I agree for all but season 13. I’m on my third rewatch right now and the dip in quality from 12 is jarring and it really feels like they’re unsure what to do with the old characters they have left and are still trying to figure out a lot of the newer ones

loved anya but hated how she ended up in the army. she literally falls for military propaganda while at her lowest (coked up in a club bathroom with no prospects) and just decides she’s going to join. it was silly

i am a ride or die for clare i’m so sorry, i love her. her hair and outfits were awful, after the original cast left, all of the characters dressed really funny imo (maybe because they weren’t dressing themselves anymore?) and they all seemed behind the times or too mature, but i don’t blame her for this. i think she is so entertaining

Paige and Alex were always doomed because they never had Paige come to terms with her identity which was very disappointing. In one of pages final episodes she says she doesn’t identify as bi because Alex is the only girl she’s ever liked. They could’ve gone far but the writers were AWFUL at writing bisexual characters.

zig and maya were actually the reason i watched degrassi in the first place! i randomly came across and edit of them and it inspired me to watch. they go through so much together. he waits for her until she’s ready after cam. she helps him when he’s homeless. they have so. much. chemistry. i also love them both individually. i like jt and liberty when they first get together when they’re younger but hate the way her pregnancy is handled and it just ruins them for me. i don’t like miles and tristan mostly because i dislike them both individually so putting them together is my nightmare. jenna and connor, i love love love. alli and dallas, i love love love. i find this video so interesting because the later seasons (after the entire original cast has gone) are often slated by fans as not being as good, but as you said the show hinges on the relationships between the characters, and per your list the majority of the best couples develop in these later seasons

i’m sorry but i actually really liked clare and jake. after all the eli chaos (not necessarily his fault but eli created a lot of drama and fear in clares life) she just seemed so much calmer and more herself with him. they had fun together. they don’t last very long after their parents get married anyway, so i honestly can forgive that. JOHNNY AND ALI OMG, HATED THEM. he was awful with her, sending those pictures around was unforgivable and they made me so uncomfortable

gonna have to disagree woth the emma ED thing, they brought it up a lot, the most significant time i can think of is when snake was having second thoughts about going back to degrassi (after darcy accused him) & spike said multiple times his behavior is unacceptable because she didnt want him to make emma feel like shes losing control (in reference to her ED) i just dont think it was brought up very specifically but it was always a thing with her personality

I really loved seasons 3, 4, 10 12. 12 was my absolute favorite. 5,6,7,8 were my least favorite.

sean and ellie made so much more sense than him and emma. the breakfast club episode where they first bonded is one of my favorites for many reasons but especially because of this. they both came from broken homes and understood each other.. degrassi has a good couple end game problem 😭 as in..... they k-lled countless of amazing couples for no reason lol

maya's seasons long storyline of her dealing with trauma and mental health is in my opinion, the best ever done in degrassi. if maya had been a guy, he'd be treated like a saint and degrassi royalty i just know it

I hate Eli and Clare so much. Hate them. One of the worst relationships on the show. I loved Clare and Drew. I would have preferred Drew and Bianca staying together (one of my favorite couples on the show) but since that didn't happen I was down for Clare and Drew. It's one of the best relationships each of them had.
