Dog 2-502 vet from OEF 10-11, the focus of this channel is to shoot guns and have fun, but it's mostly to keep the public informed on cheaper and reliable fixes to tactical issues involving coms, lasers, guns, kit, helmets, boots, NVGs and many other things. Spall Testing CATI500 Steel Plate. 5.56 and 7.62
I've heard a lot of back and forth involving Spalling on steel armor plates, so I decided to test it using a spare side plate I have from CATI Armor right here in Michigan. In short the spalling seems substantial, but the absence of 90 degree travel is encouraging, what is not encouraging is the 110 degree backward funnel of spalling that is blowing chunks of high velocity rounds back towards your wrists and everything else.
I still think steel is the way to go, but spalling is a serious issue, unless a design can be brought into place that would create a deeper spall coating, such as adhering a 1/4 inch of polymer coating to the front of the plate could resolve the issue, if you shoot plastic it is somewhat self healing wh8ch leads me to believe that may be a viable way to go.
I will experiment more, but for now enjoy, if you are going to try this please be safe, and I do not recommend you place the plate against a solid object, that is like inviting a ricochet, and or a spall claymore to send chunks flying back at you and potentially into your face and other parts you don't want peppered....

We gave BD6 a little update, and honestly I think it worked out a bit better with limited exposure to the team entry and single man entry. The worst possible scenario is that someone go down in the doorway with little to no ability to get them out quickly and to minimize risk of a continued threat to the team, once one man is down the team are now exposed at a higher level than they would norma...

TCA AN/PRC-152A review and out of the box, Part 1
You are mentioning a programming cable for the TRI, but there seem to be no programming cables on the market, just one year later, while TCA cables are everywhere. Also, in other videos, UA-camrs state that the TRI cannot be programmed on a computer at all. Do you have the software for the TRI and did you ever actually program it on a computer? An answer would be helpful, not only for me. This question has been raised in the community many times, and your video was part of the confusion. Thanks.
@tyron.montgomery i was not aware that my video caused so much confusion. I was not able to figure it out as the computer i had it set up on took a major dive and I can't seem to get it back up. Also I have one for the TCA and that one has the same issue, so im unsure of what the issue is exactly? Wether it be a radio issue or a software issue I'm unsure, it certainly isnt a cable issue though. However I am making a video specifically to adress programming the radio without the cable. Its all fun and games to plug it into the cable and just use the computer, but the issue seems to be finding a cable that works and the software, which both are not supported on some of the newest operating systems, with some not supported at all. So here soon I will do a video on the radio itself showing how to use the different functions on both radios. Also I am going to a man pack for any ranged communications so my focus has been accessing and working on the repeater functions for a much larger radio, and I have been using the PRC152A as a Team mate to Team mate radio instead. Also I have been working on discovering and using ATAK for some RECCE uses and I'm trying to mesh that into how we use the radios and creating an SOP for utilization of all of the tools for call for fire uses. Also for medical and other such tools.
Nice rifle. You will get much much better accuracy if you move the bi-pod from the barrel to the hand guard.
@josephhomen it didnt change anything by moving the bipod to or from.
Make your own relocator wire the chinese aren't very good at it.
I thought it was going to be a six year use, but it just a break down of what he bought over the years and a field strip. Not much of a review.
Damn, just found out today these radios can be bought as a civilian
@@MrGus937 yep this model can, even the others can as well, but are not encrypted
Does anyone else's set key up on its own or when you press the keypad?
Comtacs and every other headset most definitely work with this radio.
With the original peltor PTT or do you need to get another for this radio?

@@M4HRed yes the original works, i have not heard of these having any issues working with any of the versions out there.
It's blow back not gas

The 2022 version most definitely is not a baofeng. Whoever said that is uneducated on the subject.

I know I’m years late, but you aren’t getting sound through the speaker because your radio is set to TOT. This is headset only. You must switch to MOI for handset usage, and there is also a setting to auto detect a 6 pin connection and switch only the fly.

@MichaelSchisler-jx3uc that's surprising. I wonder what version you got, because they changed it somewhere around 2018-19 I wanna say? I have the original version as it was.
I love mine but just trying to figure it out still.
Do you know where to get a program cable and software for the tca 152a?
does it chew up brass? Do you reload any from it?
@gregblankenship1184 I don't reload at all when it comes to Semi Autos, there is too much of a risk of error in even one round that could damage or destroy a weapon very rapidly. I always use a quality inspected round, you can do the same with reloads, but the benefit of doing that yourself just doesn't overshadow the time you have to put into it.
@@bhtshq3033 does it chew up brass? I have literally watched tens of thousands of rounds being fired add my range that have been reloaded in are being run through semi-autos. If you watch Jerry miculek videos you will see him firing thousands and thousands of reloads through his semi-autos. I totally understand an abundance of caution. And, to each his own comfort level. I do appreciate you posting the video. I have one of those rifles and it is good to see the content.
@gregblankenship1184 awesome, I personally do not reload anything I shoot through a semi auto as stated before. I am very cautious because the amount that i fire i just cant reload, i wouldnt have time for anythingelss like spending time with my family. It doesn't chew up my brass, I don't know what everyone else's experience is with the rifle.

Thank you Sir, this video was very helpful!
Does it really do these frequences? VHF frequency band (receiving/transmitting): 136-174MHZ UHF frequency band (receiving/transmitting): 400-480MHZ (Receiving/Transmitting): 220-259MHz (Receiving/Transmitting): 330-370MHz
I put it down and didn't go full indepth on that yet, but when I do I will put up a video, I just haven't had as much time to do so recently
does the kdu has a microphone? can you use the kdu along side with the headset? is there a way to extend the frequencies?
No microphone on the KDU, but you can use it with the headset. The headset attaches to the PTT and the KDU Connects into the multi pin plug on the side of the radio.
What’s the purpose of this aside from cloning the real one for the looks first milsim or whatever. Just curious to why so many seemed to have bought into these Chinese clones that are huge in comparison to some other radio to accomplish the same thing with less size an weight
I mean yeah that's pretty much it, but they more robust than Beofang Radios in alot of ways for alot of reasons, they also have been Accessories to go with them, and are more user friendly to channel and program. I like them alot better than the competition.
Maybe people don't have the £10-20,000 for a real Falcon 3 handset for their children?
Thank you so much for showing us the differences between the TRI and TCA. I'm glad I purchased the TRI. Another cool thing about the TRI is that the genuine Harris AN/PRC 152 batteries and other accessories fit on the TRI.
Well they fit on the TCA as well. Now wether or not they work remains to be seen. I typically wouldn't recommend doing that, but if it works...
люди, это китайское говно
Thanks for the video. On your version of the TCA how do you set offsets for receivers? The old version had an S-D option in the menu. Thanks for any help
I am unsure on that yet, but I will be working on that in the near future and will release another video when I'm done doing that.
I'm looking for one last rifle I like ak only but is this thing worth buying?? Does it have that certain balance and reliability? I know thereare mor accurate stuff but is it worth 1600??
Can either of these be used for emergencies or monitoring services during a disaster? Or are they just toys for airsoft?
If you have the emergency band they should yes, Coast Guard, Air and Air National Guard all maintain emergency open frequencies that are monitored by their towers and dispatches.

Can you do single channel PT ??
yes
Where did you get your steel trigger housing? Trying to find one that’s been modified but no luck.
HK Parts has them
what brand is the helmet ?
It's an airsoft helmet. Not ballistic.
To redeploy the bolt ,Put the bolt carrier assembly in Backwards in the receiver and give it good shove . , Also if your butstock is ahard to remove, lock the BC to the rear with the charging handle. ,Just watch out for the BC to shot out, Easy to do. You Do Not need to remove the bolt lock bar to field strip. Take care. Been using the CETME/HK system for some time.
Nice video.
Too bad, I would have liked to see the use of the programming cable on the PRC152 sort with its dedicated software with links to get them, because I can't find either of them on the net.
I assume maybe they took them down? I mean yeah it sucks, but if you can figure out channel navigation and the menu, then you can get farther. Admittedly? I have a guy that can do this stuff for me, but i prefer to learn it myself. So I'll dig into it, and if I find anything I'll shoot a link here.
Can connect other normal walkie talkie?
I would say atleast another UHF/VHF, but unless you can program to match the frequency I would say no.
Can you give a link to the upgraded 2023 model? There are so many sellers on eBay and it's hard to find the right one to trust.

Delete the phrase "so and and so forth" from your vocabulary
Don't be a douche bag and I will delete douche from my vocab in this conversation.
sNiPeR bRaNd. I thought when you were talking about your kit it was bad. You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about here either. The shit you say about your muzzle brake. Mounting a bipod to a barrel. Using another cheap optic, but then being happy that it’s FFP. The optic has nothing to do with what MOA that gun shoots. A 4 MOA gun is a 4 MOA gun no matter what optic is on it. The optic will help the shooter, but it’s not going to change what the gun will shoot. How are you going to talk about spending a little more on an optic and then run a shitty optic like that? Come on, man. You don’t actually believe the shit you say when you claim to have nice stuff. “It’s a spring assisted forward.” Hahaha. What does that even mean, man? That’s not a “buffer spring.” Hahahaha. Thank you so much. You have provided a bunch of us with a lot of laughs today, I’m sure we’ll continue so on and so forth.
The amount of false and bad advice in your video and comments is astounding. First thing, you need to stop buying inferior products. You’re running some cheap Chinese airsoft plate carrier. Your Velcro stops working because you’re running a cheap Chinese/airsoft PC, hell, even your “upgrades” (Emersongear) are airsoft. Why wouldn’t you just buy a Crye JPC? They’re under $300 and far better than what you’re running. You are running shit pouches on your PC. Quality pouches don’t even cost that much. Your gun belt doesn’t look very rigid to me, which isn’t a good thing. I would be willing to bet you bought that on Amazon. Why are you talking about bolt cutters for breaching? I would be willing to bet that if you carried bolt cutters in that bag, they would put a hole in the bag within a day. You need to think about better guns and gear before you even consider breaching anything. I don’t even know what to say about that god awful holster that you’re running. Second. An Amazon optic on your pistol. Come on, man. Really? You just love buying cheap shitty gear. You said that you prefer the green dot because “it doesn’t wash out your night vision.” That is 100% complete bullshit. If you truly are worried about “washing out” your night vision, you should be using red, not green. There is a very simple solution for that though, just get yourself some night vision. I’ve never seen someone cope harder about their shitty purchases. Third. Steel plates will never be as effective as ceramic plates. I can guarantee that you’re not using NIJ certified plates. You can get a set of level 4 plates with a current NIJ certification for $320. There is absolutely no reason to be running steel plates for anything other than working out. Fourth. You’re running a Chinese helmet. You said you’re running a “bump ballistic helmet.” Dude…Do you even know what that means? Those are two completely different things. Comparing your helmet to HHV isn’t saying much. Their helmets are complete trash. There is a huge difference between a real Wilcox mount, and your fake Wilcox mount. Don’t call them COMTACs when you’re not running COMTACs. You said you don’t like the Ops Core AMPs, you probably have used real AMPs, because they’re really clear. Real Ops Core AMPs have the mics on the side so you are able to hear what’s going on around you just like real COMTACs. I would be willing to bet that you did not get a real CORE Survival HEL-STAR. I’m glad to see you did buy actual night vision. Why would you buy any Gen II though? A Gen III GP is better than and GEN II WP. If you were to get a better set, you would see why a Wilcox G24 costs what it costs. A battery pack lasts longer than running a single battery, but it won’t last you anywhere near a deployment…They won’t last months. You are spouting off random bullshit at this point. I deployed to Afghanistan twice, and I swapped batteries I don’t know how many times. For you to say that you only replaced your batteries once, at month nine, either you didn’t actually use your night vision, or you’re completely full of shit. If you paid $6,000 for that setup, you got taken for a ride, man. Everything you got is a cheap knockoff. There was a comment about helmets a while back. You are 100% correct that they are made to stop shrapnel, but you are wrong in your statement that any hit from a bullet to them will go through. I have witnessed someone take a round to the helmet in Afghanistan and not hit them in the head. They are shaped the way the are for a reason. There was also no backface deformation. I understand that wasn’t common at all. I’m just saying that not 100% of rounds to a helmet will go through. We can keep going with this, but I don’t think I need to. You keep saying you won’t come off your hill and you tell everyone else to stay on their hill, which is all fine and dandy, when you’re talking about quality gear. The problem here is that you’re not talking about quality gear. The nicest piece of gear I’ve seen you have is your Mechanix gloves. Hopefully you will sell off that stuff and buy yourself some quality gear. If you need help, jump on some of the mid tier gear groups on Facebook, I’m sure they can lead you in the right direction.

If you want to actually get trained, get ahold of the Oneil racing school in VT or through the Land Rover courses- they have former Camel Trophy competitors as well as some former military like myself who have done the FLETC driving courses and a lot of actual off-road driving training. Driving around in the woods isn't training, and if you aren't trained "for real" yourself you'll just reinforce bad ideas. Bill Burke is a great resource as well if he's still around...
