I'm just seeing this now 2023... I too have a Yamaha Majesty YP400 and am just starting to have an intermittent no start issue. I can hear the fuel pump start, but nothing.... I try starting it several times and then PRESTO, it starts. I heard you say in this video there was a recall so I looked that up and your correct. Here: static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2007/RCRIT-07V219-2798.pdf - Fuel pump seal... Anyway I've got 42K miles on mine, bought it used 10 years ago and love it! (But might sell it for a KYMCO AK 500)

Check the onboard computer reset connection; located in the battery compartment. It's a white colored connection plug they might be loose.

I had similar problem with my Majesty 400 with less than 4000 miles on the clock. Turned out the starter motor was jammed. Had to service the motor to make it works again

Trust me its starter coil. Not anything else. You can either replace the starter coil or service it with new bushes. Remember, Yamaha majesty yp400 need a very healthy battery to start. It will never start with an unhealthy battery. I own one and its now almost 90000km but performing very good.

Same problem!!! I changed out my fuel relay and it solved the problem. Most would say it’s the starter but it’s the relay or selonoid located in the back of bike by the battery

you have to squeeze the left brake handle and the kickstand must be up

Yesterday I got the same situation. The red cable + battery to the start relay got warm. The first thing you replace was the start engine? Or the battery? Or the star relay next to the battery? Thank you, I know has been a while you did this post. Thanks

Please let me know I have the same freaking problem I bought this bike and the same click this from the solenoid nothing else happened does not start I haven't started at all yeah the people I bought it off them they lie to me they said It start and runs pretty good so I took a chance still trying to figure it out

I did think both plays were the correct call, as Brandon Cooks had possesion as the ball was hitting the ground, while Jesse did not. But common sense is that its a TD. It was a horrible rule. The Jesse James play was the right call, dogshit rule. I am a steeler fan.

Try jumping it from a car battery, if it turns over it’s the battery

Ive had the same problem. I use the tender charger and it started right up. So its the starter the batter needa to be replaced with a new one

Starter is burnt out, replace it, you can double check it's the starter by hitting it, if you hit it it will work, your welcome

They replaced the starter, fuel pump (over $200) and throttle body (over $200) and I finally got it back after 17 months (April 27, 2017 to September 17, 2018). I got the starter off of eBay but the throttle body that I got didn't fix it. So because they took so long I'm stuck with a $48 useless part. I have no idea why I had to pay for a fuel pump when there's a recall on it. I guess it only gets fixed once as it was done back in 2008 way before I got this. And I told them about the fuel pump and the recall when I dropped it off. So my final bill came to over $600 (not including parts I got off of eBay). Not even sure how many times World of Wheels had to call Yamaha to figure out what the problem was. For all I know it could have been just the kick stand not staying up high enough. Never going to that shithole place again.

So Jay did the dealer ever fix the problem and if so what was it . I am having same type of problem.

Im having the same problem. It just started today. I waited 5 mins, and it started. Mine is 07 with on 5k miles! I just bought it 6 months ago and have put on about 1k mi. What should I do? I dont know if the fuel pump was replaced. Ill call the dealer and see if I can get the fuel pump replaced. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Now the dealer is saying it's the throttle/idle control position sensor which aren't sold separately and have to be bought with a complete throttle body/carb assembly. The dealer wants another $300 + labor while used ones on ebay are around $100. And those ones will probably die soon too. I'm convinced the dealer has no idea what they're doing and just guessing at everything.

On the Majesty Forum I've read that the fuel injector diaphragm can get tears or pinholes, causing poor performance/acceleration. I bought a 2007 Yamaha Majesty 400cc scooter 2 months ago, and it does much the same thing. 30 min of mixed hiway/city riding, won't restart after sitting 15-20 minutes, no whine from fuel pump when key turned to "on." Will let you know what I figure out. Best of luck! UPDATE: after checking wiring & the fuel injection system relay, I found they were fine, leaving the fuel pump. I have one on order, and hope that it cures the intermittent "no-start" condition.

The local dealer determined that it was the starter and it was also draining the battery. It starts but they still have it because now it's not accelerating right. Not sure the details because I haven't been with it since I dropped in off on 4-27-2017.

i have a 2008 model and also a new pump . only after 2013 !!! they solved the problems with the pump and ussing the right material for it. when the old rad becoms hot it rise and not rotating anymore. good luck m8 and let us know

Still got the bike? Fuel "pump assembly" is dead. Not staying pressurized. You could get very lucky, there were two manufacturer recalls, one for the fuel pump wiring harness, different years (water ingress into the pump wiring connectors and also the gasket seal for the pump leaked fuel). Now, if any two of these fixes were not made already, you could get the dealership to install a new pump assembly you paid for whilst they are dealing with the recall issues. That way they are already in the bike. Dealer is not going to take financial responsibility for a new pump assembly, but may work with you by installing it whilst the recall fixes are made. If the recall issues have been fixed your gonna have to get into the scooter yourself.See ua-cam.com/video/VQJqNJeCNKY/v-deo.html. Same thing happens to the Yamaha T-Max 500cc scooter. Not affiliated with them but P a r t z i l l a . com is the cheapest replacement fuel pump assembly, they also sell on ebay for a few more dollars FUEL PUMP COMP. Part # 5RU-13907-00-00 $169.84. Or you could buy a used newer year assembly on eBay. If you find it cheaper NEW, let me know where. And I've shopped around! It is NOT just the pump itself, which looks like a miniature submersible well pump. You need complete assembly to be absolutely certain. Dealer will charge $$$ for just dis-assembling plastics off of bike..... just to get at the fuel pump......You can fix this yourself by removing the plastics along with the workshop manual and if you have the tools and watching UA-cam videos. But do not break the plastics by forcing them. Do a UA-cam search for "fuel pump Yamaha T Max" for similar issues. Note these guys have recorded where every screw and nut was removed from so they don't mess up on re-assembly.
