have this record that I got when it came out, at the time I was playing in a band that was much lesser in what was going on but back then it sort of seemed like we were all together in the local music scene, except they were at a higher level! went to their shows and bought and listened to thwir record and kept playing music

I was at this show when I was 16 with a fake ID. Still one of the best concerts I have ever attended in my 55 year old life. It was feverish, effusive, and downright beautiful from beginning to end. I left sweaty, a little drunk, a lot enlightened, and wholly satisfied.

Shit I can't believe it's been 45 years since I started going to Jay's Longhorn.I couldn't tell you how many times I seen the burbs, suicide commandos the flamingos husker do and so many others I can't even remember. But there are definitely good times!

The first time I saw dark carnival was at the entry at an all Ages show. I think I was 17 I met this really amazingly beautiful 15-year-old girl ninth grader who is wearing one of those hippie skirts like down to her ankles of cotton ones that were had the embroidery on them and shit remember those? I gave her a ride home she lived out west of Hopkins and we made out in her room for like two hours before her mom and dad came home it was like a afternoon all ages show. I saw her one more time and we made out again and then that was it. Too bad because she was really beautiful. (Nice boobs.) It's funny but I thought of girls from the southwest as more sophisticated and cooler than the girls from the north east where I was which is probably true because they were closer to the city. When I look at an old yearbook of Blaine every single girl has the exact same haircut and I don't mean kind of the same. I mean exactly the same and it's not a big poof one either they would only wear those big poof haircuts when they were going out to like an all ages show or one of those all ages clubs like the Oz in St. Paul but if they're going to high school they had this sort of button-down helmet hair that everyone had the exact same haircut, it was insane. I never noticed when I was going to school but I look at a yearbook you know as an adult and I just I can't believe it!!! In high school I super long hair then I had a Beatles bob for a long time, then I had super short hair for a little while. I don't know, I was just trying to mix it up
