Basic Railway Safety - Approaching Train
Переглядів 1,1 тис.3 роки тому
When walking on or near the line we must, where possible, be in a position of safety. Ideally walk along a safe walking route. If none are available, walk in the direction of oncoming trains in the cess, 4 foot or 10 foot. Not the 6 foot. We must also look up every 3 - 5 seconds to check for approaching trains. When a train approaches take the correct action: - Be in or move to a position of sa...

Blimey, please don’t tell me there was passengers waiting while all this gas to go on? We all moan about a bus replacement service but on this occasion I think I would probably just walk, let alone have to get a bus😂
As one who sometimes uses the station, I am convinced that every train always stops at Burnley Barracks and it is a request stop In name only.
when the app is coming it has been 2 years
has it been released yet to the public?
Esw is easier
Is it hard or annoying having to hold the DSD pedal the whole trip?
Nah its really light so you dont really need to put much pressure down on it
@@ldvlogs1958 Thank God for that
Very interesting, in Italy we call it the "illegal track" and today can only be used in case of emergencies
“Aaaaaa!!! fIrEwOrKs” - Samson 2020 Thomas and friends
I am a Darwener, and the Sough tunnel is a remarkable piece of civil engineering, especially when you consider when it was built, how it was built and the lack of machinery that was available then, and of course how many people were killed during its construction.
How do you identify what line when you are requesting a line block
You learn which is the up / down and what the line names are They're in the sectional appendix , but you must learn and retain the knowledge on many routes the name changes quite often on your journey
What I cannot understand is why there is so much rail row ,,,
Thanks for the super clip,,, I remember the Sough Tunnel walk we did,,, there was an engineer possession on that weekend and we spent some time looking at the middle where the ends meet,, they were off by about 2 meters,,
Bit scary driving on the wrong side of the track imagine seeing another train coming towards you on the same line 😮
0.02 seconds Voyager horn
You can even see the pressure lightly reducing.
Good observation
My dumbass engineer sent me this video on my day off.. This is one of the sounds that haunts me in my sleep.. Jersey Joe says hello Thomas!
Very useful video. Thank you for uploading.
very nice video .. very helpful.
Good spot Craig 👌
Didn’t whistle as per the stop board instruction?
Judging by the cab layout and the horn lever it looks to be a northen unit?
yep, I thought that. either Northern or GWR
@@northeasttrainsyep its northen 150276
I think its time the East Lancashire line was due some serious funding .
Can I ask how this animation was done, as in what software was used?
In the description are the numbers the amount of buzzes or something else, could you explain
They are the amount of buzzes yes
Nice one!!
My special needs son has heard of track detonators and seen them in use in a Thomas The Tank Engine episode called The Fogman.
,,,, Great,,but it would have been nice with a view all the way to the stop buffer at Colne station ,, maybe next time,,,
0:08 AWS Start 0:24 - AWS End
I’m pretty sure we know that
@@Gregthebaka pretty sure no one asked if you know that.
@thesusguysgaming390 did you know it?
Hi, Thanks for your comment. Train drivers are required to sound a series of short blasts at frequent intervals when making a wrong direction movement. The use of the horn in this instance is detailed in Rule Book Module TW1 Section 47.3 (d).
What is the significance of 3 periodic monotone air horn blasts.
Because the train is making a wrong direction movement there’s a requirement for regular blasts of the horn.
We need more like this for other degraded working
100%. There’s some good ones on the RSSB website though so have a look.
@@LittleWing-35 appreciated
Got rules again next week and this has helped!
That’s odd that the crossing doesn’t come down and let the train go through, the train has to stop and wait for it? Also, why didn’t this end at Colne as it was almost there?
The green aspect sounds like in SCR
Of course it would it does that on every train
Nope, it doesnt. Some trains, like the IETs (Class 800-810) have different sounds. @@Sayoriwastaken
@Panda1303 I think you're thinking of the AWS yellow aspect. It sounds the same on green signals
@@Sayoriwastaken Nope, even the clear sound is different.
Oh my fucking god someone put this guy on SCR GCR kids
Used to be doing this everyday. Takes me back
Out of the blue question, What camera was used for this? Im looking at getting a 360 camera but i have no clue what to get
It was a Samsung Gear 360. Although we've since upgraded to an Insta 360 One R both good for personal use 👍
oh
What train is this
Nice video man
I love that sound
has it been realssed yet?
Assuming this was a class 319?
Hi Marc. No, this was a Class 150/2.
Hi! Can I use these noises in a game if I credit you?
Hi, yes that's OK 👍
@@traindriverfoundation thank you!
I just played this to a train driver friend who was asleep and he had a heart attack 🤣
😂😅
Omg run
why run?
They weren't 20m apart . 😀
What area is this? Nice route
The Cumbrian Coast Line between Bootle and Drigg.
Would this video be used at actual train driver training
The video details a typical TBW line. It could be used to assist in the understanding of TBW. However, there are of course more rules than this to consider.
I wish it was as opposed to simply writing text from the Rulebook. A simple video like this makes it so much easier to understand
@@elthamlad468 definitely.
My 2 year rules refresh is coming up, and videos like this are a great means of revising and remembering.
pacer train use a gun underneath his body
what will the app be called
Shame the video was cut short the train didn't even get to Colne
