    I’m a biracial woman. I think hair care is more something girls struggle with than boys. I never hear biracial guys complain about their hair. It’s cool to see you make an effort, especially dealing with type 3 or 4 hair.

    Irs okay not to do their hair every day, to much pulling and tugging breaks the hair, and most of the time they don't want to sit to get it done

    • @BecomingTheFords
      @BecomingTheFords 11 днів тому

      It’s a good practice to do it everyday in my opinion so that it is predictable for them otherwise they will never learn to sit still when I do their hair. It’s teaching them personal hygiene also

    As a 54 y.o. interracial woman, I appreciate that you ask questions. I have been approached in Walmart a few times from white women who either had biological or foster kids that were mixed. The approach was usually something like, I notice that your hair is like my child's. Would you recommend some products we can use? I can certainly appreciate the effort to learn.

    An informative video but confusing too. She says their culture. A very confusing thing. What about their white culture too? Those kids are biracial. They are not black. If she feel looks at them as only “black”, that means she’s committing genocide against her own white people. People need to live in reality and grow some commonsense. Nobody should ever let their race go extinct. That’s a very sad, disrespectful, immoral thing to do to yourself, your kids and your family’s heritage.

    • @BecomingTheFords
      @BecomingTheFords 13 днів тому

      Did you read the title of the video? The goal is to teach about both races and this video is addressing the half of them that is black.

    As a biracial woman, we are not African Americans. We are Americans who are biracial.

    • @BecomingTheFords
      @BecomingTheFords 14 днів тому

      Do you identify with being both African American and white?

    • @OriginalBae
      @OriginalBae 14 днів тому

      @BecomingTheFords Yes, I identify as both black and white. However, I see it differently. I just don't consider it African-American. It's American with African ancestry. Even before finding out my actual ancestry being predominantly Nigerian , I have always recognized my African paternal Heritage as well as my maternal Eastern European heritage. I select the other box on forms "2 or more races." In the past, if there was no other box, I would select both. I grew up within a black community. I am 47 years old. I never let anyone define my ethnicity. Even our hair is different. Although it's curly, our routines are similar but not identical to actual black hair care. Oftentimes, it's more complicated to deal with. It took me decades to understand my own hair. We are our own ethnicity.✌🏽 multiracial, biracial. African-American is just a politically correct term. Elevating one over the other just causes confusion. I'm just glad that I had the clarity to understand what I am very early on.

    • @BecomingTheFords
      @BecomingTheFords 14 днів тому

      That is completely understandable. I am sure it can get very complicated and I want to work on them understanding both sides of their cultures. I refer to them as biracial and mixed and specifically in this video was addressing the African American half.

    There are many moms of all cultures who dont know how to do hair and not even their own hair, a lot of people go to salons. So thats good that you know how to do hair....there is curly or straight and thick or thin and coarse or smooth hair... all types of hair. Taking the time to teach your children to take pride in their appearance is awesome. Good job mom!
