart from all the other Crypto currencies because all the others got into the market by token drops/airdrops, providing advertisers their coin for promotion to build a fan base around the coin but all of them have one in common, they have at least had one single entity of control over the system, a Ponzi scheme! Bitcoin is slow (besides lightning network) for a reason and roughly has a 10 minute Blocktime (the changing difficulty to complete a new block) was by design made to be round about 10 minutes. Bitcoin’s 10-minute block time is crucial for security, as it gives the network enough time to achieve consensus and prevent double-spending attacks by making it computationally expensive (now almost impossible) to rewrite transaction history. For example early exchanges relied on this delay, requiring multiple confirmations to ensure transactions were irreversible, as sustaining an attack for even a few blocks was impractically difficult due to the network’s proof-of-work design that is different to all the other Proof of Work models from Ponzi shitcoins. To successfully double-spend, an attacker would need to control at least 51% of the network's hash rate, sustaining this for enough time (e.g., 10 minutes per block) to rewrite or outpace the blockchain, which becomes increasingly impractical as the network's energy demand and difficulty adjust to its total hash rate. As you said, Bitcoin has never lived through a business cycle, it has never experienced a propper crash and in past smaller ones it was super volatile. That is correct and the only reason why I can't support people who say to have a 100% allocation in BTC because this is for me the last test for Bitcoin to prove its self. But you can not compare Bitcoin to a stock/company like ENRON because of everything I just tried to explain from my point of view. An often made comparison to Bitcoin is the Internet, a destructive technologie uncontrollable by a single entity that grew naturally. There is a reason why there is only one Internet and why there will be only one Bitcoin, the Network / Lindy effect. So that comparison is incorrect, ENRON hat a corrupt leadership, was controlled by a single entity and was 0% transparent. I believe the reason why Bitcoin had such brutal downturns is for once that it is so young and new technology but more importantly the degenerate UA-cam Scam BS crypto NFT bubble (talking about Paul brothers, KSI, MrBeast, Alex Becker etc, all these people who should go to hell for exploiting their young viewership so recklessly for a bit of fiat money) further amplified by the first little percent of tradfy through the legacy media. I personally was surprised by the super super bad representation after the burst of bitcoin and the scam collapse of FTX that we didn't go any lower. You are also correct to point out the way Bitcoin trades compared to Nasdaq and the majority of holders I think are likely to be normal speculative investors, this doesn't disprove the growing integration of Bitcoin into our economy for example the Trump administration suggesting a Bitcoin fund to back the USD during sinking influence in the Global trade. I am very sure Bitcoin will see easily 70% 80% dips but every time it proved that is coming out the other side stronger than before. Imagine telling someone in 2018 that we will hit 100k, they think you would be mentally ill, but it happened. We got spot ETF and I think options too, for the exact reason why Bitcoin is different to all the other shitcoins the Ethereum ETF did horrible and ETH its self is horrible. I think that this is enough and I am glad if I can try to answer any questions as I am also not no Bitcoin specialist and still learning, but instead of looking at it surface value for a minute and saying its a Ponzi, I try to understand why people are so religiously invested in this and I try to figure out its flaw, but I couldn't find it yet, also I not no cognitive dissonance idiot and can be wrong with everything that I wrote here :D I guess there is only one way to find out and that is to watch BTC during the next crash...

This turned out to be comically long, but this is exactly the point. Bitcoin is very complicated on a technological level, and let's not get into the philosophy of a good money and Bitcoins potential role. It is not "it's a Ponzi scheme" or "Oh what if the electricity goes down" and stop actually trying to figure out what it is / what would happen.

I trade the charts, even if it's a soon to be bankrupt company, I don't buy & hold, I can speculate on dogshit on the floor as long as the chart looks good what does that have to do with me believing crypto is a ponzi? I trade for a living. Crypto is better for trading because it has 0 fundamentals and idc what the thing I'm speculating on does, all that matters is where there's obvious liquidity in the charts for me to speculate on.. also 0 fees for trading, if this goes to zero tomorrow idc. You could argue trading is immoral because you're taking money from clueless impatient gambling addicts but it's what I do for a living and unlike MoonBoys buying and holding the thing I don't need to because trading is a actual skill. It will be economically viable for attackers to rent and btc wil no longer be safe. Exchanges will have to require very high confirmation counts and it will no longer safe for transacting because any big transfer makes an attack more worth. It did happen before with btc clones.

I think you're missing the real ponzi schemes in our world which are fiat currencies. They have been enormously over-supplied and all financial actors anticipate future over-supply. We look at US equities and think, if we're even able to buy them, which many aren't, they're ridiculously over-valued, can't buy those. We look at banks and think actually 5%, if we can even get that, isn't enough, because we all remember what happened in 2008. We look at this endless profileration of our currency and think, where is a globally liquid, guaranteed minimally inflationary, proven and trusted currency? It's bitcoin, so we buy it. I'm not expecting any greater fool to buy it off me, I just know it will always, in the long run, be worth more than holding fiat currency, until such a time as governments and central banks start to control fiat proliferation. So far that honestly looks like never.

    • @traxe1117

they are ponzis, I totally agree.. still has nothing to do with bitcoin not being a ponzi.. money supply has gone nowhere for 37 months (since oct 2021), we just had a contraction in the money supply only seen in 1929, 1921, 1893, 1870s all were depressions. central banks balance sheet expansion only accounts for a small increase in the m2 money supply, the large majority is created by commercial banks. if our belief is m2 up = inflation then our belief has to be m2 contraction = deflation. deflation kills stocks.. look at japan, nikkei -70% 1990->2001, 2001 they began QE infinity until march 2009, it falls another -50% after already being down -70%.. bank of japan was buying stocks, negative interest rates and yet deflation killed the stock market.

The goal of BTC is to become a global monetary system. What is the value of a global monetary system? I cannot tell you if we can get there but this is what the BTC wants to be. The price will grow until most central banks have it in their vault and international deals can be settled in BTC. At that point the price/value will be more stable and people will actually use it as store of value and not for speculation like now. For buying a house or international payments between countries is the mainlayer fast enough. If you want to buy a coffee, you will use a less secure 2nd layer solution. It is the same as now if you use paypal etc. Obviously the 2nd layer vendors like paypal or visa are not as secure as the mainlayer but see it lile money in your wallet. You also dont need the central bank security for 100 dollar in your wallet. The savings can stay on the main layer. Miner will always conitnue to mine, because the difficulty will adjust and just the unprofitable will disapear.

that's the narrative, but every ponzi has a narrative.. look how it trades, like a highly speculative risk asset & it has never lived through a business cycle, it fell -80% when spx went -25% and nobody lost their jobs, its not a store of value because we cant know that until it lives through the bubble popping and recovers.. its a religion - that's it. if we're gonna talk about the tech there's other cryptos that do the job way better.

And yes, it is a speculative asset, because it is a speculation on this goal. At the point we have achieved the goal, the speculation is over but also the premium and investment risk reward. Regarding the tech, it is notimportant anymore. At the beginning it might be an issue. Now we have a network effect, which cannot be easily changed. It is the same as internet, we might have a better tech but nowone will replace it because everything is running on it. On the other hand you can also argue, that the tech as it is is also not a bug but a feature. You want it to be slow, because of the security. Maybe you have heard about the unsolvable trilemma ( security, speed and decentralization). You can have always only two. BTC chosses security and decentralization. Speed and better tech is for layer 2 if you want. Go make smart contracts, speed or what ever you want there.

I respectfully disagree with your opinion on BTC, though I align with much of what you’ve said otherwise. BTC, like any currency, is a monetary tool. Consider the dollar-what backs it? If your answer is "nothing," that’s incorrect. The dollar is effectively backed by every asset available for purchase with it. Its value lies in its function as the primary currency of trade, a tool in itself. Money enables humans to cooperate on a massive scale, and despite the dollar being one of the most corrupted and flawed forms of currency imaginable, it has been widely accepted. Through this acceptance, dollars have proven more valuable in practice than gold or silver, for a variety of reasons. Similarly, if BTC were to provide the monetary backing to more modern non-governmental forms of money, (which gold could also, but so could platinum) it would be a tool of tremendous value. The idea that there is no value to BTC is to completely miss the very value of the tool we call money.

I also didnt say theres no value, people value it highly - that doesnt make it useful... useful = / = worthless, it is worth a lot - people love buying it and therefore it is a great speculative financial instrument. think about it.. if you buy the top in a stock you get bailed out by future earnings from earnings per share.. dont need a greater fool to buy it, for commodities they are useful, esp precious metals.. gold is used for electronics & jewelry.. silver is used for cars, phones, solar panels, jewelry..

(2020 was not a business cycle, it was a artificial shutdown by the government) btc is not money, the leverage ratio is 10:1, u cant have a asset being money if it has a leverage ratio like that.. also it doesnt matter what u or i think, btc is correlated to the nasdaq - wall st perceives it to be a high risk asset - it could literally fall -99% next recession/depression.

There is a ledger created with every block that shows exactly how much there is and it’s a finite number. Gold is highly manipulated, hard to transfer, and hard to defend. With bitcoin you can transfer it with your phone almost immediately without banks, government, or with armed guards. No one owns bitcoin, it’s literally a self run ledger system. Nothing has gone up more than bitcoin since its inception and it’s in the top 10 of global assets. If you don’t understand why it’s so valuable, than you don’t understand the mentality of how the rich like to store their value. It’s literally one of the safest stores of value in existence. This was great! The real issue and the reason why the markets refuse to accept the writing on the wall is because of what occurred in 2008. Instead of reducing moral hazard by reinstituting Glass-Steagel, they have exponentially increased the moral hazard. The Fed knows this. It's the only reason they raised interest rates so dramatically to begin with. Powell said it when they started raising but no one took notice. He stated they needed more bullets in the gun to fight an economic slowdown. Normally you don't raise interest rates to fight an economic slowdown but rather the opposite. The problem is, partly from the Feds own doing, there's just too much money sloshing around artificially inflating economic growth so getting an accurate account of what's really going on has become very difficult. This is the reason, I believe we're headed for depression. We never really recovered from 2008, they just flooded the system and pretend it's growth. The misallocation of capital over the last 15 years will go down in history as the biggest fraud perpetrated on the American people. FTX was just the tip of the iceberg.

floor price.. lol - market cap is determined by price per unit * units in circulation.. price is determined by the last buyer, when forced selling takes over the price and market cap will be determined by that, if that happens to be -99% lower that's where it goes.. this will be forced capitulation from a economic depression - thats how stock market can go -80% to -90%. here's a thought experiment.. imagine all btc stops being traded and now there's only 1 buyer and 1 seller left, that seller has 1 btc.. that buyer has to buy it for $1m, the transaction happens.. btc now goes from a $2 trillion market cap to $20 trillion from a $1mil buy, however it's totally illiquid. everything is about liquidity, crypto has the most fraud out of any asset class by far because of how overleveraged it is (in 2021 leverage ratio was 10:1).. then we have dec 4th, 2021.. a seller sold 24000 btc for $60000 per unit, (24000x60000=$1.4b sell) this caused the market cap to go -$260b because it triggered cascading liquidations, stop losses & panic which lead to a illiquid move. if you buy the top in btc you have to get bailed out by a bigger fool, in stocks that is not the case, the company generates revenue so the share price goes up.. in commodities its not the case because we need the things they are used for, if btc disappears tomorrow nobody will care besides the hodlers. I understand stating that it is a textbook ponzi (A Ponzi scheme is an investment scam that pays early investors with money taken from later investors to create an illusion of big profits.) hurts the bitcoin religion.. but the truth is, it is a ponzi & that's a fact, not a opinion.. it is also a scam because the definition of a scam would be that the majority dont get what they're paying for, which they won't be when people start to cash out. "but bitcoin has lasted for so long" it has never lived through a business cycle. Enron was founded 1985 & the ponzi got exposed in 2001. 16 years. BTC so far? 16 years. and don't even get me started on the top 0.04% owning 62% of all btc (satoshi/exchanges is 20%) so ur putting all this faith into this tiny minority of hodlers, you have no idea who they are or what their intentions are. pbs.twimg.com/media/GBvV5hZaUAArA7c?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 if you want to call btc a investment, what about this; if I poop on the floor and you bid up the poop to $10b is that now a investment because you bid up literal poop? no, it doesnt generate any revenue and it's not going to be used for anything =PONZI

Every bearish UA-camr only takes into account just PE ratios instead of PEG and also please take into account other factors like percent of population invested in the stock market as opposed to the 1900’s where information about stocks was much more limited.
