Yall know that u could do a cover of a cover right? they never claimed that they "own" the song/cover, which means that it's okay that they made a COVER of a cover of a song(toxic). I'm a die-hard fan of Mel, and I'm sure that even Mel could agree that it's ok. There's nothing wrong with what they did. Also, this was like 10 years ago- why yall complaining now when this was aired 10 YEARS AGO? I've seen comments saying "I hope the judges kicked them out". First of all, that's not a good reason to kick them out, secondly, judges don't have the power to do that- it's their manager who has the power to do that. I honestly think that they did amazing, though this was 10 years ago. Another thing, yall know that we have our own minds? A LOT of people could have thought of a version similar to Mel's that they didn't even know that Mel's version existed. Just because Melanie is famous/known, that doesn't mean that yall could attack innocent people who didn't mean any harm, just because yall "think" they copied Mel. Yall need to chill. I think Alex was singing great but you could just tell that Sierra was trying too hard. It was just really cringe the lip biting, weird “sultry” looks, and straining of her voice to make it sound something it’s not.I really wish they would’ve credited credited Melanie Martinez since honestly her version was way better than the original even. I love me some Brittany spears but the vibe that Melanie Martinez gave to the song was something sooo beautiful to the ears. In the end Melanie soared above despite not winning the voice while Alex & Sierra won X Factor but I haven’t heard them and I heard they broke up like years ago.
