I did a random stop in on an auto glass installer who was replacing a windshield for a person down the street and I have to say I was really impressed with the tools his company provided him to help him do an amazing job for the client and save his back!

Are the rain sensors glued onto the windscreen or clipped in place? Mine is faulty. I have a replacement one but don't want to just start plulling at the old one and break something. Would I be better off taking it to the local (very good) garage I usually go to and asking them to do it?
You are best to check with your dealer if you are doing it yourself search online for e for you Make and Model. if you go to a local shop, they will do the research to make sure they do it right. Last thing they want to do is create a liability situation where they mess up.

In general the sensor, senses the rain on the windshield and since tint is put on the inside, most jobs will not take off the sensor and just tint around it.
It's a great feeling to know the person that worked on your car windshield replacement took pride in their work. When an auto glass installer is willing to let you watch and in addition, they explain to you what they are doing, you know you are in good hands! Especially when it is 110 degrees outside in the Arizona heat!
