Hobbit Racing
United States
Приєднався 26 жов 2012
We are devoted to Slot Car Racing in the Home Racing World. Hobbit Racing Park is an MDF-routed, 4 lane, 1/32 scale slot car track. Originally designed and crafted by Scott Kulp at War Eagle River, the track has been relocated and Hobbit Racing Park came to life in 2022. We feature 4 independently powered lanes, Professor Motor controllers, each fitted with a track call button, with racing controlled via Trackmate timing system. We race non-magnet cars, across numerous classes ranging from well known modern era (LMP, GT, DTM, DPi) to classics (Group C, Group 5, CanAm, TransAm) to manufacturer-driven/class specific cars that are known to be competitive with each other (NSR GT, RevoSlot GT, NSR Classics). Popular brands raced are NSR, Slot.it, RevoSlot, ThunderSlot, FLY, Racer Sideways, Scalextric.
Is this what it's like in Slot Car Heaven?!
Well folks, I know I typically do the 'how to', at least how I do it, but I'm taking the opportunity to visit some of the recent additions and work that Hobbit Racing will be doing over the next few weeks. Heck, I even drove a brand new car on camera, looking through the lens to drive it! An interesting adventure and just some impromptu fun. I'm so grateful for the slot car people in my life that present me with these opportunities and cars! Thanks for watching!

FLY Porsche 917/10 Jagermeister - Part 2: modeling phase
Переглядів 28814 днів тому
Part 2 gets us knee-deep in the modeling phase, from working on that interior to the underside of the detailed motor and exhaust components. All of this adds up to performance, while maintaining the integrity of the modeling aspect when you view the car, whether at a stand still trackside, or on the move through the corners. So join for me the best parts of how we model this car into a great ru...
FLY Porsche 917/10 Jagermeister - Tuning Part 1: deconstruction phase
Переглядів 1,3 тис.21 день тому
The FLY Porsche 917/10 - This is where the world of modeling meets 1/32 scale slot cars. The FLY slot cars that are out there are such amazingly detailed models. Some require less tuning work than others, and to be fair, there is also nothing wrong with running them 'box stock'. For those of us seeking the best performance, there is more than one way to go about it for the 917/10, but this is a...
Professor Motor Controllers - are they the perfect home racing solution?!
Переглядів 433Місяць тому
In this video, I give you my experiences and preferences in regards to the Professor Motor PMTR211. There are SO many different solutions out there for us to control our slot cars, and deservedly so. In my opinion, in the home racing world, when it comes to keeping things simple, yet providing reasonable advanced controls, these are the answer. Tell me what you think. Here's a link as well. Tha...

In part 2, as we make our way into the guide exchange, the motor and gear exchange and remounting, we encounter some interesting challenges along the way, but nothing we cannot overcome. Remember everyone, mass production of mostly plastic cars. Take your time, see what you have, and you can always make it work. So, we're happy to review some additional steps along the way, whether it be some n...
Scalextric 1970 Camaro: Tony DeLorezno #3 - A Tuning Journey
Переглядів 2,2 тис.Місяць тому
Let's go on a Scalextric tuning journey. We'll create a blank canvas for ourselves by removing much that is stock that is mounted that chassis and under those fenders, and really make some key performance adjustments, while changing the motor to something still within Hobbit Racing Park class rules for Trans Am. Just a beautiful car! A wonderfully balanced quick car as well. I'm adding to the s...

RevoSlot is at it again, giving us so many wonderful choices in the slot car world. Backed by BRM's name, you know you're getting a solid built car. Let's take a look at what we have out of the box from the latest line up, where they gave us six new 'oil can' liveries to chose from under the Marcos model. Group 5 Slot Car Racing: Hobbit Racing Park - Summer Sessions

It's summer race reason. Hobbit Racing Park hosting Group 5. We had a spirited day, talking slot cars, racing slot cars, and occasionally, de-slotting slot cars...LOL. I finally was able to take the 1980 Le Mans beauty of a Beta Montecarlo out there. I was too caught up in being the production crew at times to get what I believe is that car's full potential and it still proved to be an awesome ...

The results are in ...(play suspenseful music)...dun dun - I'm keeping this one...LOL! We've swapped to the Baby King 17K rpm motor for Hobbit Racing Part NSR GT racing and we're in business, as we hoped. We've opened up the pod float a bit, made a few minor adjustments, and started to dial in the sweet spot for controller settings. I hope you found this helpful and thanks for watching! check o...

What a slot car! The star of the show here, and we've done little, to be honest, and I'm tooling around with the 21.4K rpm King EVO motor for a bit before swapping to class compliant Baby King 17K rpm motor for Hobbit Racing Part NSR GT racing. The handling, the looks, she's got it all!! Let's see the sheer speed and torque of that King motor as we cover the basics of this tune. I hope this hel...

Well, this little ripper of a GT3 car was not such a ripper out of the box, but she's a looker, and we start to make some headway in part 1. A nice opportunity to make the rear spoiler attachments as well. After some tweaking, we've got the front end starting to come together. We'll bring it home in part 2 and see what this initial tune brings us, stay tuned... Thanks for watching. Here's a lin...

Join me for a late opening of a Birthday Present. It's an exciting one! Racer Sideways has a nice line up of GT cars that may often be overlooked due to the likes of Slot.it, NSR and others, but if you've got a class that these can fit, or just love the looks of these, even a fantasy livery, they'll turn some great laps with just a bit of work. Let's unbox the 'birthday surprise' and take a qui...

Beautiful track.
Thanks Greg!
Hallo , ich habe auch die beiden Scaleauto Porsche gehen sehr sehr gut . Gruß aus Berlin Enzo 😎
Thanks for the feedback from across the pond! I'm thrilled about the 963!
The Mustang at 6:10 is from the Touring Car Masters series in Australia. Usually just sold in Australia, now hard to get in Australia. So a rarer car now.
Wow. You made it even more exciting for me. Thanks for the info.
Where is the scalextric guide conversion available from? Great video looking to do something similar to a scalextric mustang the white Goodwood notchback.
slotcarcorner.com/collections/1-32-guide-adapters. Thanks for the feedback! Best of luck.
Love the painting stand! May do one myself. Keep it up mate By the way, i dont know if you are aware but for some reason people keep confusing our logos 😂
Thanks man! Hey, great sharing of slot cars for all, your place, or mine. 😅
Good video and some very nice cars 👍
Thanks man! Looking forward to tuning.
Sometimes I feel I put too many projects in front of me regarding my slot car journey. Then I watch a video like this and I remind myself there's no rush and all good things come with time. Your track is off the hook. Thanks for keeping my motivation up, I enjoy your approach to the hobby
Much appreciated. It's these kinds of conversations and comments we all need. It's reciprocal. The fun is there and it's okay if it takes time. I have to remind myself about the journey so many days...even though we can hardly wait for that amazing feeling when we've tuned a good one and we're pulling the trigger!
Happy Saturday...still think you have an amazing track . In my next life I Need more space lol😅😂
What up Dafingers?! Thanks for the compliments.
Very nice 🎉
Thank you good sir! 😁
Man, brother, I do hope you don’t slip with that X-Acto knife. It is cleaner than using a Dremel that leaves melted boogers ,I always wonder why we can’t have the nicer cars without paying $100 a car! There just plastic with a $10-15 motor supposedly ! ,lol, thanks for sharing ,Plus fly has nice looking cars! 😊🙌🏎️🇺🇸
Agreed. And sometimes why it's just as fun to work on these. Great details in all the FLY cars!
The best alternative to working on your own cars. Watch someone else do it. Very fine video.
That's awesome. Thank you!
Great part 2! Thanks for showing the steps and methods to the mods. Looking forward to #3! 🏁
Much appreciated. A careful, methodical process pays off!
🇺🇸👍🏽
🎉
Appreciate it.
🎉
Appreciate it!
Great videos, Bro! appreciate the tips. For those type of cars. Hope you and your family have a great day. Thanks for sharing those tips. I do have quite a few fly cars there and pretty nice cars. Take care Bro!.
Glad you appreciate the effort. Thank you 😊
I thought Ken looked familiar. I raced a few times with a slot group at the oval track in GA he mentions around the 6:50 mark. A fun track to run on. Love the new track Ken.
Awesome! We're all connected in this slot car world. 😁
Cool share😎😎😎
Thanks man! 🤘
Nice
Thanks, I appreciate it.
God bless you for taking the time to detail these rebuilds. Highly detailed and valuable for people like us that rebuild slot cars. My issue is creating one off classless cars, that are not as fast as an NSR but way faster then its originals friends. Thanks as always. Not sure why you only have 500 subs. Remind people to sub.
Great feedback. Agree that classes need to exist to make these purposeful. At Hobbit Racing Park, this modification IS allowed for FLY Classics. Predator 18K (or original 18k) motor is the spec along with silicone. Otherwise, we encourage the enhancements.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to go step by step breaking the car and body down for modifications. Looking forward to the next video and the Dremel work. 👍
Thanks for the feedback. We dremmel onwards!
Omg! I was so nervous when you were taking apart that under body section with the driver 😶🌫️😄 never seen so many sub-pieces in a car before. Thanks for posting the model numbers of the silicone tires too. Great looking car and great video dude.🎉🎉
Thanks. Yup me too. I hadn't taken one apart in some time. Making great progress...more soon
Great job on deconstructing that car brother, very useful information. Happy racing 🏁
Thanks man! These are such fun ones to take through the process.
Great tuning video as usual. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and tuning process. Your attention to details is very helpful. I always look forward to your tuning videos.
Much appreciated! I'm glad to hear these are helpful
That’s great thanks for sharing. I was kind of looking for a controller just like you explained. Where would you get these? Thanks for sharing.
Glad to hear this was helpful. Link is in the description. Thanks
Epic track 👍
Thanks for watching. Now that the storm has passed we sure hope to get some more racing in there
Thanks for sharing your experience. Got some good tips out of it😊
Thank you. Glad you found it helpful. Good to hear from you as always!
Those are great controllers as first aftermarket ones!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Indeed my friend. I even have a travel one, in addition to the 4 on the track.
@@hobbitracing I still have my first Prof. Motor with a full throttle relais that I built in aftermarket!
Good to see you back at Hobbiton. Nice info on the controller. We’re not up for one just yet but it’ll probably be our goto now.👀👀👍👍
Thanks. Making our way...almost 2 trees bucked and stacked or some burned. A few more to go, but so thankful nothing landed on anything valuable and we're all safe! Glad you found the content helpful.
Nice Slotcar , Enzo from Berlin Germany 👍🏻😎
Thanks man! I definitely can say I'm in the market for more Sideways GT3 cars
What kind of track do you need to have? Can you use an AFX or auto world? I’m sorry I’m new to this.
No worries. Sounds like you're asking about HO scale track. This is 1/32 scale and I run on wood-routed, but for the beginner there is Carrera, Policar and Scalextric tracks that are quite reliable and can be bought in starter sets. They typically can be used in analog setting and digital setting (lane switching, forced pitstops, etc). Search for those slot car track sets if you're searching for a good starter set and wanting to get into the thrill of 1/32 scale. Wood is my favorite and with the right skill, they can be made well, however I'd recommend to start with a plastic set.
@@hobbitracing thank you brother. I love this. I remember my neighbor had one, but my father cannot afford to buy at the moment now. Is it an adult trying to buy a track
Awesome build, can you pin where to find those rim and tires?
Thanks, I really appreciate it. More Trans Am cars in the works. Please revisit the description, I've added more links.
That purple gear is binware!
Went away from that 29t after that first track session. Happy back at 28t, the gear that came with! Thanks for the feedback
Sweet car, incredible layout my friend, keep ‘em coming😎😎😎
Yes sir! Indeed. Thanks for the feedback.
Great tutorial, never give up when you're not happy with the result!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Thanks as always!
We’re running Scalextric track with a plethora of Scalextric cars. Love your content very informative m8.👍Subed you from down under
Much appreciated!
I'm guessing "Gandalf" is wanting a replacement front tooth for Christmas. Nice looking car that would definitely benefit from a chassis replacement and new wheel/tyre combination.
That's awesome Mark! Good eyes. You've no idea...we finally had it lasered and connected to her braces. Gandalf the J probably wants another NSR tbh, but I'm showing the kids the fun in the other manufacturers in our wonderful hobby. Thanks for the feedback!
Great stuff! I was gonna build a chassis to go with a 1970 Camaro, this has got me thinking now. Oh the options, thank you! 🫡
Absolutely. The possibilities are there. I look at cars like these, and some FLY models, where you can really 'clean up' the out of the box stuff and then get great results from the tuning mods. Thanks
CG Slots just released a 3D printed chassis kit for this car… I think. Adds a motorpod.. thanks for sharing Tony!
That would be an interesting thing to play with. Thanks for the feedback Marty!
Thanks for sharing,Scalextric has a lot more American muscle cars than Carrera,Turned out nice ,drifts nice, sweet car.👍🏎️🏎️🏎️😊
Agreed. They are all sweet looking, tune up pretty nice. Thanks
What a beautiful car, epic muscle 🎉🎉🎉, nice work 😎😎😎
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it.
Tony, this track looks amazing! Thanks for the tour! Also, thanks for the shoutout.. coffee! Let’s go! 😂
Thanks Marty. It is. We are getting ready next to run the HRW Grp 2 RevoSlot proxy here in week. Footage coming! Coffee...well, I may switch back to it..this early bird drink is nuts.
@@hobbitracing I’m racing Saturday at a new tracks.. looking forward to shooting some footage.
Really cool buddy, just subbed you, your vid came and it’s a cool track 😎😎😎
Thanks for the feedback and the support!
Subbed
Thanks. Hope to have you come by
What are the dimensions of the track and footprint? Beautiful track!
I believe it's about 8x16, maybe 18ft max. Check about halfway thru and Ken describes length of each lane. Thanks!
Very cool! 😁👍
Thanks Carey!
Really nice wood routed track👍 one day I’d like to build one but for now it’s plastic track 🏁
Thanks for the feedback.. Pros and cons to it all, and nothing wrong with plastic, of course
