I love that quote by Derek Reese where he says to Private Pyle: "The game Pyle...the game is played with your buddy's life. With the life of your squad, your platoon. The game is played by you! On behalf of the whole damn human race!" I actually think that was the greatest line of the entire series. It epitomizes the theme of terminator, the life and death struggle between man and machine. Personally I think that quote and soundbite should have been used in the opening credits for a new terminator tv series based in the future. Perhaps the animated version Netflix is apparently working on. And if they don't end up using it, I'm almost tempted myself to risk copy-rite infringement and rip off part of that brilliant quote and in my own science fiction novel I'm working on. It's that good.

How did all these games share basically the same tune? Was it possible that the developers were friends? Partners? Or shared the same relationship with the original composer?

Incredibly late to all this but its a sample by an artist named David Torn, it is called "Burble and Pine". I had no idea it was in monster hunter too :D

Poorly edited, but gotta love that T2 soundtrack with the cutscenes. The scenes of gameplay are too reminding that it is a game, simply because of the finicky framerate. Render the gameplay scenes at 24 frames next time and then edit them in.

Gotta say, Motor Species works pretty well with the nighttime tracks - especially Edge of the Earth and Brightest Nite, my "home tracks" since I'm a New Yorker.

Now you see this is the soundtrack meant for the movies, if Paul Anderson hadn't taken the helm turning the whole saga into a load of nonsensical b.s, forcing capcom to go cgi just to keep it original and canon, then George. A. Romero could have given us a fucking masterpiece.

@SONATAARCTICA your not alone resident evil 2 & 3 made my childhood gaming my all time favorite game series, beats out legend of zelda series for me the people i know who played any resident evil don't even care about the story or know how sad it is of what happened the story is so intoxicating i love it so much ive cried countless times while playing 2 & 3

@SONATAARCTICA I recorded almost all of these and play them as background music when I'm at home....I know what you mean..I get this almost empty longing feeling when I hear it ..there is nothing like that first time through.......they need to make another resident evil game..a real one fixed cameras and all....with systems now it would look amazing!!
