I was in high school English class in the morning on an American Army base in Germany when I found out the news

I remember waking up being confused when I went to school the next day in middle school and I ask my friend what was everyone talking about, and he told me they got Bin Laden and I was like no way and then he showed me the news on his ipod and I also remember my science teacher stopping class and playing Obama speech on the raid it's one of those you remember where you kind of moments in history.

i live in germany, this was such an impact on the whole world. when i saw events unfold on 9/11 as a kid, i was really scared, even though NY is very far away from germany. terrorism was defined on september 11th 2001 . i, as a kid, was really scared. bin laden was a scary man, as you'd see the reports about US investigations on who leaded the operations on 9/11. the news would regularly report about al qaida and growing up like this, was insane, i'm sure it was even more to america and also even more parts of the world. 9/11 ultimately showcased the capabilities of terror groups. i was 4 on 9/11 and 14 when bin laden was killed. the head of the group that scared millions of people worldwide were taken down. my anxiety was definetely eased down that day.
