I can’t believe I found this gem abandoned since 1983 what a find I love random finds in the forest apparently an old woman lived here for years in the forest away from people and the modern world ,I felt the old energy here like I was being watched hope you all enjoy this little explorer as much as I did .

Alright there Jezz, I really enjoyed that end-to-end. A bugger about your ankle/foot. These things take a second eh? Love Tintern whenever down that way - yeah oldy worldy what with the Abbey too. That cottage was run down the last time I was there - good to see it redone. The bridge opposite does indeed have a good view. I don't blame you for moving to another sport early morning - lovely apart from the mess. Nice video. I like to see someone elses perspective on what I consider to be my own home turf. I worked at The Anchor in my teens and the Beaufort (sadly closed) then later The George (Wild Hare) in my 20's. My childhood home was Brockweir and the two villages have many connections.

I know it’s an individual thing regarding the weight of tents, and where people want to camp. I’d rather have an extra kilo of tent weight, and be safe and warm. You can always lose a kilo or 2 with your cooking system, beer or other things we take that aren’t really a necessity. I used to take 2 or 3 cooking systems, but obviously only take one now. Though I do take a spare alcohol burner. We can all lose pack weight if needed.

No problem , research the history of Trellech , once the biggest city in Wales . There are two archeological digs taken place there.

This place was used in the TV series " Tales from the Green Valley" . I know where it is but as yet I haven't been there.

Looks like an early Caravan Park style of van, an ideal retreat spot.
Yes you may be correct there’s a water fall to the left of it would of been a brilliant place to escape to to relax
@@Jez-explores-outdoors An old Railway Carriage was another popular living unit, used to see them quite often.
These type of caravans must have been the go to caravan for temp accommodation in the forest of Dean, iv seen probably 20 total dotted around here and there over the years

Reminds me of the Dorrington's cottage on the east side of the river Wye between Llandogo and Brockweir? But I'm sure Dorrington's had metal shutters out on it so nobody could get in. I used to play in it as a child, it had been abandoned back then but was still open without shutters 😁
