I’m going to tell a personal story about how, sometimes, our favorite memories get tangled up in the more painful parts of life. Let me know what you think, and if you liked it, you can help this new channel out by simply liking, sharing, and subscribing.

What’s the point of human existence? Some scholars say that everything motivating us boils down to four drives: to learn, defend, acquire, and bond. In the aughts, American Girl seemed to understand these drives more than anyone. If you were young in the early 2000s, maybe you recall those years as a blur of patriotism, fear, grief, and confusion. I do. And American Girl felt like a guiding lig...

Who else played #neopets? In today’s video essay, we talk about the top ten life lessons it taught us, as I build a new account (complete with its own Wocky) and reminisce over the cringe of my old one (tbf, we were all a little cringe in 2004…plus I was eleven). Anyway, we got pretty smart from this game, didn’t we? If you fell for the survey scam once, you weren’t going to do that ever again....
