Interesting comparision.Good presentation.Tks. Leased my '24 ID-4 Standard 02Aug tks to WA state EV rebate of 9000$ and Fed EV rebate of 7500$. No brainer. My first experience with EV.Love at first drive. Rick/79/Seattle
No brainer indeed! I wished we had leased ours as the depreciation has been incredible and is the worst thing about the car. Thanks for watching.
Sadly, since Elon Musk has publically declared loyalty to Donald Trump (the felon, convicted '34' times over and awaits sentencing in Nov 24), that many colleagues have stated they have become quite alarmed, and stated they have moved away from considering / procuring these types of products..., which is not the 'be all' and 'end all', but clearly demonstrates that actions have consequences...
100% agree.
You’re not wrong, that’s for sure. Thanks for watching.
One thing it does say about FSD while not holding the wheel is it needs to see your eyes and sunglasses supposedly won't work, although others I've talked to say it does. The sunglasses is probably why for sure.
I just used sunglasses on my drive into work this afternoon and it worked perfectly. I don’t think I had to touch the wheel once.
Since the latest update where you don't have to hold the steering wheel, I've experienced two instances where the car thought it saw something then alarmed, braked hard and switched lanes! Luckily it was at 50 mph or so and I could catch it before it move totally into the other lane. I want double pull FSD back too! They turned off the option for now.
At least we still have stalks!
I don’t like the auto lane changes, I want to initiate those
It can get annoying for sure. Thanks for watching.
I agree and they should at least leave it as an option to let it be totally auto or driver initiated. I also don't like the fact that they took away the option for double pull FSD for now. I like the double pull and having the single pull for traffic aware cruise that's built on the FSD package.
Fast teslas and fast sexbots…. I like the sound of that.
Tesla’s have the personality of a hospital bed, attached to a monitor.
Lol, you're not wrong! Thanks for watching!
picked the 2RS verison and the sound was an issue at default but raising the bass mids and terrible, it sounds 100% better
Congrats on the new ride! That’s good to know. The default setting is pretty terrible.
I’ve had my Equinox 2RS for about a month and love it. To be honest I have not noticed the radio sound being bad? Maybe i have bad hearing :)
Honestly, maybe it’s my hearing! The Equinox EV is a nice car, I’m glad you like it. Thanks for watching.
I am surprised that the Blazer really isn't any bigger interior space. A huge hood area, but no frunk, no more space in the truck. I think the Blazer looks nice to look at, but very poor packaging and poor use of the space. The Ultium charging issues is a problem for those of us who do road trips. Finally heat pumps and preconditioning are welcome. No Android Auto or Car Play is not good. The GM software is not very good yet. Thanks for the look around these two. I am hoping they get their software and charging mess fixed. I am watching the Silverado.
I agree. I had pretty low expectations, to be honest. I’d like to get some time In the Silverado too. I suspect it would be better since trucks are GM’s bread and butter. The range with the massive battery is great. Thanks for watching.
My Dual motor Tesla can do 0-100 in 4.6 sec. What about ID4?😁
The 2024 AWD ID.4 will go 0-60 in 4.9 seconds according to Car and Driver testing.
VW's TA is underrated, they have been doing driver asisst systems since Audi A8 D3 from 2003 and it shows.
I completely agree with you.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Being vision only is the worst idea that Tesla could have implemented. Lidar wasnt hurting anybody. The opposite, in fact.
Tesla used radar, but your point still stands.
Tesla needs to get rid of Elon
I completely agree.
@@gilberthaynes1523 Elon is the man. If it wasn’t for Elon the world would have no Tesla or SpaceX.
id4 wins!
Thanks for watching.
does the recall affect the 2024 models?
I wouldn’t think so.
Your comparsion could be between id4 with lower and higher package. Autopilot in tesla is still the best in the market, sunroof is an option in id4, same as carplay. I drove 1500km in tesla 3 and the seats were perfect, id4 is a bench. P.s. i am not a fan of tesla and prefer petrol engines, still was waiting for a fair comparsion, more objective like trunk size, range or charging experience
Thanks for watching.
Is there a speed cap on the Travel Assist? I know the tesla caps at 85mph and just 5mph over the speed limit on city roads.
That's a great question. At least in the US, the Travel Assist speed doesn't seem to be limited to the speed limit. I'm sure I've had it to 85 but certainly no faster. I'm not sure of the actual maximum. I see an article that says 130mph, but I personally have no idea.
Depending on the VW you own Travel Assist (in the UK at least) works up to 130mph
I Suggested you should look into the working of your climate control. You should be using your aircon all year round .It works better if you set the temperature and forget about it In winter it will stop your windows steaming up .
Thanks for watching. We use the AC in the winter when needed as you described. The dealer has finally found the refrigerant leak. We have an appointment to get it repaired. We’ll make another video to document that experience.
We have a 2023 Debut Edition that is my wife's daily driver. It for sure does not have a tight suspension like the euro options, but boy is it smooth. Super quiet too and interior cabin is spacious and comfortable. Thx for the video. I enjoyed watching.
Thanks for watching AND thanks for YOUR videos. I’ve learned a lot from them. I would like to do some more testing and maybe take it on a roadtrip. The used prices are quite a bargain.
@@EVeryMile01 we were treated very nicely by the tax man this year too. Happy travels.
The reason why the car didn't switch into gears automatically at 3:12 was because you didn't have the seat belt on! Great video and thanks for sharing what it's like in a self-serve demo drive much love! <3
That makes perfect sense! Thanks for watching.
Always go with the hatchback
You’re not wrong.
FYI. The 2024 ID4 Pro comes with preconditioning and in Q1 2025, ID4's can charge at Tesla SC's. I get 180kwh on my 2022 ID4 AWD Pro at EA and EVGo when my SOC is 19% and I had driven for about 30 minutes.
Improvements are being made! Thanks for watching.
I had a similar smooth charging experience with my 2024 ID.4 on a recent road trip. We only ran into capacity issues with not enough chargers being available at more desirable locations because of the busy travel weekend. But we could have just been more patient. Instead we got snacks and charged at a less popular level 2 charger enough to get to the next less crowded fast charger. I didn't want to stick to EA since I didn't feel secure limiting our charging options even though MY24 drivers get complimentary 500kwh of free charging from them. Plug and charge at EA and another charger type (EVGo?) worked great for us too. Nice to see positive content about road-tripping this car. It seems like channels focused on this car just live to complain about it 😂
We try to go straight down the middle. We point out the positives as well as the negatives. The ID.4 is improving and that’s a good thing. Thanks for watching.
So far so good in our 24.
Awesome, glad to hear it.
So positive driving experiences can actually happen with this car! I just won a lemon law case against VW for my 2022 Pro S. My two years of owning this car have been miserable and am happy that it’ll gone soon.
Thanks for watching.
I’m glad you are able to get rid of it.
Enjoyed watching your trip. I frequent that Electrify America at Harper's Station when visiting family in Cincinnati. Of course it's currently offline while they rebuild the whole thing. Same for that EA in Mentor you visited. I would agree that anecdotally the network has become more reliable of late. Still, I've never gotten the app to work right for me - I always get an error when swiping to start the charge. Tapping the phone works if the RFID readers are online, but that's been about 50/50 in my experience. Thanks for the video, subbed
Thanks for your comment and the subscription!
Nice to see the faster charging times & better reliability! I've always wanted to see Falling Water, so fun to see you visit. Thanks for taking us along!
EA is actually improving. Thanks as always, Brian!

OMG when were you at the Cheektowaga!? I just bought my 2023 ID 4 2 months ago and I have been charging at the Cheektowaga station a lot! It’s always busy… I’ve been enjoying your videos for a while now, thank you for them 😊
Thank you! We were there on Tuesday May 21st. Thanks for watching.
And speed control can keep you legal and avoid tickets

Most Teslas look like potatoes on wheels. No style. And a lot of distracted driving. I love my 2023 ID-4
I’m glad you do!
The '24 ID.4 has both manual and automatic battery preconditioning, a heat pump, better UI in the infotainment system, and better range 😊
Awesome! I didn’t know we were getting a heat pump in the US.
@@EVeryMile01 Nvm I thought the battery preconditioning was possible because of the heat pump. That's alright, between battery reconditioning and remote climate heating while it's plugged in, that will serve my purposes in winter
@@vulpixelful Nope, the heat pump is not required for the battery pre-conditioning. Oh yeah, the heater as well as the heated seats and steering wheel is great.
I've had my Id4 pro S for one month. Today i had an error message that the electrical system was not working properly, then it simply stopped running. Couldn't put it in gear. Just dead
Oh, that’s terrible.
@EVeryMile01 yep but it's a company car so I won't pay for the repairs. But there's not enough technicians to work on these, there's issues no one has thought of. Just a dumb idea, especially when our company "mandates" we all have EV's but I'm going to be in a good old combustion engine till this is fixed
Did you get to choose between rwd or long range when you got there? I’m going to that location tomorrow and I was hoping to test a 2024 RWD as that’s the model I’m looking at getting.
I believe you chose what you wanted to drive online when you setup the appointment. I hope your drive went well!
Thanks for the info! Just bought an older ID4 & so in love with it but I must admit it was that or the Tesla 😳 keep up the good work! Your videos are so helpful 🫶🏼
Congrats, you’re going to love it! Used IDs are a great deal.
Could you have used Google Maps instead for figureing out state of charge at arrival?
Yes, absolutely.
You donot no to operate
Thanks for watching.
FSD did well, on a very easy daytime drive. How about Cincinatti or Cleveland on a Friday or Saturday night? Or in the rain? That would be interesting.
Excellent point.
Recommend using auto max speed offset. 👍🏻
Thanks
Running 70 mph is your problem. On such a short trip 70 doesn't reduce your ETA by much. But 70 dramatically reduces range.
Speed is a range killer for sure, but going slower really isn’t an option if you want to stay with a majority of traffic flow. The problem is the absence of a heat pump and not having on-route pre-conditioning results in longer winter trips.
Love your channel! Keep up the great content! You both are great communicators.
Thanks so much! We appreciate your kind words and support.
What s the APP on your phone that is telling you the battery temperature?
Car Scanner with an OBD device plugged in the car. Link in the description.
If that was a Tesla you'd be looking at $5000+ for the repair!
Perhaps that explains the price of insuring a Tesla.
Duct tape! MVP!
Please enable auto max speed, FSD is driving with one hand tied behind its back. 👍🏻
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for sharing your 1's experience.
You bet! Thanks for watching.
Nice to see it doing well on your drive. So far V12 has been pretty good for me in Minnesota. Looking forward to using it more.
Good to hear!
It would be nice to see all the lights but in a dark environment or night. 🙂🙏
Yes and they fixed that (Finally!) in the '24 model.
