New Sig P365 Build Overview
Переглядів 3425 місяців тому
I decided on building a new P365 in the style of the Glock 43X. Since there are many different companies making aftermarket parts for these handguns, it was difficult on settling on just one build. The Wilson Combat module was my choice for this as I did love the feel, but went with the Icarus Precision Air module for my other build. Other parts included in this build are the Shalotek Fury slid...

    Thanks for this. Especially comparing it to the total failure of a product from Wilson Combat. And this is coming from someone who owns every single WC grip module, save that one that I returned to Optics Planet. I hope they do a version with the PIC rail.

    You say that accessories won't fit on the WIlson, and yet the only light worth considering right now does fit, the TL7 sub and the new more powerful TLR7 Sub HLX. The Surefire option should fit too, but that thing is insanely expensive, and underpowered compared to the Streamlight option. I do appreciate the information on the Tyrant designs grip module though. I wish you had gone a little more into depth on the texture. The Wilson grips have a really nice balance for carry, they don't catch your shirt with the texture on the sides, but they have just enough bite to keep your hand planted, and they have a lot of bite in the front and back.

      @@Osprey1994 Thanks for the comment. The Wilson Combat Short grip also has a shorter rail, so some accessories may not fit accordingly. I mainly switched to this grip because of this. The Tactical Development Pro Ledge is a good example of this. I ordered the part not realizing the rail on the Wilson was too short, so I couldn’t use it. As for the texture, it’s not very aggressive, but not as smooth as that Wilson. I like both, but already have the full rail Wilson on my other build.

    Urchased the Icarus macro grip. I have xxl hands. The bigger undercut is great! Other grips don't accommodate my finger. Bump on the back helps push my hand up to the beavertail. ( WC grip on my Xl doesn't do that. Still has movement.) The gas pedal on weak side is great. Only con so far, my grip has the dual pedals. The pedal on my strong side interferes with my trigger finger because of the high grip.

    • @MorbisDraconis

      It is a very comfortable grip. I really like the thinner grips on these micro 9’s. On the contrary, the Wilson Combat has that palm swell on it that brings it to another level. Good thing about the Icarus polymer is you can always remove the gas pedal that is interfering with your grip.

    • @MorbisDraconis
      @MorbisDraconis 9 місяців тому

      Like the “AIR” name suggests, it feels very light. It feels good in the hand, but the Wilson feels heftier and fills my hand well with the palm swells. I prefer the Wilson in feel, but prefer the Icarus with the ergonomics. The Icarus isn’t built cheap, but it feels light and thin in the hand. Compared to what it costs to customize a standard P365 grip module, $130 for a new design isn’t a bad price to try for yourself.

      I got the Icarus Precision airpolymer (xmacro), and after about 500 rounds, I can't really say I am a fan. The biggest thing I disliked is the beavertail. I have had multiple people try drawing with it vs the standard grip. Most have commented on the fact that the regular OEM grip is easier to draw. For some reason, the air polymers beavertail likes to get in the way. The other thing I dislike it the abrupt angles on the magwell. It makes concealing a little more of a pain, plus holster availability is mehh. I'll note that the OEM polymer is stiffer than the Airpolymer.

      Thanks for the comment. That’s the best part about this platform. You can change everything to your liking. I am a big fan of the thinner grips, but also like the feel of the Wilson. I will be building an Sig “43X” relatively soon with the Wilson Combat. Now that you mention it, the beaver tail is noticeably angled lower than the Wilson. I can see where than can be a problem for some.

    The Mischief Machine module is a fantastic upgrade ! Coming from a background of building & shooting Colt 1911's for many years the MM module [for me] is like coming home [so to speak] it's very much like a 1911 in grip angle an control placement ! I added the Armory Craft extended safety lever to my MM grip an viola I have a tool that required very little getting used to because my muscle memory is already tuned to this set up , so in training it didn't take me long to become proficient /i didn't have to relearn much if anything ! The modularity of the P356 platform is awesome ! New sub...great video/content !

      I have high praise for the Commander as well. I recently decided to let it go for something else. What I noticed when shooting is that the beveled end on the beaver tail was digging into the webbing of my hand and was uncomfortable to shoot. The G10 panels were also aggressive on my skin when carrying, which I could have alleviated with new panels, but had to shell out around $60-$80 for. Lastly, I just felt I had to ditch the extra weight as it was my ccw. It is a fine module indeed, but not for me unfortunately. Thank you for the comment.

      @@MorbisDraconis That's kinda the same conclusion with mine. I had carried a MM Commander for my XMacro and loved it. Felt and carry well. The weight was noticeable for sure, but I lived with it for a good year or so. Changed the panels to the rosewood ones and felt and looked great. Bit aggressive but felt fine. I did notice the slide had a bit more resistance and the trigger definitely had a little more creep on it. Still have it, but I may let it go too since I switch back to the OEM frame and it just felt perfect and shot pretty confidently with it especially rapid shooting drills from concealed.

      @@stevenbui8043 I think that these aluminum grip modules are a little overrated sometimes with the appeal being the material used. The Wilson Combat grip module feels great in the hand and is a fraction of the price. I was so focused on the MM at the time, and when I finally got it I just wanted to move onto something else. A lot of people shoot guns over and over and don’t clean them, or have a pro clean them. If a Ruger SP101 or GP100 has a minor issue like that it’s dirty in cylinder latch hole and underneath the star ejector because those guns are the tanks of revolvers.

    • @MorbisDraconis
      @MorbisDraconis Рік тому

      I definitely don’t think that’s the issue. I shot it twice before noticing and only put 50 rounds through both times. I clean my guns after every shoot. The gun was brand new with only 100 rounds through it. It’s only a minor issue in the long run and will only happen with that particular speed loader. I’ve had the gun for 10 years now and still runs great.

  • @ArizonaGunMan
    @ArizonaGunMan Рік тому

    I had my speed loaders for so long they start to go bad they wont release the bullets as easy itll take a little extra force pushing down on the loader to let the rounds out that could be why your having to push it so hard to get the bullets out while also pushing your cylinder forward

    • @MorbisDraconis
      @MorbisDraconis 2 роки тому

      Stock Glocks in general are reliable handguns that never require modification. It’s going to come down the preference. Sometimes changing out factory parts can lead to reliability issues. Really depends on your preference for ergonomics like an extended mag release or extended slide stop. You can never go wrong with a good set of sights. The oem barrel I would never change out unless I’ve put more than the life expectancy of rounds through it. If you want to just change out the barrel you’d be fine with everything else stock if that’s your preference.

    Your cylinder crane pivot pin is binding in the frame or your gun is just dirty. Clean debris from the pin bore or locate the burr and polish it off so the pin is free to slide in and out of the bore. The cylinder assembly is spring loaded and should snap back by itself to a position that it will clear the barrel forcing cone when you close the crane.
