Pumper Jones Productions Media Group Pictures S Corp LLC is a leading entertainment company focused on the production and global distribution of film and television content across all platforms. The company owns one of the world’s deepest libraries of premium film and television content. In addition, Josh's mom has investments in numerous television channels. Pumper Jones and its legendary TBD logo was formed in April 1925, by theater magnate Mark Lotus, who orchestrated the merger of Netro Pictures LLC., Silverwin Pictures and Oscar Mayer Productions. With visionary Oscar B. Mayer and production genius Mervin Talberg at the helm, Pumped Straight LLC was a powerhouse of prolific artistry and filmmaking expertise that the studio famously said attracted "more stars than are in the whatchyacallit." During a golden three decades from 1924 to 1954, the pure science based studio dominated the movie business, creating a Best Picture nominee every year for two straight decades.

The Aputure LS C300d II and Nanlite Forza 300 II monolights are both incredibly popular lights that have been used in movies and television, and degenerate internet content for a few years now. In the past few years they’ve also become increasingly more common on UA-cam. So let’s put them to the test and see what their differences are and which one might be the right choice for me. Sorry… you. I mean you. I didn’t forget you.
I really want to emphasize that my goal with this video is NOT to say anything negative about Aputure. It’s a truly fantastic company. It’s the name I gave to my first born child (like many have). I just think that a lot of people, solo creators, small crews, and people working in spaces with less control over the ambient light, will benefit more from the tint control of the Nanlite Forza series. (Also the battery situation on this particular Aputure model is basically just wrong)

Aputure's LS C300d II Daylight LED Monolight is an enhanced version with 20% more power, refined features, and advanced connectivity. Aputure uses Chip on Board (COB) technology to produce a 5600K color temperature, with power consumption of just 350W, while outputting up to 45,000 lux of light with an efficient reflector at a distance of 3.3'. In addition to power efficiency, this fixture also has a CRI/TLCI rating of 96, indicating accuracy in color rendering. The fixture's ballast/controller employs 0 to 100% Linear, Logarithmic, Exponential, and S-Curve dimming and is separated from the body of the fixture, making it lighter and reducing its size. A quick release plate connects to an included clamp, allowing attachment to a light stand to distribute the weight.
The LS C300d II's performance is backed by its design. The all-aluminum construction goes through numerous fabrication steps, and the reflector and accessory mount is the widely used Bowens S-Type. A wireless remote that allows you to control on/off and dimming functions from distances up to 328' is included. And speaking of control, Aputure also offers the Bluetooth Sidus Link App Control which allows wireless adjustments of all the light's functions as well as effects such as Lightening, Pulse, Flash, and Explosion. Ideal for sound-sensitive environments, the LS C300d II can be seen but not heard thanks to a highly efficient fan that can be turned off when absolute silence is required. The LS C300d II is ready for worldwide use thanks to its 110-240 VAC power supply but it also has two battery plates, allowing you to use V-Mount batteries for external power when mains current is unavailable.
Nanlite has added key refinements in every regard to improve the performance of its second-generation Forza 300 II Daylight LED Monolight. Featuring a daylight-balanced color temperature of 5600K with green-magenta shift by +/- 80, this spotlight is a step up to the next level of quality for your video and photo productions. It will blend seamlessly into any ambient light situation, match other fixtures, or allow creative expression. The light comes with a 55° reflector, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz for wireless control, DMX/RDM capability, and four fan modes for speed adjustments or absolute silence. A redesigned control unit is also included with the ability to efficiently run on AC power or optional V-mount batteries.
The Forza 300 II ships with an upgraded curved yoke that allows 360° rotation for a greater tilting range when used with optional large modifiers. A 5/8" receiver accepts industry-standard light stands and the light's Bowens mount is widely compatible with multiple light modifiers. The light is ready for worldwide use thanks to its 110 to 240 VAC power supply, but it can also run one or two optional side-mounted 14.8V V-mount batteries for situations when AC current is unavailable.

You are too entertaining to be a photographer😂

I just got my soft box BUT when I use CapCut face smoother and teeth whitener it looks HORRIBLE!! Literally gives me crayon yellow teeth and weird skin!!! Help! WTH should I do, anyone else have this problem??
Sorry I don't know anything about Capcut. I use Premiere for work. Zee used Davinci for his channel, it's more complicated, but it does have more control and there is a a free version . That said, I did watch the one video on your channel. I really don't think you need to worry about skin smoothing. You seem to do a great job with your makeup/skincare as it is. I'll go out on a limb here, and just say that I can get pretty self-conscious about how I look. There are some things I know I can work on, and seeing myself on camera is a potential barometer of that. There are other things I've just got over/used to. I used to be pretty frustrated by a tumor on my neck. No one cares (once they realize it's not hurting me, that is). I've kept uploading and learned to just see was everyone else sees. My wife works through this all the time, and she is on camera way more than me (and also a woman!). www.youtube.com/@LaShondaMBrown There are so so many little things you might/will learn that can/will help. But the easiest/fastest/only way to learn them is to keep pushing though, and making sub-optimal or imperfect content. So please just keep going!

Classic case of how bad editing can destroy a good video!
6k 4:2:0 (23.6MP÷4=5.9MP) has more colour resolution than 4k 4:2:2 (8.8MP÷2=4.4MP). Even if you match the aspect ratios, 6k 17:9 is still 18.8MP, so it still has 4.7MP worth of colour resolution. You made the right choice.
😮💨Yeah, I vaguely remember discussion when RED camera was still newish about oversampling being a positive thing due to debayering, ect. I've never heard of the math you are using tho, so I was just wildly guessing. If you don't mind me asking... What technique are you using to actually estimate the color rez? Feel free to make a new comment, and I'll pin that. That would be very helpful. Thank you.

Cool, funny and usefull video! What's the led light name? I can't find it
It is a Hexolux. It's a pretty old light as far as LEDs go. The color is better on newer gen lights. You just want something with an umbrella mount realtively close to the COB. I don't recommend the Hexolux new unless you need the tilt shift feature (I have a video in the pipeline about that). www.adorama.com/vsh7dr.html
It is a Visionsmith Hexolux. It's a pretty old light as far as LEDs go. The color is better on newer gen lights. You just want something with an umbrella mount relatively close to the COB. I don't recommend the Hexolux new unless you need the tilt shift feature. I had replied to this over a month ago when you asked, but I linked to sale page Adorama, so I think the reply got quarantined. My bad, still hope it helps!
I did something similar last year. The cage I bought for my Sony FX3 has an Arca Swiss bottom rail which of course runs at 90 degrees to the usual Arca Swiss mount receiver. I bought one of these generic receivers and fitted it side ways to the Manfrotto plate with the tightening screw facing out under the screen on the camera. Works a treat.
Nice! Seems most cages these days have gone for the integrated plate design. Glad it worked out for you!
Sirui is also great!
That's great! I'm not sure if you able to post a link in the comments, but please feel free to drop a model number if it worked well for you.

Very enjoyable content. Thank you!
Thanks, hope it helps!
Hilarious as usual. Interesting gel. Would like to see if it performs better/worse than a diffuser for the light or a circular polarizer or even a mist filter.
Thanks for the feedback. Nice to see you around! It's diffusing the scatter of light through the skin vs at the light source or just hiding certain rays from the sensor in case of the CPL. So I think it's more of an addition or an extra point of control rather than something I feel I could head-to-head compare. For example, I find it helpful on noses, even if the light is already very "soft" or the source side. It, at the end of the day is doing the job of decent makeup. Just really universal, easy to use, clear makeup. I really recommend picking up a tube and trying yourself! I'll defiantly use all those tools going forward for my talking heads.
mate your channel is pure gold!!!!!!!
Thanks, bruv! (or whatever the equivalent is over in Ozzieland)
lol'd many times. great video.
thanks, bud!
looks like it will get in the shot a lot
Yeah, I found the angle that kept it out prior to this shoot. Fortunately, it has markers on the angle rotation piece, so I was able to get repeatable results. As far as I can tell it's only getting into the shot as much as the operator allows (ex my "vlog walking shot"). If it's in the frame - adjust slightly, and lock it down. That said, I wouldn't use it for anything action heavy. Walking was about as far as I'd like to push it on camera.
It seems like the diffusion umbrella gave almost a similar effect to the softbox. Oh for this situation: half-body forward-looking with a clean background.
Umbrellas are pretty clutch and cheap. I use a white bounce umbrella on almost every shoot. I mostly use the spill control of soft boxes for talking heads.
Umbrellas are so much better than softboxes except for spill control. If that's not essential, umbrellas are cheaper, smaller, lighter, easier to set up and can also be used as an umbrella (duh). Another banger from you guys!
I do emotionally feel that the deep umbrella give me a little more directional control vs shallower types. That said, your comment gave me an idea for rigging a grid up to an umbrella! Then umbrella gang will be undefeated! Thank you!
Great Review. It would be more useful to me if the cable was reversed. Female on the mic end and Male on the camera end. All of my small mics except for my Lav receivers have male 3.5mm outputs
Same here. That double female 3.5mm adapter lives on the microboom, currently. I daily drive the VideoMic Pro. They seem to have designed the cabling with something like the VideoMicro II in mind. That said it can handle a lot more weight than that. Frankly, this would be a great mount for the VideoMic NTG.
Nobody: This guy's wife: 1:17
You flatter me!
finally video i really needed
Brother if you used something like Unraid, you would only need to allot 1 drive to parity. Freeing up the rest of your drives. You could then put them into a pool, so for example if you dropped a 1tb file onto the smb share it would equally divide it across the drives. Tldr, you could have 1 drive as parity covering your whole array and still fast speeds.
So Asustor ADM can do raid 5 as well as 6, but I did raid 6 cuz it's my first NAS and I'm scared. I also bought remanufactured drives, they've worked great so far, but I had no idea what my failures would be like. That said, the speeds are good once they spin up. Spin up time seems to be the main (no the only, but main) disadvantage vs ssds for editing over the asustor.
I especially liked when the 3.5” HDD was dropped and auto-magically turned into a 2.5” HDD before hitting the ground. Spooky,……….
Data is tricky like that. Spooky Dookie.
