RIP Lola: April 10, 2000 - April 12, 2024
RIP Lola: April 10, 2000 - April 12, 2024
Her name was Lola. She was not our showgirl, but she was our “Golden Girl” (in more ways than one)! 24 years go by in a flash but we were only gifted with her last 9. We weren’t there for her first breath and missed her youth and glory, but we were there for the autumn of her life (and ours) and there for her last breath. We gave her a soft place to be and she filled our hearts with something we didn’t know we were lacking. She gave the best kisses - to everyone!
When we purchased her, they used one word to describe her - quirky. She was master of quirky! Lola taught us many lessons, and most of them were not in the saddle. Anyone who has had the privilege of loving and caring for a senior horse (or dog) knows that every day is a gift. It is also a labor of love. And we loved her deeply. We cherish the memories of every day we had with her and are so grateful to her for opening the door to the joys and heartache of the horse world to us.
“Somewhere … in time’s own space,
there must be some sweet, pastured place
where creeks sing on,
and tall trees grow,
some paradise where horses go,
for by the love that guides my pen,
I know great horses live again.”
(Stanley Harrison)
“A hundred years or a hundred days
A hundred times no difference babe
Promise you I’d want more
Don’t the question beg an answer
Don’t the song beg a dancer
Don’t you dare tell me that there
Ain’t more to this
And don’t our tears beg for laughter
I promised I’d love you forever
So don’t you dare
Tell me that there
Ain’t more to this.
There’s more to this!”
(Marc Scibilia)
Run free beautiful Lola! Enjoy those heavenly pastures. We fully intend to see you stretching your head through the rails at Heaven’s gate and booping us with your nose!

Nala - Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Goodbye sweetest Nala. You brought so much joy to so many and were loved so deeply that the heartache and loss is shattering, ecliptic! “We should be together” … and will be again … “Somewhere over the rainbow!” 💔😭🐴 My greatest thanks to my classroom TA Payton Williams for the plaque you made for me about Nala (at end of video). It is one of the best gifts I have ever received!

My beautiful, sweet heart-dog, Chelsea’s Lady Bella, Luna, unexpectedly passed away November 15, 2022. She lived a glorious and wonderful life during her 12 1/2 years. Her passing has left a void that will not soon be filled. Run free in my little Bellaboo! I know you will be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge! We will chase stars together! Until then, fill my dreams with your roos and your...

Dewalt 20V vs Milwaukee 12V power tools for trimming horses’ hooves
Переглядів 11 тис.3 роки тому
I love using my Dewalt 20 V brushless paddle switch angle grinder and 20 V cut out tool to trim horses feet, particularly when they are rockhard. These tools really get the job done. They are powerful and reliable. They are also heavy, somewhat difficult to manage, especially if you have small hands, and noisy. Recently I came across the Milwaukee 12 V 2” right angle and straight die grinder. I...

    Thank you ! Ordered this from your information. And used for first time this morning. And wow ! LOVE it ! Horse acted better than usual - prob cause i was so much faster and no drag from rasp. And I did much better job. Haven’t used the straight one yet as I’m waiting on the burr. What pad do you use for the angle grinder ? I had to buy ryobi variety pack. Would rather find w/ same grit. Thank you !

    Thank you. I bought two angle grinders and they were both too heavy for me. I am 69 and don’t have the muscle strength I used to have so I went ahead and ordered this small angle grinder. I have been trimming my two horses for four years now. So I have watched all your videos on trimming with an angle grinder. Will probably for now just stick with my hoof knife for the bars. Thank you so much much for this great information on this video. It really helped me solve my problems. Many blessing for your great video. PS what is the beginner recommented tool for the bars if I go the route later. Baby steps here. 😊

    Thank you for making this video. I am going to go to my local Cycle Gear in Lake Forest to go order the Puig Windshield today. (I have Puig windshields on two of my other motorcycles and the quality is very nice. It will go well on my PCX. Btw, have you noticed any difference in your MPG? I am averaging about 98 mpg but hope it will go up. If nothing else, I know it will be beneficial for my cold morning commutes. Ride safe.

    • @craigmorley7941
      @craigmorley7941 10 місяців тому

      Glad it was helpful! My MPG decreased one to 2 miles per gallon which is not really significant but expected. You are increasing resistance with a larger windscreen. You must drive much more conservatively than me and for more highway miles. I drive only city with a lot of fast starts and I only get between 80 and 86 miles per gallon. Lucky you!

    • @morgantalbert7103
      @morgantalbert7103 10 місяців тому

      You can't complain about your mpgs. These are great scooters. What other modifications have you done or are planning on doing? Btw, to increase my mpg I have a tendency to tap my skill switch to off at red lights. I think it may help. In the European market their PCX's do this automatically at idle to conserve fuel. I do the same thing on my Grom and I can get around 155 consistently. Both motorcycles have their own perks. But their mpg is one of my favorite advantages compared to other motorcycles and cars.

    • @craigmorley7941
      @craigmorley7941 Рік тому

      honestly, it is not a big deal. You do not have to lock your ignition when you stop. You can just remove the key. However, if you are looking to upgrade I would sincerely recommend the 2025 ADV 160 now that it has the same engine as the PCX. You will pay $300 more but get much better shocks and an adjustable windscreen. I would have bought it if it had been available with the same engine when I bought my PCX. Good luck!

    That wind screen looks horrible, it's way too large for this scooter. Should of just kept the original, top speed is around 70mph but realistically it toos out around 65 or 67 so honestly it's unnecessary to even upgrade

    It's not legal for highway use, it's 157cc and tires aren't regulation size for highway. Where I live, the highway speed is 70 and this scooter barely hits 65mph. I had a 2023 PCX 150, put 1,200 miles on it and sold it for more than what I paid lol 😆. Currently waiting to get 2023 ADV 160 in July

    I own a 2022 Honda ADV 150 and find it more than satisfying. Bought new in 2021 before New PCX came out. I currently have about 4,000 miles on my scooter. My plus is the way it pulls up hills so easily gaining speed as you climb. The ADV windshield is also worthless and just for looks.👍

    I have this same 2022 PCX and immediately purchased the Touring windshield from National Cycle, which is the shortest of the 3 they sell and I feel it’s perfect, because I can look over it (I’m 6’ 3”) and I wear a full face helmet. There’s a video showing how to remove the existing windshield that is very helpful in pulling down on the white trim piece. But remember this, when you have the windshield off, drill a hole into the compartment that has the charging port and then route a 3’ charging cable through there so you can mount your phone on the handlebar and use it as your gps while it’s charging. I got it up to 69 mph on the freeway.
