Ah man I am a good ways from you. I'm up in Northeast Texas near Arkansas and oklahoma.

Find your nearest river and see what creeks flow into it. Those creeks should have them in there.

They can get up to a few pounds or more, may have to try some creeks or your local river. Lake spillways are also a good spot to catch these guys. They aren't afraid of current.

I know right! Water was high and rolling and they didnt care at all.

Just fishing a creek that feeds into my local river, shocked me that the sandbass were there but I would bet they are moving up into a lot of the other creeks too.

No scale but was just over 21 inches so i would say close to 6lbs give or take

@ They really don’t where I hunt. I bought a property that hasn’t ever been hunted in 50 years. Not saying the occasional trespasser hasn’t made his way through but they act different than other places I’ve hunted

@ yeah it’s a 80 acre strip of trees about 100 yards wide and almost a mile long and had 300 acres of CRP on one side and 600 acres of CRP grass on the other. It’s tough to hunt cus I only bow hunt but it will be killer once I figure out deer activity
