Is that who I think it is at 0:39? 🌊
That pop up at 0:06 was perfect. I wish I could be that smooth and flexible. Time to start doing yoga.
Thank you for this video
You are such a great teacher! Everything become so much clearer after your explanation, gonna try it out soon!
Thanks mate!
What time of year was this?
Tried duck diving and never managed to master it. Now I just ditch the board and swim down and under. Works every time.
@@retribution999 I hope that board doesn’t hit someone and that your leash never snaps
Glad i found this. I just started riding a mid length (one session) after only riding short boards. Gonna try this technique.
this guy weighs what 120lbs wet ill bet that board weighs more than he dose weres the 300lb guys hanging 10 that would be something to see i would watch that video
1. strangest comment we've ever received, congrats. 2. which guy? Tommy? He wishes haha 3. if this comment is sincere you could go and check out Justin Quintal and JJ Wessels for examples of bigger guys noseriding :)
can someone help me.......... is it possible to nose ride epoxy boards?
Absolutely! Most of the videos of coach Tommy he is riding epoxy
I know it's an old video, but it's the best one I've found on this. 🍻
This is hands down the best tutorial for duck diving longboards! I grew up on shortboards and starting longboarding about five years ago. My two longboards are a 9' 1" HIHP and an 8' Butterknife. Obviously, the Butterknife is easy to perform this technique but does allow practice for the HIHP.
Now try bigger waves. 😉
How does an English man become a surf instructor in coasta rica
I moved here 8yrs ago, started Ten Toes a little over 3yrs ago Previously coached in Cornwall, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Australia
@@TenToesSurf amazing
Hi mate, quick question, what should she have done instead @10:45?
moved forwards through the fast part of the wave and stepped back to cutback at the soft part of the wave
Great video! Thanks team 🥰
Luca!
Great video. 😀
I just bail out and casually paddle out between sets. Save your energy for catching more waves.
That's awesome! Be careful and considerate of other surfers :)
So once your in the pocket, locked in, you can start to cross step. At first it will feel like the board could fall, right? Just wondering what I should looking out for when getting ready
Yes! Then keep weight on the inside rail as you slowly move forward. Don’t try and get to the nose straight away, practice getting one or two steps in then moving back first
@@TenToesSurf Thanks dude. Glad I’m starting on the right step 😂
Thanks! Just started riding longboard this season and enjoying the heck out of it. Your vids help. Had a great day out there today. :)
Love the content. I constantly feel stuck when moving from the first to steps to the second two. Any tips or drills to help with this. Much appreciated
This was great! Thanks!!
You’re very welcome :)
Legend! Been waiting for more 🔥
Thanks for these tips 🤙

OMG! I'll try today in our crappy sea in Tuscany... today is knee high to waist but I'll try as well.. thanks for the tips!
I would like to go do something just like this. So nice! Thank you for presenting this great video!
Grab a crew of friends and let us know when, we'd love to host you!
Ten!yahoo!yo udid super upload. adios. ;)
Super informative, can't wait to try some of these next time I go out.
May I know if this skill is also available for softop like 8’ foamie
If you work your way up to it, yes. Learn in a pool with a shortboard and then the white water, then a 7'0 and then your 8'0 :)
wonder if we are cross stepping on backside, should we put pressure on heel or toe?
On your heels, there is another video in this playlist that talks you through how :)
@@TenToesSurf Thank you!
Brilliant tutorial. Thank you!
Sweet bro.. some good moves and tips
Does this work for much larger waves? Trying to paddle out on a board that is 7 and half feet in 6 to 8 foot waves, but getting pushed back too much.
once waves get to 8ft I usually bring out a different board other than a longboard. For me, I can duckdive my 7'6 in up to triple overhead
@@TenToesSurf Ok cool, thanks for the response. I gotta work on my duckdive technique.
Thank you very much for the detailed and simple explaining contents
Great insights!
This is a cj sprout 9.2? Thanks
9'6 Sprout
Is that a CJ Nelson’s longboard? If so, what do you think of it and what is the length
9'6 Sprout It's great in smaller conditions for learning to noseride (once you're in the pocket) Little harder to manoeuvre and set up the noserides than other longboards but very stable once in trim
This a s sprout 9.2? Thanks
9'6 Sprout
So helpful, fuck
This is amazing!
Love this video! I'm at the point where I could cross step but not comfortable/skilled to stay in the critical part of the wave, and the only way for me to check was look behind me to see where the white water is (which is awkward and often by the time i checked it's already too late), so the feathering visual cue is definitely helpful
Good job bro!
Do you prefer a concave on the nose or flat bottom? What’s the difference in your opinion?
I prefer flat through the middle, kick in the tail, and scoop under the nose. Best example of all of those features exaggerated is The Cherry Picker by Ben Skinner. Flat through the middle is great for speed both paddling and trimming. Kick in the tail means if you find that tail with your weight you can lift the rail out of the water more and turn sharper. Scoop under the nose gives added lift as the water travels faster through that channel. There are a lot of way better surfers than me that prefer different shapes.
Brilliant 😃💛
Sound is super low, mate
Watching someone surf is not the same as doing it yourself.
Awesome video! 🏄🏼♂️🤙
Absolute best explanation. You should be a teacher! Thank you
Buena edición y fotografía, les quedó excelente ✌🏼
