Turbo Slant 6 Failure...but not the Engine

Turbo Slant 6 Failure...but not the Engine
Since the filter is upside down it can't really be pre filled. Do slant people do anything to "pre oil" the engine after an oil change? Thank you
They were still quite common in the U.K. In the late 60s. I remember them as a kid.
lol same thing my jeeps doing after rebuilding 😅😂 Thank you!!
Looks like you lost the air duct did you oil the rockers ( dont look like it by the dust on them
there are four mounting holes on the bulkhead flange what screws did you use to mount those to the firewall, I'm getting ready to drill through and just put bolts all the way through.
@@jeffo881 I believe they were M4’s, but I can say they are metric. Look up the part number for what you purchased as some sites have spec sheets.
@@tingleyent2149 thank for the response, I found them in the PDF for the connector. RECOMMENDED SCREW: 10-14 [M5.28 X 1.81] SINGLE HELIX THREAD. SCREW LENGTH DEFINED BY CUSTOMER. RECOMMENDED TORQUE 20 +5/-0 IN-LB. [2.26 +0.6/-0 NM].
I used these for years, they're excellent for winching.. but definitely not for parking. the reason they were popular was because they were fast, easy to use...but... instead of just using a stick to hold the foot brake... It held brakes on without the brake lights on the entire time.... why is that an issue? no it wasn't electrical load... it was because back then... everything used regular incandescent light bulbs... and they got HOT... hot enough to actually melt light housings & wires when left on for long periods of time. (remember, they used two filaments, a low consumption one for the dim tail lights.. a second thicker one (Brighter) for the brake lights... the Brake light ones were much hotter... no big deal stopping in traffic.. but on long winchouts... you can be there awhile... and repeated use caused melted light housings, melted bulb holders & wiring.. not an issue on modern LED lights.. but the Mico was still a great tool.
I would like to know how to balance a prewar Rolls Royce wheel.
Hi I have a Australian Slant 6 oil pump does not have oil filter attached to pump, just wondering with the rattle noise when you have cam on lath I have a similar noise after engine gets to operating temperature and in gear is your noise normaal?
Do you have a link to the connector? cant seem to find it. Thanks!
I have the same problem with my Dodge Coronet 1959 with the same power steering. I hope this helps!

Very helpful as I'm about to do the king pins on my 56 F100 and am researching the reamer and reaming process. It's hard to shop for a tool I don't know anything about. LOL. Researching to figure out if I buy the tool or find a shop to do the reaming for me. Thank you. Be safe!
My F600 rollback has a single circuit lock but it holds all the wheels because I got single circuit brakes. Works really good too
Yeah, nice to see you again...remeber the white 356 coupe where you did up the front suspension. Excellent explanation. Now I have to laugh because I have one of these trafficators on my 1950 Riley RMA saloon as well which I bought two years ago and am restoring: getting the combo of a flashing blinker to work with the trafficators is not that easy since you don´t want the trafficator waving up and down with the flasher!!! Boy, the things we get ourselves into. Bye the way, my trafficator will flash as well until the switch on the steering wheel cancels after taking the corner!! And I have an over/under solution with two bulbs for the top of the running lights on the front fenders to have a flashing blinker there as well... a nice mod developed by and for the Riley RM Club members by the boffins in the UK club!
Thanks😇
Have a Mico Brake Lock on my '66 Chevy K10 (4wd 1/2 ton) that the old rancher before me put on. It worked great for the 25 years that i've owned the truck (so probably more like 30+), and is the only E brake (stock cable E brake was removed long ago). Alas, it quit working 2yrs ago, so trying to find a replacement controller unit (anyone know of one?). Mine only has an electric switch on the dash, so is different than this model.
Had the same problem with my 64 Chrysler Imperial after a rebuild.Saw your video and thought it was some joke or so.Tried it anyhow and it worked! Thanx man,I'm happy again.
This video answered my exact question in fact. The second I saw that spindle in your vise, I knew it was a 51 Henry J , because that is what is in mine right now. Not a very common item out there in the wild. I'm repairing and machining some parts for my dad's 51.
I have this same issue at the moment but it turns o the right. Its on a 1985 c10. Any advise on where i went wrong?
How does it deactivate???! Without a switch
I'm thinking the Torqstorm supercharger would be less complicated. And I realize this video is 4 years old.
If you don’t mind me asking, what wheel and tire sizes are you running?
I look forward to further videos on this beauty
The early Buick draw thru system is almost a bolt on means to turbo the 225. An early Mercedes t3/t4 is both oil, & water cooled.
Is that a direct ignition setup! ? Part number pls!
Stock has only 35 amps? Wow
Similar models: DAF CF Iveco Eurocargo MAN TGM MB Axor MB Antos Renault Premium Renault D-Truck Scania P-Series KrAZ-5401
Is this the same system that is on a 1964 F350? Is it hydraulic or hoe is it used. There is no parking break pedal anywhere.
Cool 😎
My dad has one on his f750 bucket truck. Used it for probably almost 20years. Not sure how long it was in the truck before he got it.... Now it's stuck on???? Any idea's?
Thats what i wanna know. Same issue
If the little pin that the lever pushes in doesn’t go in far enough it might not release
rode hard and put away wet I see
Does the banks idash support most parameters on the Haltech ecu? I really like the look of the gauge compared to others on the market. Although, Banks being primarily a diesel specialist I am skeptical as how well the gauge works with aftermarket ecus and the Haltech can protocol specifically. Are there parameters that the Haltech has in ESP that the gauge does not support?
Is that a stock oil pump? High Volume/pressure pumps put a lot more stress on those drive gears than they were ever designed to handle. Adding power to any engine beyond it's design parameters will expose the weak points.
You have made it more complicated than necessary then complain that it's complicated. Add fuel injection then complain that you need a special fuel system, etc etc etc. You can have a turbo and keep it simple.
Is the iDash able to provide a Check Engine indication if set by the Haltech? I'm in the process of planning out an Elite 2500 install in my 240Z but the dash in the Z is not suited to adding any lights, plus I'm trying to avoid using up a discrete output just for a light. So, I'd like to be able to display a check engine warning on a CAN gauge like the iDash. I see that the Check Engine Light Output Mode can be set to CAN Output - Switched in the Haltech software. But beyond that, without the iDash, I have no idea if it will work.
Shouldn't a car be purchased to enjoy? Not just to store away to never drive again following the pissing contest auction the person "won" the car at? I have a '77 Mark V. I like that it has gone up in monetary value since I purchased the car in 2006, but that is far removed from my purposes of having the car. I suspect these cars' owners feel similarly.
Dam quit complaining
I have an 88 town car and a 81 rolls royce silver spur. Love the content
I have been driving/racing slants since 1974. I have never had a cam/oil pump gear failure. I run the standard aftermarket replacement oil pump (high volume compared to the stock pump), but not the High volume pump (M-66hv). I turn my 170 engines up to 7,000 rpm, and my 225 engine up to 6,500 rpm. I also run nitrous, and turbos (not both on the same engine). I have not had a oil related engine failure since 1976. PS: I run 10-30 dino oil.
The factory connector was built for a car only expected to last 5-6years before meeting the crusher.
What did Moser say about all of this?
I remember seeing this type of indicator on VWs in the US. I think they were imported but only on the very first VWs in the 50s?
So are you saying don’t run a high volume oil pump? people that I have talked to say that the rear cylinder doesn’t get enough oil and that’s where you spin bearings.
It might seem obvious, but so many poor videos out there that just show someone reaming a big rig setup. This quick one was much for useful for those of us driving the vintage stuff. Thanks for posting!
Turned out great!
Too much boost. Should really max at 10 but honestly 7 is good. Problem solved if the engine is healthy.
How did the Aussie Speed cover fit? I've been chasing leaks on my factory cover and am considering this new one. Thanks!
